As the two turned to leave, the crowd automatically parted to make way for them, all watching them intently.
Feeling the intense gazes following her closely, Lin Yue pursed her lips and smiled secretly, a hint of smugness in her heart.
The students' gazes were all filled with goodwill and appreciation, which made it hard not to feel happy.
Someone in the crowd exclaimed, "Holy crap! Isn't that Lin Yue, the finance PhD student?! Lin Yue, the campus beauty and academic superstar! She's this handsome guy's wife?! Then he must be the heir of the Song family—Song Yunzheng!"
"A powerful combination! Their looks are absolutely perfect together! My God, what window did God close for them?"
"Perhaps it's because the window to poverty has been closed..." As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd collectively searched for the source of the voice, and then scattered like birds and beasts.
Lin Yue led Song Yunzheng straight to a Huaiyang cuisine restaurant near the school, deciding to have dinner there.
They found a private seat by the window and ordered three dishes, two meat and one vegetable.
Located near the school, this restaurant boasts a pleasant environment, a friendly owner, and most importantly, excellent food that attracts many students to become loyal repeat customers, making it extremely popular.
Sure enough, not long after the two sat down, groups of students began to walk in to eat.
Every time someone enters, their gaze is involuntarily drawn to the two people by the window.
Lin Yue picked up a shrimp and put it in her mouth. She looked back and then reached out to touch the man's earlobe next to her. "You're such a seductive enchantress, my husband."
Song Yunzheng bent down to pick out the fish bones for her, a slight smile playing on his lips, "Wife, you seem to attract more attention than I do..."
Lin Yue coughed lightly, "Same to you."
She gazed at him intently picking out the fish bones, her thoughts drifting back to the very first year when he took her to eat at Xin Rong Ji. Back then, he was just as focused, single-mindedly battling the fish bones.
Her soft, warm fingertips gently caressed his earlobe until she saw his ear begin to change color, from white to pink.
Song Yunzheng placed the fish he had chosen into her bowl, then looked up at her with a deep gaze. "Eat quickly, and then go home as soon as you're done."
He'd been ignored by her for almost half a month, and tonight he was determined to get his money back, with interest.
Lin Yue picked up the bowl and ate the fish he had chosen; her happiness was palpable.
Back at Courtyard No. 1, Lin Yue, covered in sweat, went straight into the bathroom to take a shower, taking off her jewelry and wedding ring and placing them on the dressing table.
Song Yunzheng turned around and took out a royal blue brocade box from his bag. Inside was a pigeon-egg diamond ring that sparkled brilliantly under the light.
He imagined her wearing that enormous diamond ring to school; anyone with eyes could tell she was married, and her husband was very rich! He nodded in satisfaction.
The bathroom door opened, and Lin Yue walked out dressed in a cool, refreshing outfit. She saw someone holding up a ring and grinning foolishly, without even taking a shower.
"What are you doing? You're all sweaty, why don't you go take a shower?"
"Try it on." Song Yunzheng turned his head, took her hand, and carefully slipped the ring onto her finger.
He nodded in satisfaction, "Yes, as expected of me, my taste is always excellent, no matter what I choose."
Lin Yue held up her arm, looking at the huge diamond ring on her ring finger, then squinted at him, "Is today some kind of special occasion? Why are you suddenly giving me a ring?"
Song Yunzheng took the towel from her hand and helped her dry her hair. "What can I do? My wife is just too outstanding and so beautiful. Look at the way those junior students look at you, they're practically drooling. I have to get you a bigger diamond ring so that it will dazzle them and remind them that you have a husband! He's mine, Song Yunzheng's!"
Lin Yue looked up at his smug expression and chuckled helplessly, "Okay, I'll bring it to class tomorrow. If anyone gets close, I'll pretend to flip my hair, how about that?"
"That would be best." He reached out and wrapped his arm around her slender waist, his mind already wandering.
He lowered his head and pressed his forehead against hers, his voice low and husky: "Wait for me, don't fall asleep, I'll take a quick shower..."
Lin Yue was slightly taken aback, then instantly understood his unspoken meaning. Her cheeks flushed red, and she gently pushed him, "Go wash up quickly, you stink."
Song Yunzheng walked into the bathroom, turning back every few steps. The door he had just closed suddenly opened again, and a head popped out to look at her. "Wait for me, baby."
Lin Yue rolled her eyes at him, annoyed. He had become more and more childish in recent years. Even though he was 35 years old, he sometimes acted like a clueless young man in his early twenties.
Men usually shower very quickly. When he came out, he was only wearing a towel around his waist, exuding a lazy and noble air with a hint of wildness.
Upon seeing the person sitting on the headboard reading a book, his bewitching fox-like eyes narrowed slightly as he strode closer, snatched the book from her hands, gently closed it, and placed it on the bedside table beside her.
Song Yunzheng stretched out his slender fingers, lifted her delicate chin, and whispered, "Wife, you've neglected me for so long because of your studies..."
"It hasn't been that long, it's only been two weeks." Lin Yue's soft, boneless little hand pressed against his chest as he pressed against her.
That's all? That's all!
"Besides, excessive indulgence can easily harm your health, so you must take care of yourself."
Song Yunzheng chuckled softly, bending his long legs and untying the towel around his waist, tossing it aside. He gently bit her delicate lips, his voice hoarse as if sandpaper rubbing against her: "Don't worry, I won't be lonely even when I'm eighty."
Lin Yue blushed and playfully punched him. She turned to run away, but he was too fast. He grabbed her wrist and lifted her high. She was like a lamb to the slaughter, powerless to resist.
