Chapter 16

Chapter 16

The world loves you

Gokotai confronted the mechanical samurai, but he was still somewhat outmatched and was being suppressed. He could only try his best to lure the mechanical samurai away so that it would not affect the Saniwa standing to the side.

Chuuya Nakahara tried to attack the girl directly, but was blocked by the newly appeared Mecha Samurai No. 2. Mecha Samurai No. 2 was no different from the previous one and was equally troublesome.

He vaguely remembered the two children; they were the ones who had helped Dazai Osamu last time, and they also belonged to the Port Mafia.

Chuuya Nakahara focused all his attention on the obstacle in front of him and clicked his tongue:

"This is nothing, don't even think about stopping me!"

He was surrounded by a red aura symbolizing his supernatural abilities, his ochre hair flew wildly, and his movements became even more swift. The mechanical warrior blocking his path was knocked back, but the red aura did not spread to the mechanical warrior.

The mechanical samurai blocking his path was knocked back, but two more identical behemoths suddenly appeared and surrounded Chuuya Nakahara. These two mechanical samurai looked no different from the previous ones.

Chuuya Nakahara was annoyed by the constant appearance of mechanical warriors.

Whenever he applied gravity to those big guys, it would always fail for a moment, making it difficult for him to exert his full strength.

Being constantly drained makes it easy to fall into a disadvantageous position.

Many of the surrounding walls have collapsed, and the site is now in ruins.

The girl's skirt swayed gently as she stood high above, observing everything below.

The girl's fingers twitched slightly, and her gaze shifted to the void before her. Another mechanical warrior appeared, and the massive machine headed straight for the girl next to the subspace on the ground.

No one saw the things that lit up around her, things that shouldn't exist in this world.

Below, Dongshu unconsciously bit her lip, her dark eyes filled with urgency.

Now that both Gokotai and Dazai Osamu are injured, the appearance of the wounds makes her increasingly anxious and unable to calm down.

Concentrated spiritual energy gathered in her hands, which was attached to the subspace and flowed invisibly.

Cracks have appeared in the yellow subspace, though they are not noticeable from a distance. Invisible spiritual energy seeps in through the cracks, blocking the scythes that are coming at Dazai Osamu, who is trapped inside the subspace.

Enveloped in shimmering white spiritual energy, the wound that had been oozing blood slowly healed.

Some of the spiritual energy was deflected and vanished by the subspace. The blue hair tie was scraped by the aftershocks of the spiritual energy and broke. Her dark hair was disheveled, and the slightly curled ends hooked onto Dongshu's cheek. She shook her head and flung her hair away.

Her spiritual energy spread everywhere, her gaze focused intently on the yellow barrier beneath her hands, yet she still took in the surrounding situation.

Dazai Osamu skillfully maneuvered around the controlled former leader, his left eye, which was not wrapped in bandages, filled with contemplation. He had already discovered that the current subspace could not be eliminated by his special ability.

He could sense it.

An unfamiliar force supported his body, occasionally deflecting the scythes that attacked him, while some of it seeped into his body, slowly relieving his fatigue.

The stinging pain gradually subsided.

It's not a superpower... what is it?

“This is really…” Dazai Osamu dodged the blade again, the air currents ruffling his hair by his ears. “This is quite a sorry sight.”

He stopped, his right hand, bound by bandages, suddenly rose and collided with the sickle. The bandages snapped instantly, falling to the ground in pieces, while the iron plate hidden by the bandages served its intended purpose.

"Even if you want to embrace death, being killed by a scythe is very painful," he muttered softly.

The enormous scythe above his head was reflected in his iris-colored eyes. Even when facing the former leader who had been captured, the seemingly frail boy steadily withstood the attack.

Spiritual energy swirled around him, radiating an invisible light.

Healing, restoring strength, strengthening the body, protecting...

That's an amazing ability.

Fuyuki, who had been watching Dazai Osamu closely, noticed his actions. Her heart raced, and she was startled by his protective gesture.

Fuyuki noticed the mechanical warrior attacking her from the air and quickly erected a spiritual energy shield around herself. Then, a loud bang was heard in the air, the result of the mechanical warrior's weapon colliding with the spiritual energy shield.

Gokotai noticed the situation, quickly broke free from the entangled mechanical warriors, and with his mobility, arrived before the Saniwa could be attacked a second time, repelling the attackers.

Unexpectedly, one battle followed another, and the Five Tigers inevitably suffered some injuries, their clothes were tattered, and they had some wounds on their bodies.

He gripped the short sword tightly in his hand. The tiger cubs were covered in dust, but their eyes remained fierce.

However, he is not good at group battles now, and he can only become more and more powerless among the increasing number of mechanical warriors.

In the spiritual sense of Fuyuki, a familiar figure rushed over quickly. The mechanical warriors surrounding him were suddenly cleaved in two at the waist. The white tsukumogami had blood-red eyes filled with ferocity.

He roared, "Get lost!"

As he spoke, he raised his hand and beheaded the newly appeared giants one by one. The giants disappeared after falling, only to reappear a second later.

It seemed endless.

"Tsurumaru!" Fuyuki called out when she saw him. Even though she had sensed him before she saw him, her face was still filled with surprise and anticipation: "You're here!"

The vibration of her vocal cords produced a soft, sweet voice unique to children, unconsciously imbued with her trusting emotions.

