Chapter 28 Half-Sister

Not to be outdone, Jiang Li immediately stood up and shouted her boyfriend's name with all her might, her face beaming with a sweet smile as she interacted enthusiastically with him.

Seeing this scene, Lin Yue felt a surge of envy again, and she longed to have such a sweet moment with Song Yunzheng.

The whistle blew, and the competition began. Cheng Shuyu was the first to take the stage, while Ji Huai stood behind him, watching the competition from the sidelines.

Just then, Ji Huai suddenly turned his head, his gaze falling directly on Lin Yue in the audience. His eyes gleamed, and a faint smile appeared on his lips. Then, he strode confidently into the audience.

"Lin Yue, come here for a moment." He stood at one end of the steps, not too far from her, and called out to her.

His shout immediately attracted the attention of many girls, including his number one fan, Gu Chaoyan. When she heard her idol call the name of the person she hated the most, her face turned green.

Lin Yue looked at him with some displeasure. What was he trying to do? This was far too attention-grabbing; she always preferred to keep a low profile. But annoyed as she was, considering he was going to bring honor to the school today, she reluctantly walked over. "What are you doing? So many people are watching!"

Ji Huai smiled indifferently, "What are you afraid of? We have no secret relationship."

Lin Yue glared at him, a hint of displeasure flashing in her eyes. "Don't talk nonsense. What did you call me here for?" She was a married woman, so naturally she had to be mindful of her words and actions. Besides, her heart and eyes were now completely occupied by Song Yunzheng, and she couldn't tolerate any other man.

"Just kidding, don't take it so seriously." Ji Huai smiled and stared at her, then said seriously, "Later... can you cheer me on loudly?"

"I'll cheer for all the team members from University B." Lin Yue waved, signaling him to hurry back to the field.

"When you call my name, speak louder. If I can't hear you, I'll pretend you're not cheering for me, and then I might lose my grip on the racket."

Hearing this half-threatening remark, Lin Yue laughed in anger, "Aren't you childish?"

Ji Huai stared intently at the girl before him, her smile as gentle as the wind. This was the first time she had smiled at him, a silent smile, yet it held immense preciousness for him. Knowing full well that an abyss lay ahead, he followed her relentlessly, as if possessed.

Just then, the check-in announcement came over the loudspeaker. Ji Huai gave her a deep look and said seriously, "Don't forget to cheer me on loudly!"

"Fine, fine, you can go now." Lin Yue was really annoyed by his childish behavior. Why did he have to yell at her like that? There were so many fans, he wouldn't miss her.

Back in her seat, Jiang Li suddenly leaned close to her ear and said mysteriously, "Yuezai, I have a feeling that Ji Huai is interested in you?"

"Huh? Don't scare me!" Lin Yue looked at Jiang Li with immediate wariness; after all, she was a married woman!

"Oh, I was just saying, don't take it seriously, don't take it seriously." Jiang Li quickly waved her hand. As someone with rich dating experience, she keenly sensed that Ji Huai's attitude towards Lin Yue was somewhat unusual. Although Lin Yue had always maintained a cold and distant attitude towards him, the way Ji Huai looked at Lin Yue could not deceive others; the tenderness in his eyes was almost overflowing.

Jiang Li sighed inwardly, unsure how to remind Lin Yue, worried that Lin Yue might get into trouble because of this. After all, she was already married, and it wouldn't be good if she were misunderstood or caused unnecessary trouble.

——

At halftime, B University was in the lead. During the break, Lin Yue got up and walked out, but Jiang Li suddenly grabbed her. "Where are you going?"

"Going to the restroom? You've drunk too much water. Do you need to go?"

Jiang Li quickly let go, "I don't need it, just go and come back quickly."

Feeling refreshed after finishing, I washed my hands and was about to leave when a pretty, innocent-looking girl walked up to me, blocking my way and smiling as she said, "Hello, are you Lin Yue?"

"It's me, is there something you need?" Lin Yue took two steps back warily, her mind involuntarily drifting to the fight she had with Gu Chaoyan in the bathroom. Could something like that happen again? What had she done to deserve this?

"Hello, sister. My name is Jiang Anxin, Lin Qingguo's daughter, and your half-sister. It's great to finally meet you in person." She smiled and extended her hand in a friendly gesture.

Sister? Half-sister? Ha, for 17 years after she turned 3, the role of her father was as if he had never existed, disappearing from her life. So the word "father" was as unfamiliar to her as a distant star in the sky.

Lin Yue's gaze suddenly froze, as if a pebble had been thrown into her heart, causing ripples. However, she desperately concealed these ripples, coldly staring at the person in front of her who claimed to be her sister. "I'm sorry, I have no father, and I certainly don't have a sister." With that, she stepped aside and walked away.

Jiang Anxin hurriedly caught up with her, grabbed her hand, and said anxiously, "Wait! It seems you resent your father, resent that he has never come back to see you and your mother even once in all these years, is that right?"

Lin Yue stopped and turned around abruptly, her gaze icy cold. Then, as if shaking off a filthy insect, she forcefully shoved Jiang Anxin's hand away, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "Remember this, he is your father, not mine! He doesn't deserve my resentment at all. Without love, how can there be hatred? If you hadn't mentioned him to me, I probably would have erased him from my memory."

Jiang Anxin, the heiress of Tianhua Group and a freshman at Q University, came to watch the game as a cheerleader. Unexpectedly, she bumped into the older sister her father often mentioned – what a wonderful coincidence!

"Why are you so hostile towards me? After all, we share the same man's blood; even broken bones are still connected." Jiang Anxin scrutinized Lin Yue from head to toe with a critical gaze, staring at her face, which was as beautiful as a lotus emerging from water. Jealousy grew wildly in her heart like weeds. Lin Qingguo was exceptionally handsome, which allowed him to successfully marry Jiang Zhenhua's daughter, Jiang Kerou, after abandoning his wife and daughter, becoming her live-in son-in-law.
