The cold wind was still biting, like a sharp whip lashing the earth, but fortunately the sun shone brightly, like scattered gold. After the exams today, the winter vacation officially begins.
Early in the morning, Song Yunzheng took Lin Yue to school. Before getting out of the car, he repeatedly told her like an old father: "After the exam, don't wander around. Be a good girl and wait for someone to pick you up in the security room."

Sunlight streamed through the windows in the corridor, illuminating the floor and walls. Song Yunzheng walked at the front, his steps steady and confident, followed closely by two attending physicians, and then seven or eight interns. They formed a neat line and marched off to make their rounds.
The interns were all in high spirits, closely following Song Yunzheng's footsteps. They knew that this ward round would be a rare learning opportunity, allowing them to observe patients' conditions up close, understand treatment plans, and gain valuable experience from experts like Dr. Song.
Song Yunzheng suddenly stopped, looked at his phone, and turned to the two attending physicians. "I just received a notification that there is an emergency surgery that I need to perform. You can go do your rounds first." His tone was calm, and his eyes revealed no emotion.
After giving his instructions, Song Yunzheng rushed to the scene, changed into his surgical gown, and entered the operating room—another battle against time was about to begin…
At the school.
The bell rang, pens stopped, papers were handed in, and Lin Yue confidently walked out of the classroom. In stark contrast was Jiang Li beside her, who looked utterly defeated, as if her soul had been ripped away. She clung weakly to Lin Yue's arm, muttering repeatedly, "It's all over, it's all over! Yue-zai, look at me, don't I have two big red lanterns hanging on my forehead?"
Lin Yue couldn't help but laugh at her appearance. She stopped and playfully cupped her face in her hands, pretending to examine her seriously for three seconds before nodding solemnly, "Yes, it is..."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Li immediately deflated like a punctured balloon, her shoulders slumped, and she walked away with a mournful face, muttering to herself.
Lin Yue gently patted Jiang Li's shoulder, "Okay, don't scare yourself. Have confidence in yourself. Go on in, I have to go back too."
After watching Jiang Li walk into the dormitory building, Lin Yue immediately turned around and ran all the way to the school gate.
Song Yunxi sat in the car, looking towards the school gate through the window. When she saw Lin Yue walking over, she quickly opened the window, leaned out, and waved to her with a smile, "Little sister-in-law, get in the car quickly."
Lin Yue got into the car, skillfully fastened her seatbelt, and said with a hint of disappointment, "Song Yunzheng can't get away again?" Her voice revealed a faint sense of loss.
Song Yunxi maintained her smile and replied softly, "Yes, my brother said he suddenly received an emergency surgery and doesn't know when it will be finished. He specifically told me to come pick you up as soon as possible, since hospitals often have these kinds of unexpected situations. Please be understanding, sister-in-law."
Song Yunzheng promised her last night that he would take her out for hot pot after her exams today, and she had been looking forward to it all day. Okay, considering he saved her life, she wouldn't hold it against him.
"Yes, I understand." Lin Yue gave a reassuring smile.
"Oh, right, my brother told me to take you out for hot pot," Song Yunxi quickly added, noticing Lin Yue's somewhat downcast mood.
Upon hearing the words "hot pot," Lin Yue immediately sat up straight and looked at her, "Okay! Where to? Where to?" A smile instantly appeared in her eyes.

Song Yunxi stole a glance at her, her eyes filled with a hint of teasing. Her brother really understood his sister-in-law. Before mentioning hot pot, she was visibly disappointed, but as soon as hot pot was mentioned, her eyes lit up immediately. What an adorable sister-in-law.

Li Shuhua sat on the sofa, next to a handsome young man and a middle-aged woman with curly hair, who looked to be about the same age as Li Shuhua.
"Speak up, what exactly do you want?" Li Shuhua looked at the woman beside him and spoke helplessly, like a deflated balloon.
"Hmph, what do you want? That's what I should be asking you." The middle-aged woman glanced at Li Shuhua with disdain, then raised her chin high, adopting a self-righteous attitude. "At your age, you're still trying to act like a young woman and keep men. How shameless!"
"Don't talk nonsense! He and I are in a normal relationship! It's consensual! What do you mean by 'keeping a man'!" Li Shuhua stood up agitatedly, like a powder keg that had been lit.
Compared to Li Shuhua, the middle-aged woman was like a still pond, calm and composed. She gracefully raised her hand, admiring her newly done manicure, and said leisurely, "Putting everything else aside, my son is still a minor. For that alone, I can take you to court and accuse you of sexually assaulting a minor!"
The words "minor" struck Li Shuhua like a bolt from the blue, instantly throwing her into a panic. Her eyes flickered involuntarily. "He told me he was 20 when we were together!" she suddenly exclaimed, grabbing the man beside her. "Ye Cheng, say something! Why are you pretending to be mute now?! Aren't you usually quite talkative?!"
Ye Cheng forcefully pushed away Li Shuhua's outstretched hand and calmly said, "Auntie, I only turned 17 in August according to my ID card. I told you my age before that it was the traditional Chinese age."
