Chapter 196 Extra: A Happy Family

The baby's due date is in the height of summer, June.

After taking care of her school affairs early on, Lin Yue did not go back to school and stayed home to rest and prepare for childbirth.

That night, at 4:15 a.m., Lin Yue started having contractions in her stomach, which came every five minutes. She was woken up by the pain and thought she needed to use the restroom, so she went to the bathroom while clutching her stomach.

As soon as I sat on the toilet, I felt a warm gush of fluid come out—I started bleeding!

Before her water broke, she started bleeding, and then her stomach began to ache with sharp, intermittent pains, as if it were tearing her apart. The pain lasted longer and longer, and Lin Yue was too weak to stand up. With all her might, she shouted, "Husband! My stomach hurts so much, I'm going into labor!"

Song Yunzheng sat up as if electrocuted and rushed into the bathroom, where he saw Lin Yue sitting on the toilet with a pale face and her cheeks and forehead covered with fine beads of sweat.

At times like these, he becomes unusually calm.

As I helped her up, I caught a glimpse of red and breathed a sigh of relief. "Don't worry, it's just a cervical mucus plug coming off. The baby is about to come out. Let's go to the hospital now."

The hospital bag was prepared a week ago, so although I'm anxious, everything is proceeding smoothly.

During a break from driving, I called my family and told them to quickly meet up at the hospital.

Because of the breech presentation, Song Yunzheng did not hesitate at all and decisively made Lin Yue choose a cesarean section, which he performed himself.

Lin Yue has complete trust in her husband.

Outside the delivery room, everyone was there. Song Xinian was accompanied by four plainclothes officers, Zhou Lirong paced back and forth at the door, and Yun Xi and Rong Youze also arrived.

Li Shuhua sat quietly in the corner, her hands clasped tightly together. She dared not get too close, fearing that her past mistakes would cause the Song family elders to harbor resentment towards her.

Inside the operating room, Song Yunzheng was exceptionally calm, and Lin Yue, lying on the operating table, was also exceptionally relaxed. During the surgery, she kept meditating, imagining the scene of the three of them going on a trip together in the future.

The moment Song Yunzheng took the baby out of Lin Yue's womb, a loud cry rang out.

"Time of birth: 8:45."

The loud cry lasted only three seconds before the little one opened his eyes in surprise. His big, bright black eyes were completely unwrinkled by the amniotic fluid, and you could see that his nose was very high and straight.

Song Yunzheng smiled slightly behind his mask, then turned and handed the baby to the nurse.

The nurse cleaned the baby, wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and brought him to Lin Yue's side. "Come here, little handsome boy, give Mommy a kiss."

After the surgery, Lin Yue was wheeled back to her ward. Song Yunzheng kissed the weak Lin Yue tenderly, his heart feeling like it was being soaked in vinegar—bitter and heartbreaking, yet also filled with happiness.

"Honey, you've worked hard."

The anesthesia hadn't worn off yet, and some people were still dazed. Upon hearing this, their noses suddenly stung, and their eyes instantly filled with tears.

Song Yunzheng's eyes were also slightly red. He wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes with his long fingers, and said in a low, hoarse voice, "My dear, you've suffered. Don't cry. Close your eyes and sleep for a while."

Lin Yue's chin trembled slightly as she closed her eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

The little one was lying in his own little bed, sleeping soundly. The two faces, one big and one small, looked very similar when they were asleep. Song Yunzheng stood beside him and gazed at them for a long time, his heart filled with emotion.

He thought he would remember this scene for the rest of his life.

Zhou Lirong happily led Song Xinian to the crib. Looking at the little one in the swaddling clothes, the two elders' eyes narrowed into slits with laughter.

"Look, old man, this is our precious grandson."

Yunxi couldn't wait to pull Rong Youze over, exclaiming, "Wow, the little guy is so handsome!"

As she spoke, she generously pulled out a bank card and gently placed it next to the baby, saying, "Baby, this is a gift from your aunt and uncle."

My generous aunt is always so lavish!

Li Shuhua's eyes were red, and she hesitated to speak, not daring to step forward.

"Mom, come and see your grandson," Song Yunzheng called out to her.

Upon hearing this, Li Shuhua was overjoyed beyond words. She nodded vigorously, her eyes glistening with tears of excitement.

The little guy didn't have a name yet, even on the tenth day after he was born.

Lin Yue nestled in Song Yunzheng's arms, looking tenderly at her son who was sleeping soundly beside her, and said with a smile, "How about his nickname, Manman? It means 'a small fullness in life is better than a thousand others,' what do you think?"

"Yes, the meaning is very good."

"The nickname is decided, so the formal name is up to you."

Song Yunzheng extended a finger and gently touched his son's rosy cheek. After a moment of contemplation, he slowly said, "Shi'an, how about calling him Song Shi'an?"

Lin Yue repeated it twice in a low voice, a look of approval on her face, then looked up at him and asked, "Is there any special meaning behind it?"

"May all places be at peace."

Parents' greatest wish is for their children to live a safe and healthy life. They hope that their children can live peacefully and smoothly in this vast world.

...

Song Shi'an was a very well-behaved baby in his mother's belly. It was thought that he would be a well-behaved baby after he was born, but little did we know that this little guy was a little devil.

She needs to be fed every two hours, and if it's a little late, she'll start crying loudly. She also cries if her diaper isn't changed in time. Not only that, she needs to be held to sleep, and she wakes up as soon as she touches the bed, and then cries when she wakes up.

Speaking of milk, Lin Yue wanted to breastfeed her child, but Song Yunzheng firmly disagreed. He knew that once breastfeeding began, the child would cling to the mother like a little tail.

More importantly, the pain of breastfeeding is no less than that of childbirth, and he couldn't bear to let her suffer that pain again, so he firmly rejected her suggestion to breastfeed, without any room for discussion.

Lin Yue deliberately teased him, implying that he had ulterior motives.
