Chapter 26

Chapter 26

Reinforcements arrived; the battle is over.

Looking into Chuuya Nakahara's blue eyes, Fuyuki blinked and raised his hand to point out the direction of the battlefield to him.

Although the current Gravity Master is not yet fully developed, it is still a force to be reckoned with and does not need to be protected from all storms.

Fuyuki leaned against the wall and looked down at the person next to her. Dazai Osamu had taken her previous seat, so she had to settle for sitting next to him. This way, she could see Dazai Osamu's expression more clearly.

Dazai Osamu leaned back against the wall, looking completely listless. His face, partially covered by bandages, appeared unusually calm, as if he were spacing out.

Looking at his gloomy face, Fuyuki waved his hand and released several points of spiritual energy that stuck to his face. Dazai Osamu frowned and tried to drive the points away, but when he realized he couldn't, he gave up and let them stick to his face.

"What’s wrong with you?"

"fine."

Dazai Osamu replied in a muffled, weak voice, as if something strange had enveloped him, isolating him from the world.

Fuyuki felt something was strange, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

Neither of them spoke again. Dongshu sat there, looking up at the only calm crescent moon. For some reason, the crescent moon looked clearer and brighter than usual.

"Why do you insist on saving me?"

A soft, scattered light illuminated the earth; the moonlight here seemed much stronger than elsewhere, and Dongshu's eyes brightened as he looked at the moon.

She pondered without answering his question.

Under the moonlight, her eyes grew even brighter, and she stared at the moon as if she could see right through it.

Dongshu's small figure stretched long in the moonlight. Suddenly, she stood up, took two steps forward, and then stopped.

"I'm just doing what I do."

—She just wanted to complete the task.

Dazai Osamu lowered his gaze, his eyes calm: "That's a really unreasonable reason."

Following the path she had come from, Dongshu walked slowly for a while, sensing an unfamiliar source of spiritual energy and some familiar people.

Two figures stood under a tree not far away, talking occasionally. Their spiritual energy range overlapped with hers, but it did not repel her.

"that......"

One of the familiar figures turned to look at her from behind, raised his hand in greeting, and said, "Hey, Fuyuki, how lucky to meet you here."

Unexpectedly, it was Qinghe.

Qinghe belongs to the Support Section of the Original Department. Apart from going into battle, when other Saniwa encounter problems that they cannot solve on their own, the government will issue orders for them to go into battle immediately.

Qinghe sighed helplessly, "Well, that's how it is. I only found out that this unlucky guy was you when I arrived in this world."

Fuyuki didn't know what to say: "What an unlucky guy..."

Suddenly, the man standing behind Qinghe patted his shoulder, leaned closer, and smiled, "Oh, Dongshu, right? What a lovely little girl. Hezi, where did you meet such a cute little girl?"

Qinghe winced in pain and tried to struggle: "Haha, Dongshu, let me introduce you, this is my partner, Xuange."

Observing the way the two were interacting, Dongshu thought for a moment, then took a step back and quickly said, "Uncles, please continue. I'll be going now."

Watching the young Saniwa flee as if his life was slipping away, Xuan Ge's face stiffened: "...Uncle? Do I look old enough to be called uncle?"

"Who knows... Oh! Oh! My shoulder!"

"You're all from the martial arts faction, how come you're so thin and weak..."

With reinforcements, the Time Travel Army's actions were quickly halted. Qinghe sheathed her sword, took out the props given to her by the government, and found that the ancient compass was filled with the marks of time and space, and the intricate and gorgeous engravings highlighted its extraordinary nature.

Once activated, a tremendous force surged into the sky, causing an ominous vortex to be forcibly blocked. Something black struggled, but was mercilessly suppressed.

Qinghe wiped non-existent sweat from her forehead: "Work's finished!"

Xuan Ge used his spiritual power to calm the longbow in his hand. The bowstring was stained with blood and had turned completely brownish-red. Wherever his spiritual power passed, drops of blood were dripped out.

He glanced up at the temporarily calm sky above, his hands still moving: "Let's just leave the rest to the world."

Well, it's hard to say.

Qinghe opened the terminal and looked at the task completion message on the interface: "Anyway, we're done with this, let's go back."

"Without saying hello?"

"Look at the spiritual energy around her; she already knows we're leaving."

"Too."

It has a strong presence.

Fuyuki definitely felt it.

The sky returned to calm, and everything was as peaceful and harmonious as a normal night.

She turned to ask, "Dazai, are you going home?"

Dazai Osamu looked up at her, squatted there, tilted his head, and looked at her with those eyes that had held the moon for so long: "Of course."

"Then I'll go home too." Fuyuki nodded, got up, and left.

Everything had calmed down. With the departure of the two Saniwa, the reinforcing Tsukumogami also died at the same time.

She saw her tsukumogami, the people who fought together gathered together, and even Tsurumaru Kuninaga, who had never been with them before, blended in perfectly, chatting from time to time, but his eyes were always looking in one direction, intentionally or unintentionally.

...They are waiting.

On the quiet road, Dongshu quickened her pace, her eyes bright: "I'm here."

What they received was an overwhelming throng of tsukumogami (spirits who swarm around them).

"Master, victory is presented to you!"

"You defeated the enemy well!"

"Master, Master, can I pat your head?"

"Do you like this surprise?"

"..."

The spirits spoke to the master one after another, and looking at their master whom they hadn't seen for a long time, they couldn't control their desire to get close to the master, even if it was just a single word.

Dongshu nodded repeatedly in response, the chatter never ceasing, it was incredibly lively.

Where the Saniwa (master of the spirit) is, that is where the Tsukumogami (spirits) think.

"This is really something, Fuyuki..." Dazai Osamu leaned against the big tree, the thick trunk and the darkness of the night becoming his best tools for disguising himself.

A sense of gloom welled up in Iris-colored eyes; his lips drooped, his face darkened, and he felt inexplicably irritable.
