Chapter 207 Extra: Failure

Jiang shoveled rice into her mouth while sighing. Since her uncle was asking the question indirectly, she would just go along with it and answer indirectly as well.

"Uncle, if—and I mean if—a girl falls in love with a man fifteen years her senior, what do you think of that?"

Upon hearing this, Ye Fusheng paused in his actions, looked up at her, and asked, "This little girl isn't you, is she?"

Jiang's brow twitched, and she immediately waved her hand, "Of course not, haha, how could it be me? To tell you the truth, it's a friend of mine. She confessed her feelings to a man fifteen years her senior yesterday but was rejected. She asked me what to do?"

"So, you've been looking so worried these past few days because of this?"

"That's right. You know me, I love helping others, and I take after you in that respect. That's why they say a nephew is like his uncle."

Jiang, biting her chopsticks, looked at her uncle with a smile, waiting for his honest advice.

"If you confess your feelings and get rejected, it just means the other person doesn't like you. What else could be the reason for the rejection?"

Ye Fusheng stared at her hesitantly for a few seconds, "You seem quite concerned about your friend's relationship."

The uncle's inner monologue: "You little brat, this trick of making friends out of thin air is something your uncle has already mastered. Have you forgotten what your uncle does?"

"What was the man's reason for refusing? Tell us."

Jiang immediately put down her chopsticks, got up and moved to sit next to her uncle, saying, "I told him that the age gap between the two of us is too big and he minds it."

"Then what?"

"That's all. The other reasons all revolve around this one point."

Ye Fusheng nodded as if he was thinking seriously. "Then I think that as long as the other party hasn't explicitly said 'I don't like you,' those four words mean there's still hope."

Upon hearing this, Jiang was immediately overjoyed, her eyes gleaming with uncontrollable light.

"Ah Ye, this is some newly arrived flower tea. Try it and see if you like it." Xiao Fang's voice pulled Jiang Ye back from her reverie.

"Oh? Oh, okay, I'll try it, thank you."

She picked up the teacup, blew on it, and looked back at the front desk, but this time Xu Muyao was nowhere to be seen.

Jiang immediately put down her teacup, got up and walked quickly to the door. She held onto the door frame, stood still, and stared intently at the figure under the ginkgo tree not far away.
