As Xu Muyao stepped into his home, the pitch-black darkness enveloped the entire house, making it even more tranquil. Even the sounds of car horns on the road outside seemed amplified several times over, reaching his ears.
He didn't turn on the light, but slowly walked to the balcony. "Snap..." With a crisp sound, the lighter spat out a cluster of eerie blue flames, like ghostly fire.
He lit a cigarette but didn't smoke it. He just watched it burn quietly, the flickering sparks illuminating his eyes hidden in the darkness.
He opened the window, letting the smoke drift out. The evening breeze gently caressed his face. At this moment, he was a lonely man forgotten by the world, but he had long been accustomed to solitude and had begun to learn to find his own peace and beauty in it.
He turned around, extinguished his cigarette, took out his phone, and opened WeChat. At the top of the chat list, there was an unfamiliar profile picture and name.
I remember scanning the QR code to add you on WeChat before getting off the bus.
He clicked on the girl's WeChat Moments on a whim. There weren't many selfies; most of them were pictures of food and scenery. The few selfies he did see only showed her profile.

"Let's go to the hospital."
Xu Muyao grabbed her by the other arm like a chick, rushed to the front desk, grabbed the car keys, and dashed out the door.
Jiang sat in the car, secretly delighted, and even wanted to thank the two children. They weren't naughty kids at all; they were practically little angels sent by the God of Love!
If they hadn't caused this scene, she wouldn't have known what excuse to use to get closer to him.
Xu Muyao took her to XH Hospital without stopping. They registered at the emergency department, where they were seen by a handsome male doctor.
"What burned you?" the doctor asked.
Jiang also said: "Hot tea."
Did you take a shower immediately?
"Yes, it took at least five minutes to rinse."