The fierce expression on Tsurumaru Kuninaga's face vanished the moment he turned around, replaced by his usual smile. His blood-red eyes stared at the young Saniwa huddled inside the spiritual energy shield.

"Leave the rest to me..."

The sounds behind him dissipated into the air. Tsurumaru Kuninaga twirled the katana in his hand, and wisps of black energy swirled and coiled around the gleaming silver blade.

Fuyuki healed Gokotai, who was already in a state of moderate injury, and all the wounds on Kotaro's body disappeared, while his torn clothes were also restored to their original neatness.

Under the influence of the contract, the effectiveness of spiritual power is greatly enhanced.

Bone spurs sprouted from Tsurumaru Kuninaga's arm where the Saniwa couldn't see them. Red and black were the inevitable colors, his white hair flew about, and the crimson color seemed to suit him perfectly.

The black aura on his blade seeped into the mechanical warrior as it cleaved through him, corroding and destroying it.

"That feeling is so familiar..."

"...like him."

His movements became increasingly fierce as he attacked all the mechanical warriors without exception.

Tsurumaru Kuninaga suppressed the strange changes within himself, not wanting others to see his most wretched state.

Filthy and dirty.

With the mechanical warriors no longer surrounding him, Chuuya Nakahara had a moment to spare. He glanced at the people who had suddenly appeared, made a preliminary assessment that they were allies, and then turned his attention back to the girl in the air.

The mechanical warriors blocking his way were eliminated one by one. He used his supernatural abilities to rush into the air and launched a fierce attack on his target in the subspace.

It is a barrier; materialized silk threads form a pure white cocoon. The seemingly fragile threads block the attacks of the gravity-manipulating superhumans. No matter what kind of attack it is, it is deflected the moment it touches the cocoon.

He was slightly startled, his expression turning surprised and somewhat irritated: "What is this thing now!"

Chuuya Nakahara was thrown back and landed on the ground, stopping steadily. He put his hands in his pockets and stared at the cocoon on his head that was gradually spreading out.

"Prepare to withstand the backlash of gravity!"

As the cocoon completely dissipated and disappeared, he launched another rapid attack, but was still blocked by the deflection force.

Chuuya Nakahara's slightly curly ochre hair drooped, and his ocean-blue eyes seemed to be spitting fire.

"Ugh, so annoying."

The invisible threads were severed by the black mist that was binding them, and the mechanical warrior, unable to move, fell to the ground. He then turned into green specks of light, which quickly gathered on the girl in the air.

Looking at the green light flying towards her, the girl was somewhat incredulous, but she remained silent, her gaze fixed on the void before her.

Tsurumaru Kuninaga saw it, but only for a moment.

A transparent, faintly glowing screen was connected to countless threads, densely packed and inseparable, surrounding the girl along with green light dots, tightly enveloping her.

Especially those hands, all ten fingers, each one wrapped with countless silk threads.

It is both protection and restriction.

With a slight movement of the fingers, the silk thread undulates.

A transparent screen, visible only to one person, lights up, the text on the screen flickers, and then becomes blurry as if it has lost signal.

"Rubbish."

The mechanical voice, audible only to the girl, rang out. Her eyes narrowed with tension. No, please, please don't let anything go wrong at a time like this!

After a few seconds, the screen returned to normal, displaying bold black text.

[Special Abilities, Meticulously Intricate]

The light spots and threads quickly combined, and the mechanical warrior reappeared, now taller, its armor harder and gleaming, its aura even more dangerous.

The aggregate, whose connecting threads were roughly equal to the sum of the threads connected to the previously appearing mechanical warriors, was just about to take a stance when it was instantly destroyed again, and the green light spot reappeared.

Tsurumaru Kuninaga stared coldly at the girl above, her white hair reflecting a chilling light, and he tightened his grip on the katana.

At the same time, Fuyuki unleashed his maximum spiritual power, which was constantly being broken by the weakened subspace, and his scythe fell to the ground.

Fuyuki finally breathed a sigh of relief; her hands trembled slightly, and her pupils widened.

For the past ten minutes or so, her heart had been pounding.

Fuyuki ran, leaped, and stopped, his loose hair flying wildly and becoming disheveled. A tremendous amount of spiritual energy poured into Dazai Osamu's body from the point of contact between the two.

"Ugh..." Dazai Osamu groaned, unable to break free from the child in front of him who was even younger than him.

The remaining slight fatigue in my body was completely cleared away, all the small wounds on my body disappeared, and my body felt light, as if I had just had a good, dreamless sleep.

Before Dazai Osamu could think it through, he was suddenly grabbed by the collar, his waist forced to bend, and his iris-colored eyes met a pair of smaller black eyes.

Their eyes met.

The burning emotion in those eyes—was it anger, resentment, or reproach...?

No, it was a breathtaking, unadulterated, pure tension.

He was stunned.

Some people are afraid of his methods, some hope that he will bring them benefits, and some are troubled by his terrible personality.

He always seemed to be an overly intelligent monster, even unlike a normal person.

But in Fuyuki's eyes at this moment, this boy, who was only a few years older than her, was merely a child who had lost the world's favor.

Dongshu pursed her lips, hesitated for a long time, and only uttered five words: "You must take good care of yourself..."

Take care, the world always loves you.
