Lin Yue was so happy she almost forgot herself. Not only was Song Yunzheng alive, but he could also wipe away her tears. How wonderful! She cried and laughed like a child.
The two nurses exchanged a glance, their reactions mirroring those of the nurse at the information desk—eyes wide with shock. Dr. Song got married?! Dr. Song got married!!! Looks like another bunch of people are going to be heartbroken.
Song Yunzheng nodded to the two nurses, "You're busy." Then he led Lin Yue out of the emergency building.
At the corner of the stairwell, Song Yunzheng suddenly stopped, turned around, gazed tenderly at Lin Yue, and asked softly, "Are you still angry with me?"
Lin Yue slowly raised her eyes, which were still red from crying, and looked at the scratches between his eyebrows. A wave of worry washed over her, and she frowned slightly. "Does it hurt?"
"Um?"
"Does it hurt here?" Lin Yue stretched out her slender fingers and gently touched his injured area.
Song Yunzheng smiled slightly, his eyes gentle. "It doesn't hurt." However, his gaze remained fixed on Lin Yue. "Are you still angry with me?"
After such a fright, her mood fluctuated wildly, like riding a rollercoaster. Her anger had long since dissipated, but she didn't want Song Yunzheng to easily notice it.
Lin Yue gently shook her head, pouted, and said in a muffled voice, "It's still a little bit alive."
Looking at her adorable, coy demeanor, Song Yunzheng couldn't help but laugh. He suddenly remembered what Song Yunxi had once told him, "Flowers, diamonds, jewelry—no girl could resist them..."
"Let's go, I'll take you somewhere." Song Yunzheng held Lin Yue's hand tightly and led her towards the front door. Uncle Wu had been waiting there for a long time.
Seeing Song Yunzheng approach, Uncle Wu respectfully greeted him, "Young Master..."
Song Yunzheng immediately made a "shh" gesture, signaling Uncle Wu not to call him that outside.
Uncle Wu nodded knowingly and then handed the car keys to Song Yunzheng.
Song Yunzheng took the keys, politely thanked Uncle Wu, then opened the car door and let Lin Yue get in first.
After getting in the car, Lin Yue looked at the scenery rushing past the window and slowly asked, "Where are you taking me?"
"You'll know when we get there," Song Yunzheng said with a smirk, continuing to keep everyone in suspense.
The car sped along and finally stopped in front of a jewelry store. Song Yunzheng took Lin Yue's hand and they went inside together.
The store manager spotted them from afar and immediately greeted them with a warm smile, "Distinguished guests, Mr. Song, what would you like to buy today? Wedding rings? Here they are, our newly arrived style, a very unique design, with diamonds set inside, absolutely understated."
As the store manager spoke, he led them to the display case to showcase the latest ring designs.
Lin Yue was captivated by the exquisite diamond ring before her, and at the same time, she was filled with admiration for the shop manager. Song Yunzheng hadn't even spoken yet, and he already knew what he wanted to buy. No wonder he was the shop manager; he understood his customers perfectly.
She carefully examined each ring, secretly admiring the designer's ingenuity and craftsmanship. Song Yunzheng, meanwhile, stood to the side with a smile in his eyes, his gaze fixed on Lin Yue, observing her reaction.
"Do you like it?" Song Yunzheng smiled slightly and held one of the rings up to her.
Why did you suddenly buy matching rings?
"We've been married for so long without buying wedding rings, which has led many people to mistakenly believe I'm single. It's my fault. Wearing rings will let everyone know I'm married and dispel those thoughts," Song Yunzheng explained earnestly, a sly glint in his fox-like eyes.
Of course, he wouldn't tell her his true thoughts. What he really wanted to dispel was the wicked intentions other men might have towards her. She was only twenty, in the prime of her youth, a time for fun and adventure. He knew all too well how popular she was, especially after seeing her having dinner with Mo Yanhuan. A sense of crisis instantly overwhelmed him; he wished he could get rid of that guy right then and there!
Hearing this, Lin Yue felt a surge of excitement, but she forced herself to remain calm and jokingly said, "So even the seemingly aloof Dr. Song can be narcissistic."
Song Yunzheng chuckled softly, "Hmm, do you like the ring?"
"Hmm, it looks pretty good. I like things simpler." To be honest, this style really suited her aesthetic. It was simple yet elegant, understated yet luxurious.
Song Yunzheng turned to look at the store manager and nodded in acknowledgment.
The store manager immediately understood, and with a big smile, gestured for Mr. Song to come this way.
After paying, Song Yunzheng skipped the cumbersome packaging and couldn't wait to put the ring on his ring finger. His hands were already fair and slender with well-defined joints, and the ring made them look even more precious.
Then, he turned to Lin Yue, gently and solemnly took her hand, picked up another ring, and carefully placed it on her ring finger.
Looking at the sparkling rings on their ring fingers, the smile on his lips widened even more. Now that's what a married couple should look like.
“If I ever upset you again, go buy jewelry, diamonds, and gold—the most expensive stuff. You have to let your anger out; don't bottle it up. You can't risk your life and health. Take it out on money, okay?” Song Yunzheng suddenly bent down and whispered in Lin Yue's ear. He deliberately enunciated each word, his voice low and tender, a mixture of laughter and…coaxing.
His lips brushed lightly against her earlobe, his warm breath sending a shiver through Lin Yue's heart...
She turned around coquettishly, her lips curving upwards in an irrepressible smile, looking utterly harmless. With a light leap, she landed on his waist, wrapped her arms around his neck, and planted a kiss on the corner of his lips. "Alright, then I won't be polite."
