Chapter 54 No Need to Give Face

In a VIP ward at XH Hospital, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Song Yunzheng sat motionless by the bedside, holding Lin Yue's hand tightly, as if afraid he would lose her if he let go. In his other hand, he held a medical report, his gaze fixed on it, his eyes cold and distant.

“That girl is Jiang Xiaoxian’s granddaughter, named Jiang Anxin, 18 years old, a freshman at Q University. This matter may be difficult to handle, as Old Jiang has some connections with your father…” Tang Shiting’s words still echoed in my ears.

"Difficult to handle? When have I ever cared about these things? Since you can't discipline them, then I'll have to take over." Song Yunzheng said softly, his seemingly calm face hiding a raging anger, like a surging wave that could unleash a storm at any moment.

He slowly stood up, carefully tucking the blanket around her, his movements gentle, as if afraid of waking the sleeping woman. He picked up his phone and tiptoed out of the ward. When closing the door, he deliberately left a small crack so he could hear anything coming from inside.

Unlocking his phone, he found Song Yunxi's number and dialed it without hesitation. Song Yunxi's cheerful voice quickly came through the line: "Hey, brother, what's up?"

"Yunxi, has Chengye and Tianhua signed a contract for their collaborative project?" Leng Su's expression was cold, and his voice was devoid of any warmth.

Song Yunxi paused for a moment, then replied, "Not yet. I'm planning to send you the contract tomorrow so you can take a look."

Song Yunzheng's tone grew increasingly cold: "There's no need to sign the contract. You don't need to consider cooperating with Tianhua anymore."

Song Yunxi clearly sensed something was wrong with her brother's tone and asked worriedly, "Brother, what happened? Isn't it a bit inappropriate to do this? After all, we had already agreed on a cooperation agreement."

"I'll talk to you again when I have time. Remember, don't give them any face. That's all for now, bye."

Song Yunxi blinked, looking at her phone screen with a bewildered expression. "What's wrong? Everything was fine yesterday."

Since the boss had given the order, she had no choice but to comply. She glanced at the contract on her desk, picked it up without hesitation, tore it in half, and tossed it into the trash can.

After hanging up the phone, Song Yunzheng's face grew even more gloomy. He then dialed a second number. "Hello, Principal Zhou, I'm sorry to bother you so late."

"Yunzheng, what's up? You usually don't call me unless it's an emergency."

"It's nothing serious, I just wanted to ask you how Q University deals with students who are involved in kidnapping threats and cause serious harm to others?" Song Yunzheng said unhurriedly.

Principal Zhou was stunned, not quite understanding what Song Yunzheng meant, but still answered seriously: "If it is a student from Q University, then it will naturally be dealt with seriously. Our school will never allow such scum to exist."

"How should we handle this?"

"If the situation is serious and constitutes a criminal offense, the student will be expelled from the school."

"Okay, I have a medical report here. I'll have someone deliver it to your office tomorrow, along with the police officers. I'll need your cooperation then. I won't disturb your rest any longer. Goodbye."

Principal Zhou stared at the disconnected phone, a bad premonition creeping into his heart. Song Yunzheng, the boss behind Chengye Group, invested 40% of Q University's total annual budget. Just based on that alone, he couldn't afford to offend him, not to mention his family background. His father, Song Xinian, was a high-ranking central government official, someone he could only look up to. As the saying goes, a higher-ranking official can crush you; this was a direct crushing blow.

After everything was arranged, Song Yunzheng pushed open the door with a stern face. He looked up and saw Lin Yue staring at him with her clear and bright eyes. His originally cold and stern expression instantly softened with warmth.

"You're awake. Is there anything else that's bothering you?" Song Yunzheng walked over quickly and touched her still pale face.

Lin Yue licked her dry lips and shook her head. "No, when are we going home?"

Song Yunzheng got up and poured her a glass of water, feeding her with a straw. "You'll be staying overnight. You hit your head, so we'll observe you for the night. Also, you have a minor fracture in your ribs..." He paused briefly, sighed heavily, and looked at her with eyes full of self-reproach. "I'll pick you up from school from now on, okay?"

Lin Yue nodded, then shook her head. "You're making a promise now, but what if you can't keep it?"

"You don't trust me at all? If something happens, then let Song Yunxi pick you up. In any case, I won't let you go home alone."

"What if you forget?"

"Then you can do whatever you want with me, as long as you're happy."

"Okay, deal!" Lin Yue was so excited that she forgot the pain in her body and cheered with her hands raised. However, this action aggravated the wound in her chest, and a sharp pain came over her, making her cry out in pain.

Song Yunzheng panicked and quickly asked, "What's wrong? Where does it hurt? Where does it hurt?"

"Hehehe... It's nothing, it's nothing, I just accidentally tugged it." Lin Yue gently rubbed her chest and stuck out her tongue sheepishly.

"Why are you acting like a mischievous monkey? Can't you just lie down and rest?" Song Yunzheng leaned over and grabbed her hands tightly. The two looked at each other and suddenly fell silent.

"Why don't you ask me what happened today?" Lin Yue slowly broke the silence.

"No need to ask. She had the guts to kidnap you and hurt you like this, so she deserves to die!" Song Yunzheng's tone was as calm as still water, but his eyes were filled with a ruthless glint that instilled fear in people.
