September 6th, the day before school starts.
Lin Yue sat on the toilet early in the morning, clutching her stomach, and didn't come out for a long time. Every month, she would experience this kind of unbearable pain for a few days, feeling nauseous, vomiting, and suffering from unbearable abdominal pain.
Li Shuhua had prepared breakfast and put it on the table, but Lin Yue still hadn't come out of the bathroom. She clicked her tongue in disapproval, walked over, and knocked on the door. "Knock, knock, knock..."
"Yueyue, you're staying here? Come out for breakfast, I'll take you to school later."
"Okay..."
After a while, the bathroom door finally opened, and Lin Yue walked out weakly. She slowly walked to the dining table and sat down. Looking at the congee, side dishes, and fried egg that she used to love, she had no appetite and even felt nauseous because of menstrual cramps.
"Yueyue, what's wrong? Did you get your period?"
Looking at her pale-faced daughter, Li Shuhua couldn't help but recall the time when her menstrual cramps were at their worst, when she fainted in the classroom, frightening her teachers and classmates.
Without a second thought, she stood up and started packing her things. "Come on, Mom will take you to the hospital. Let's go now. Something's clearly wrong with you. You look like you've lost too much blood."
"Oh? No need, I'll just go back to my room and lie down for a while."
As she spoke, she stood up, but before she could stand up properly, everything went black. She quickly grabbed the edge of the table and it took her more than ten seconds for her vision to clear.
After that scare, I'm behaving myself now, I'm going to the hospital! Right now!
Li Shuhua drove Lin Yue directly to the outpatient department of XH Hospital. When they saw the long queue at the registration desk on the first floor, they couldn't help but gasp. But it was nothing, just a small matter. They would wait patiently.
"Dr. Yu, in the first gynecology consultation room."
"OK, thanks."
After finally getting a number, there were still dozens of people ahead of me in line. There was nothing I could do but wait since I was already here. This hospital is always packed with people, no matter when you come.
Li Shuhua sat on the bench outside the clinic waiting for her number to be called. Lin Yue found a quiet corner, clutched her stomach, and curled up on the chair. Even though it was hot outside, she felt cold all over, with her hands and feet icy.
The corridor in front of the gynecology clinic was packed with people, and the waiting area was full, with new patients constantly joining the queue.
At this moment, the once bustling corridor suddenly fell silent. A tall figure in a white coat walked against the light from the end of the corridor. Although he was wearing a mask, his fox-like eyes, as bright as starlight, easily captured everyone's attention. It was not hard to guess that the face under the mask must be very handsome. As a result, the patients waiting for their numbers to be called turned their heads in unison, like well-trained soldiers, and watched him go from ten meters away.
Upon seeing this, the nurse at the triage desk quickly stood up, nodded shyly, and asked, "Dr. Song, are you here to cover for Dr. Yu?"
"Yes." The short, concise answer was just like his style of doing things.
Song Yunzheng pushed open the door to a consultation room and went inside. When Dr. Yu saw him come in, she immediately got up to greet him.
"Dr. Song, thank you so much for your help! An extra surgery was suddenly added to the schedule, so I have to go perform the surgery. I also have to make house calls to see patients later. I'm really overwhelmed!" Dr. Yu said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
Song Yunzheng smiled and waved, "It's alright, you go ahead and get busy, I'll take care of things here." After saying that, he went straight to his desk to start working.
Dr. Yu gave him a grateful look, then turned and hurriedly left the clinic.
...
"Please come to consultation room one for your consultation," the announcement repeatedly called out Lin Yue's name.
Li Shuhua quickly stood up, only to find that Lin Yue was not beside him. After looking around, he finally found her hunched over in a chair not far away.
"Yueyue, what are you doing here? Mom has been looking for you for ages. Come on, it's our turn now. Let's not keep the doctor waiting too long."
Lin Yue struggled to her feet, clutching her stomach, and slowly walked to the examination room, pushed open the door, and went inside.
"Hello, Dr. Yu."
She nodded, her face pale. Her stomach was aching terribly, and she had no interest in looking at the handsome man. Naturally, she didn't notice that the person sitting in front of her was not Dr. Yu, but her new husband, Dr. Song.
"Yes, sit down," Song Yunzheng said in a deep voice.
As soon as she entered the door, Song Yunzheng recognized her.
It's true what they say, people destined to meet can meet anywhere. Isn't this his newlywed wife, Lin Yue, whom he had just registered his marriage with not long ago? They hadn't seen each other for half a month and hadn't been in touch, yet they bumped into each other here.
She seemed to be in a bad state, and Song Yunzheng couldn't help but feel a little worried.
"Where do you feel unwell?" He flipped through the medical record book that Li Shuhua handed him.
"My stomach hurts." Lin Yue was so tormented by the pain that she was somewhat delirious, so she responded incoherently.
Song Yunzheng frowned slightly, stood up and walked to her side, bent down and gently pressed her abdomen, "Is it here?"
At such close range, his cunning fox-like eyes magnified infinitely before Lin Yue's eyes. Hmm? Why does he look so familiar? Where have I seen him before? She frowned, thinking hard.
His fingers were warm, and when they touched Lin Yue's skin, she suddenly blushed.
"Doctor, I have menstrual cramps." Lin Yue quickly explained the problem, afraid that the doctor would continue to press on her stomach.
Song Yunzheng glanced at her and sat back down in his original seat.
"What day of your period?"
"The first day is always the most painful; it gets better after that," Lin Yue answered truthfully.
Do you often drink cold drinks?
"Uh...yes." Like someone caught doing something wrong, Lin Yue's voice trailed off.
