Chapter 95 Treating Guests to Dinner

Lin Yue stayed in the hospital for two days before Song Yunzheng took her back to Courtyard No. 15. After a miscarriage, she needed meticulous care, just like during postpartum confinement. With Zhou Lirong and Zhang Ma by her side, providing two additional warm safeguards, Song Yunzheng felt more at ease.

At school, Song Yunzheng promptly requested a month's leave for her. Jiang Li even volunteered to take good notes in class and record her audio, waiting for her to return in full swing.

Lin Yue didn't know how long she had slept, but when she opened her eyes, the sunlight outside the window shone like gold, and the sky was like a bright blue gem. Her mood naturally became cheerful.

After the start of spring, the amount of sunshine gradually increases, and the times when the sun rises and sets in the sky also gradually change.

She got up and slowly walked to the windowsill, looking up to bask in the sunlight, her lips slightly upturned, and even her eyes were filled with joy.

"Yueyue, are you up?" Zhou Lirong's gentle voice came from outside the door.

Lin Yue turned around, walked briskly over, opened the door, and saw her mother-in-law holding a large bowl of steaming chicken soup.

"You look great today. Are you hungry? Mom has been making you chicken soup all morning. Come and drink it while it's hot."

Feeling a little embarrassed for sleeping so late, Lin Yue quickly took the bowl from Zhou Lirong's hand, saying, "Thank you, Mom."

"Silly child, don't be so polite with your mother. It's only right that I take care of you. I just feel sorry for you."

Zhou Lirong sighed silently in her heart, "And my grandson who was not meant to be with me..." She dared not say these words to Lin Yue's face. No one suffers more from the pain of losing a child than the child's mother.

Lin Yue smiled slightly, held the bowl, and drank it eagerly, not even caring whether she had brushed her teeth.

When Song Yunzheng got off work and went home, the night was already as thick as ink, and the clock had quietly struck eight o'clock in the evening.

"Son, you're back! Have you eaten yet? Would you like Aunt Zhang to make you something?"

Zhou Lirong got up from the sofa, walked over, took the coat from his hand, and helped him hang it up.

"I ate at the hospital cafeteria." He turned to look at the living room, his eyes searching for Lin Yue. "Is Yueyue asleep?"

Zhou Lirong nodded slightly, "After finishing my meal, I sat in the living room for a while before going back to my room to rest."

Song Yunzheng nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, you should get some rest too." With that, he quickly walked into the bathroom, and soon the sound of running water could be heard…

As I entered the bedroom, I heard Lin Yue's even breathing. There was a small bulge on the bed, a tiny ball curled up there.

"Son, come out for a moment, Mom has something to tell you." Zhou Lirong gently pushed open the door, pulled Song Yunzheng into the living room, and whispered something to him.

"Son, I have to warn you, Yueyue just had a miscarriage a month ago. You have to be careful and control yourself. If you really can't help it, then sleep in a separate room."

Song Yunzheng rolled his eyes speechlessly and asked irritably, "Mom, what does your son do for a living?"

"I know you're an OB-GYN, but you're also a man full of vigor."

"Alright, alright, stop worrying about these things. Your son isn't that much of a beast. You should go back to your room and rest." Song Yunzheng said, pushing her towards her room like a duck.

Back in the room, Lin Yue was leaning against the headboard, her big eyes blinking as she stared at him intently.

"Did I wake you up?" Song Yunzheng walked over slowly, lifted the blanket, lay down on his side, and pulled her into his arms.

Lin shook her head. "No, I've been sleeping too much lately."

Song Yunzheng gently stroked her silky long hair and said softly, "Are you bored staying at home? Let Mom take you shopping tomorrow. Tell her where you want to go."

"Is it okay?" Lin Yue suddenly sat up straight, looking at him expectantly.

"sure."

"I thought..."

"Did you think it would be like postpartum confinement, where you're not allowed to go out?"

Song Yunzheng smiled slightly, revealing a doting expression, and gently pinched the tip of her nose. "It's still very cold outside. You just need to keep warm and not catch a cold. Going out for a walk is good too."

Lin Yue smiled contentedly and snuggled into his arms again. "Have you been very busy lately? You've been leaving early and coming home late every day."

Song Yunzheng held her hand tightly and uttered two words softly, "Yes."

"Hasn't Chen Kun's matter been resolved?"

"Chen Kun's matter has been resolved; he's busy with other things."

He took Meng Wanning's words to heart. Chen Kun had taught him a harsh lesson this time. He didn't know how many venomous snakes were lurking around him, or when they would suddenly jump out and bite him. He had to be vigilant at all times.

To prevent Lin Yue from pressing him for details, Song Yunzheng suddenly reached out and touched the spot that tickled her. "Since you can't sleep, let's play a game."

"A tickling game? That's not fun, I don't want to play." Lin Yue giggled as she nimbly dodged, quickly grabbing his hand to stop him from touching her.

"So, are you going to sleep or not?"

"Sleep, sleep, sleep, I'll sleep, okay?"

Song Yunzheng then stopped, hugged her, and kissed her forehead. "That's a good girl. Goodnight."

A moment later, Lin Yue felt a deep, heavy breathing behind her ear. She didn't dare to move, afraid of waking him. She enjoyed the embrace and cherished everything in front of her.

——

A month passed in the blink of an eye, and Lin Yue's body had fully recovered. In fact, under her mother-in-law's meticulous care, she was even a little plumper than before; it was as if the flesh had been magically transferred to her chest...
