Three years later, it was another summer.
Lin Yue accepted her mentor's advice and continued to pursue her doctoral studies, working tirelessly every day.
That day, Song Yunzheng finished his work at the hospital early. He glanced at his watch and saw that it was still early, so he decided to go directly to the school to pick up Lin Yue from school.
Stepping into the elevator, the man in the mirror exuded a somber, ascetic aura. He wore the same white shirt and black trousers as always, his hair was meticulously styled, and his eyes were sharp and cold, giving him the appearance of a cool and aloof middle-aged man who was unapproachable.
After getting into the car, he immediately changed his mind and decided he needed to go back to Courtyard No. 1 to tidy himself up.
After taking a shower, styling his hair, and changing out of his dull shirt and trousers for a casual and refreshing outfit, he instantly looked several years younger, and no one could tell that he was 35 years old.
Lately, Lin Yue has been so busy she's been spinning like a top, barely having time to breathe, and she's completely ignoring him, let alone showing him any affection...
He decided to dress up carefully and pick her up from school, hoping to attract her attention and pull her away from her academic pursuits.
Song Yunzheng smiled at the person in the mirror, raised his hand to style his hair, then picked up the perfume from the bathroom counter and sprayed it into the air.
B University has many routes, and having not set foot there for a long time, it felt somewhat unfamiliar. As Song Yunzheng approached the School of Finance, he dialed Lin Yue's number, but no one answered.
She ran right into her former mentor. Song Yunzheng didn't have a deep impression of him, but her mentor recognized him from afar.
"Dr. Song, are you here to see Lin Yue? She's not at the academy; she went to the badminton hall."
Song Yunzheng nodded and smiled politely, "Okay, thank you."
"No need to be so polite," the tutor waved his hand.
After saying goodbye to his mentor, Song Yunzheng turned and walked towards the badminton hall.
As he passed the basketball court, his gaze was drawn to the young figures running and jumping on the court, and his eyes unconsciously revealed a look of admiration.
Back in the day, he was a formidable small forward who commanded respect from all sides. Now, looking back, it seems like it's been a long time since he's touched a basketball, and he wonders if he can still shoot as accurately as before.
His thoughts were churning, and before he knew it, he had stepped onto the basketball court.
The afterglow of the setting sun spilled onto the field, where figures raced, collided, and leaped in the sunlight.
"Beep beep..." The whistle blew, and the boys on the field had finished the first half of the game and were taking a break.
"Oh no, my leg is cramping." A boy wearing a number 7 jersey looked slightly pained.
"Are you alright? If you're not feeling well, go to the infirmary and get checked out. I'll find someone to replace you on the field."
The speaker was a young boy in a jersey with the number 8, whose face looked somewhat immature. He was turning around, looking for someone who shared his ideals.
He spotted Song Yunzheng in the crowd at a glance, and without hesitation, he stepped forward with a smile, "Hi classmate, would you be interested in joining us?"
"How did you know I could play ball?" Song Yunzheng smiled and glanced down at his energetic sportswear.
"My gut feeling tells me you're a good fighter, so, do you know how to fight?"
Under the expectant gaze of the boy with number 8, Song Yunzheng glanced back at the direction of the badminton hall, then quickly scanned the basketball court, his thin lips slightly parted: "I'll give it a try."
The boy with number 8 excitedly ran back to his teammates to tell them the news. Within three seconds, all the boys' eyes turned to him, some with curiosity, some with admiration, and some with doubt...
Song Yunzheng raised an eyebrow and met the gazes of the group of boys who were even younger than his wife with composure.
A whistle blew, halftime ended, and the boys returned to the field one after another, among them a middle-aged man pretending to be a boy...
As the game progressed, crowds surged to the basketball court, until it was completely packed. In the front row, there was even a spontaneously organized team of beautiful cheerleaders shouting encouragement at the top of their lungs.
"Great shot! Ah! Another three-pointer! The guy in the gray tracksuit looks so handsome!"
The young players on the field almost lost themselves in the cheers.
When Song Yunzheng joined the game, the stands erupted in cheers.
The cheerleaders started screaming, clapping, and kicking and stomping their legs.
"Ah! So handsome! He's practically a monster! When did our school discover such an incredibly handsome guy? Secretary Wu, I need all his information within three minutes!"
"He's so handsome! The moment he came on stage, all the other men paled in comparison!! But he doesn't look like someone from our school at all."
"Heavens above, when will I be able to date such an incredibly handsome man? I'd gladly trade twenty pounds of my own flesh for him!"
The pretty girls in the stands were chattering and cheering excitedly.
Lin Yue came out of the badminton hall. Today she rarely had a moment of free time, so she quickly came to the badminton hall to relax.
As I passed by the basketball court, I was immediately drawn in by the vibrant atmosphere inside.
"What's going on? I've never seen the basketball court this lively in all my years at school. Could it be that a celebrity has come?"
Lin Yue, eager to see what the commotion would be like, crouched down and squeezed into the crowd.
The man's confident and ostentatious smile was as dazzling as the setting sun; one glance was enough to captivate you.
She finally understood why there were so many people at the stadium.
She crossed her arms, her beautiful eyes fixed on Song Yunzheng as he leaped high into the air. His pure white T-shirt fluttered in the wind, revealing his firm and toned abs, once again igniting the entire audience with deafening screams that seemed to pierce the sky.
"Ah!!! I can't take it anymore, I'm about to be smitten by the guy in the white T-shirt." One girl leaned on another girl's shoulder. "I finally understand what it feels like to have my heart stop. I'm going to die. I have to get the handsome guy's contact information to save me."
