Chapter 28 Half-Sister

Ever since that failed attempt to force herself on him that night, and her subsequent confession of her feelings, she seemed to have unlocked a new potential, becoming increasingly bold and fearless. Every time she faced him, she grew bolder, completely disregarding any concerns about saving face. After all, in her eyes, what was face compared to her husband?

She used every trick in the book, employing various flirting techniques, changing her approach daily. These actions left Song Yunzheng somewhat overwhelmed, forcing him to maintain a certain safe distance from her. In reality, he didn't do this out of shyness, but rather to give himself enough time to erase the already blurred image in his mind, not wanting it to pass by in a daze. However, Lin Yue mistakenly thought he was simply shy.

That evening, Song Yunzheng finished his work early and went home. After getting home, he took off his coat and casually hung it in the entryway, then put on slippers and went straight to the kitchen.

Seeing the busy figure in the kitchen, Lin Yue's eyes lit up. She quickly ran over and hugged his waist, gently rubbing her cheek against his strong back.

Song Yunzheng glanced down at the arm around his waist, sighed helplessly, and said softly, "Stop fooling around, I need to cook."

Lin Yue didn't care about anything else and continued to hold him tightly. Song Yunzheng had no choice but to let her hug him.

After a while, Lin Yue suddenly let go of his hand, walked to the side and sat down, resting her chin on her hand as she watched Song Yunzheng cook.

"Don't stay here, it's full of cooking fumes, go to the living room."

Lin Yue smiled and said, "It's nothing. I just wanted to see you cook. You look so handsome when you're working hard, and even more handsome when you're cooking for me. What should I do? I really want to hide you away so that other women won't covet you."

Song Yunzheng's lips curled up slightly, and he pursed his lips, keeping his head down and remaining silent. His hands never stopped moving. The little girl was getting better and better at sweet talk, which made him very happy.

As she watched, Lin Yue couldn't help but stand up again, walk to Song Yunzheng's side, hug him from behind, and start to do whatever she wanted. Her soft, boneless little hands touched his firm abs, and explored down along his V-line... If she couldn't eat him, she could at least take advantage of him, right?

Song Yunzheng was chopping vegetables when she made such a fuss, and he almost threw the knife away.

"Stand still!" he said through gritted teeth. "Have you no backbone? Get out! Didn't I tell you not to come into the kitchen?"

Lin Yue chuckled, obediently let go of his hand, and said, "So stingy..." before walking gracefully out of the kitchen.

Hearing this, Song Yunzheng was so angry he almost had a stroke. What kind of friends did this girl make at school? Who taught her all these weird tricks? It seems he should visit her school more often.

——

On Saturday, the badminton team members gathered in front of the venue early in the morning. Ji Huai, as the captain, was handing out safety pins and number tags to the team members, and everyone helped each other to pin them on their backs.

"Aren't you cold dressed like that?" Lin Yue looked at Jiang Li, who was only wearing a thin cheongsam, with concern and couldn't help but shiver.

Jiang Li shook her head, a smile playing on her lips: "Of course it's cold, but I can endure this hardship so that my little dog can have a successful start."

Lin Yue hunched her shoulders and pulled her wool coat tighter around herself, giving her a thumbs up: "You're amazing! The power of love is truly great. In this freezing weather, it's more effective than a down jacket."

Jiang Li smiled but didn't say anything. She knew what she was doing might be a little crazy, but just thinking about the look of surprise on his face when he saw her made it all worthwhile.

A cold wind howled past, and Jiang Li couldn't help but sneeze. Seeing this, Lin Yue quickly took off her scarf and handed it to her: "Put this on quickly, don't catch a cold."

Jiang Li took the scarf and looked at Lin Yue gratefully: "Thank you, Yuezai."

Lin Yue smiled and waved her hand: "No need to thank me, we're practically family. But speaking of which, you've put so much effort into dressing up, so make sure he gets a good look later."

Jiang Li nodded, her heart filled with anticipation. She believed today would be a wonderful day. Despite shivering from the cold, a relaxed and joyful smile remained on her face.

Seeing Jiang Li's blissful expression, Lin Yue's eyes were filled with envy and anticipation. "That's wonderful. I also want to experience your happiness soon, but my Dr. Song is like a stone, impossible to warm up." She teases him every day, but he reacts indifferently, showing little joy, and sometimes even gets angry, which makes her feel extremely frustrated. Fortunately, she has a strong ability to recover, otherwise she would have been driven crazy long ago.

Jiang Li took her hand and encouraged her, "Yes, you will. Good things come to those who wait. It's naturally difficult to win over a man like Dr. Song. Be patient, time will give you the answer."

Lin Yue nodded emphatically, "I'll do my best!" Then she hugged Jiang Li with a grin, "Come here, let me warm you up, don't get cold."

Ji Huai silently approached them with the number tag in his hand, looking at Lin Yue with tender eyes, and said softly, "Lin Yue, why don't you go in and find a seat? It's cold outside."

Upon hearing his words, Lin Yue turned around abruptly to look at him, her smile still lingering. She nodded gently, "Okay, thanks for the reminder." With that, she took Jiang Li's hand and walked towards the venue.

Upon entering the venue, they were surprised to find it already packed with people. The audience was enthusiastic, and the atmosphere was lively. Everyone had consciously formed lines according to their university; students from University B sat in section A, while students from University Q sat in section B.

Lin Yue and Jiang Li found their seats in Section A and chose a middle spot. They had barely settled in, their bottoms just touching the bench, when the athletes began to enter. Immediately, cheers and thunderous applause erupted throughout the stadium, igniting the atmosphere.
