Song Yunzheng stood quietly, his face expressionless, but his heart was in turmoil. He lowered his eyes and glanced at Lin Yue out of the corner of his eye. "Sorry, I don't want to know. If there's nothing else, we'll be leaving now."
"You're a coward! Don't you even have the courage to ask clearly? Do you know how Wanwan has survived these past eight years?" Amy's voice grew increasingly agitated, tears welling in her eyes as if they were about to spill over at any moment.
Song Yunzheng stopped in his tracks, standing firmly in place. Veins bulged on his forehead, and his eyes became deep and serious. He unconsciously tightened his grip on Lin Yue's hand. Perhaps he used too much force, because Lin Yue couldn't help but hiss in pain. He then seemed to wake from a dream and hurriedly let go of her hand, apologizing, "I'm sorry, I hurt you."
Song Yunzheng's actions provoked Amy again. She snorted coldly, "You're so nervous about this little bit of pain? Do you know how much pain Wanwan is in?"
"Amy! That's enough! You've had too much to drink!" Meng Wanning frowned and spoke up to stop her, her voice filled with deep helplessness.

Amy paused, a bitter smile appearing on her face, a self-deprecating smirk playing on her lips. She turned her head, her gaze resolute as she looked at Song Yunzheng, her voice carrying a hint of determination and anger.
“She’s too scared to say it, so I’ll say it for her. Eight years ago, on your birthday, she was raped by a group of men on her way to find you!” Amy’s voice echoed in the air like a bombshell, plunging the entire space into a deathly silence.
Song Yunzheng turned around abruptly, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief. He stared intently at Meng Wanning, as if trying to find the answer in her face.
Meng Wanning's face was as pale as paper, her lips trembled slightly, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Amy wanted this reaction from him. She sneered and continued, "Do you know how she came back that night? She was like a broken doll, not a single part of her body was intact. She felt dirty. She didn't know if those people had any infectious diseases. AIDS has an incubation period of up to ten years. She didn't dare gamble, and she didn't dare tell you. She was afraid of holding you back, so she chose to run away, hiding abroad alone, and she's been hiding for eight years! Do you know how much suffering she endured abroad for those eight years?"
Every word that followed was like a sharp sword piercing Song Yunzheng's heart. His face turned ashen, his eyes filled with pain and self-reproach.
"How could this happen..." Song Yunzheng muttered to himself, his eyes quickly turning red, as if a large hand was tightly squeezing his heart, making it hard for him to breathe.
"Tell me, you've been searching for her so diligently for so many years, why can't you find even the slightest trace of her? With your extraordinary abilities and network of connections, tracking someone down shouldn't be difficult for you, right? But when did our Wanwan acquire such great power that she could evade your thorough search? Tell me, who has such ability and authority to do this? That's all I have to say. The decision is yours. Think it over carefully."
After Amy finished speaking, she smiled and was very satisfied with Song Yunzheng's reaction.
Then, pulling Meng Wanning away, he glanced at Lin Yue with pity as they passed by, as if looking at a wounded little animal...
