Chapter 68 The War Without Gunfire

Song Yunzheng's eyes were drawn to the little figure in front of him as if by a magnet, his dark eyes trembling slightly, and his gaze unconsciously becoming as deep as a pool.

"What are you looking at?!" Lin Yue glared at him, snatched the clothes from his hands, turned and walked into the bedroom, slamming the door shut with a loud "bang".

Song Yunzheng was turned away and couldn't help but shake his head and smile bitterly, saying to himself, "Song Yunzheng, Song Yunzheng, I never thought you'd end up like this. You really brought it on yourself..."

Without a doubt, until the little girl's anger subsided, he could only obediently play the role of "director." This long night, without her in his arms, made falling asleep exceptionally difficult. Some habits are like that, like spring rain, silently nourishing and taking root in the heart. On ordinary days, you don't notice anything special, but once changed, they surge forth like a flood bursting its banks.

The next morning, the sky outside the window remained gloomy, as if shrouded by a huge gray curtain. Song Yunzheng got up early, and with heavy eyelids, went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the little girl.

By the time he brought breakfast to the table, Lin Yue had already tidied herself up and gracefully walked out of the bedroom. She walked straight across the table without looking to either side, showing no intention of stopping to eat.

"Yueyue!" Song Yunzheng hurriedly called out to her, "You don't need to rush to work. It's okay if you're late. Eat first, and I'll take you there later." His voice was exceptionally gentle.

Lin Yue stopped and turned around, her gaze falling on the dining table. There were sandwiches and hot milk on the table, and two extra golden and crispy fried eggs on the plate. The tempting aroma of the eggs wafted into her nose, and she couldn't help but swallow, forcing herself to remain calm as she looked away.

"Thank you, but I'm not interested in these. I'm going out to eat."

“Okay, then I’ll go with you.” Song Yunzheng quickly took off his apron, put on his clothes and shoes, and followed closely behind.

Song Yunzheng drove, following Lin Yue's directions. If she said east, he would never go west; the car finally came to a smooth stop in front of a spicy hot pot restaurant…

Lin Yue got out of the car and went straight into the store. Song Yunzheng's face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot, but he didn't dare to say a word of dissatisfaction. He could only purse his lips and follow her in step by step, looking exactly like a wronged little wife.
