Before the game even started, Su Wenqian grabbed the person next to him and started plotting who should drink.
This was originally a carefully arranged blind date for Xu Muyao, but who would have thought that this guy would bring a girl with him.
Everyone present had sharp eyes and could tell at a glance that the girl was interested in him, but Xu Muyao remained aloof and tried his best to keep his distance from her, as if he wanted to avoid her at all costs.
The game began, and the empty wine bottle spun rapidly for more than ten rounds before slowly coming to a stop in front of Xu Muyao.
Amidst the cheers and jeers of the crowd, he chose dare.
“I’ll come up with the questions,” Su Wenqian said excitedly, jumping out immediately.
"Choose to make a heartfelt confession to any lady present and make eye contact for one minute. Of course, you can also choose to drink directly."
Before he finished speaking, a chorus of jeers immediately broke out, and everyone stared at Xu Muyao like hungry wolves.
Jiang Ye was then surprised to realize how wildly this group of people were playing. She wasn't the one who was supposed to be punished, but she couldn't help but feel nervous.
Without the slightest hesitation, Xu Muyao fearlessly picked up the bottle and began pouring the liquor, which was high-proof. If he were to drink three glasses in a row, he would probably have to be carried out of the hospital.
Jiang was so anxious that she kept stamping her feet. Seeing him pick up his wine glass, she quickly grabbed his arm.
You can't drink like that.
She knew he had just recovered from a serious illness.
She paused for a moment, then leaned down close to his ear and whispered, "You can confess to me, anyway... you treat me like a child, don't you?"
Xu Muyao looked up at her, his dark eyes filled with endless emotions. After a moment of silence, he gently pushed her hand away and gave her a slightly warning glare.
Without uttering a single wasted word, Xu Muyao tilted his head back and began gulping down the wine.
Amid cheers from the crowd, Xu Muyao completed his punishment as agreed.
After three cups of wine, Xu Muyao's eyes began to glaze over, like stars twinkling in the night sky, drifting aimlessly.
The game continues.
Whether it was intentional or a cruel twist of fate, the wine bottle came to a steady stop in front of Jiang Ye.
Su Wenqian's eyes were filled with undisguised excitement.
"Little sister, truth or dare?"
For safety's sake, Jiang also chose to tell the truth.
She casually flicked the wheel, and the scissors on the punishment wheel stopped at—Who is the person you like?
Jiang held her breath, her heart pounding as if it were about to leap out of her chest.
Should I confess my feelings now? What if I fail? What if he rejects me? Will I never see him again?
Jiang Ye's gaze kept darting towards Xu Muyao, and even those present who didn't have superhuman eyes could easily see that the answer was already obvious.
Xu Muyao remained as calm as a mountain, showing no emotion whatsoever, and completely ignoring Jiang Ye's shyness.
"I choose to drink."
Well, Jiang ultimately backed down at the last minute. She was unwilling to rashly open her heart to him; she never fought a battle she couldn't win.
"Since you're drinking alcohol, how about we have something milder, like red wine? It's good for your skin and complexion."
Su Wenqian glanced sideways at the silent man leaning back on the sofa, a sly smile playing on his lips.
Just as Jiang reached out, a large, slightly rough hand with distinct knuckles snatched the wine glass away.
“I’ll drink it for her,” Xu Muyao’s solemn voice rang out from the side.
Jiang suddenly turned around, her eyes flashing, and her heart began to pound uncontrollably again.
Xu Muyao didn't even glance at her, tilting his head back to drink the red wine in one gulp.
The surroundings fell silent instantly, and everyone could clearly feel the subtle atmosphere.
Is this... really Xu Muyao?! He actually shielded a girl from drinking!
The beautiful woman beside him leaned close to Su Wenqian's ear excitedly and whispered, "Brother Yao, are you going to break your vows and return to secular life?"
Su Wenqian's expression remained as lazy and nonchalant as ever. "Almost there."
After finishing his drink, Xu Muyao suddenly stood up, straightened his clothes, and said to everyone, "You all continue, we're leaving now."
After saying that, he reached out and grabbed that fair and slender wrist without hesitation, and strode towards the door.
Before Jiang could react, the warm hand on her wrist suddenly released her.
She blinked, gently stroking the spot where he had just grabbed her, as if she could still feel the lingering warmth.
His palms were warm, and his fingertips and palms were covered with calluses of varying degrees. Although they were a little rough, they made people feel incredibly at ease.
The two arrived at the tavern's entrance, where a cool breeze blew by the river, instantly clearing their minds.
"You've been drinking, let me call a designated driver for you." Jiang quickly took out his phone and swiped his fingers across the screen.
"No need, I've already called." Xu Muyao opened the car door, took a bottle of mineral water from the back seat, opened it, and took a big gulp.
"Brother Xu, thank you so much for taking the drinks for me."
"From now on, don't come to bars alone, or better yet, don't come at all. People who take advantage of your looks are everywhere, especially those who look respectable. Also, your sense of safety is too poor; you accept drinks from people who offer them to you."
Xu Muyao leaned against the car door, his eyes sharp as a hawk, his tone like that of a stern teacher educating a naive child.
He said such a long thing, but Jiang only caught four words: "Because you are beautiful."
So you think I'm pretty, right?
Jiang narrowed her doe-like eyes slightly, half-jokingly probing him, "What kind of girl do you like?"
