Ace's fame
"Oh, sorry! Sorry!"
Ace and Merry, who were fighting fiercely in mid-air, finally came to their senses and quickly stopped.
The water dragon turned into a torrential downpour, extinguishing the fire on the deck.
Deuce's neck turned red with rage. He pointed at the burnt masts and damaged structures on the deck and yelled, "Ace! Merry! Are you trying to tear our house apart? Huh? We haven't been damaged by the enemy, but you're trying to inflict some damage on our own people first?"
Meili lowered his head in guilt, like a child caught doing something wrong, and apologized guiltily: "I'm sorry!"
Ace scratched the back of his head and laughed dryly: "Ah, well, we just wanted to demonstrate..."
"Show off!!!" Deus kicked over the bucket next to him in anger, his voice rising in volume. "Is that what you call a show off? I don't care if you're a Fire Fist or a Water God, you absolutely cannot fight on your own boat again!!!"
Ace raised his hand and interjected, "We really didn't fight. I..."
"Shut up! You can't even gesture! The cost of repairing the boat will be deducted from your share..." Deuce put his hands on his hips and lectured his two friends, who had personality traits similar to children, for over an hour. "...There absolutely can't be a next time!"
"Yes, yes, yes."
"I'll do as you say."
......
The Spade Pirates gradually gained a lot of fame in the Grand Line.
Ace also killed Hanafza, the "Lizard King" among the Seven Warlords of the Sea, causing him to be removed from the list.
The World Government invited Ace to become one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, but Ace refused.
Subsequently, Ace's latest bounty soared to 230 million, and the name of Fire Fist Ace spread throughout the Grand Line.
Merry also shined in these adventures, and the bounty increased from 160 million to 200 million.
The Spade Pirates continued to advance and entered the second half of the Grand Line - the New World.
Ace stood at the front of the bow, holding his cowboy hat with one hand and the other hand casually tucked into his shorts pocket. His unbuttoned shirt was lifted by the wind, revealing his eight well-defined abdominal muscles.
The sea breeze suddenly strengthened, lifting the brim of his hat, revealing the boy's sharp eyes. The waves on the sea were all reflected in the boy's eyes, like two burning flames exploding.
"We've seen the island—" a loud shout came from the lookout tower.
"Everyone, prepare to land!"
The dark green islands stand above the sea, and the sunlight shines down, giving the winding ridges a golden edge.
Before the ship had completely docked, Ace couldn't wait to flip over and jump over the side of the ship, landing on the beach like a red flaming meteor.
"Ace, wait for me." Meli immediately turned over and jumped off the deck, his crawling speed not slow at all.
Deuce, Skarr, Bonsi and others followed closely behind.
"Can you two wait for your partner?"
"Hahahaha," Ace turned around and smiled brightly, the freckles on both sides of his cheeks scattered like broken stars, "Deuce, you guys are too slow!"
The young man continued to rush towards the island, his footsteps never stopping, bold and unrestrained, causing a sound of flapping wings and soaring into the air.
The island was even greener than it looked from a distance, with treetops crisscrossing overhead and vines and bushes everywhere.
Ace picked a bright red wild fruit, wiped it on his pants, and put it in his mouth: "This tastes good."
Deuce was somewhat helpless: "Don't eat anything carelessly. What if it's poisonous?"
"We'll tell you if it's poisonous." Ace smiled nonchalantly and continued forward. "Merry, do you want to eat it?"
Seeing that Ace finished eating without any problems, Merry nodded and said, "Eat."
The sunlight passed through the gaps in the treetops, was cut into pieces of gold by the branches and leaves, and sprinkled mottledly on the shoulders of Meli and his group.
Vines cascaded down from great heights like waterfalls, and the bushes were dotted with wild fruits of all sizes.
"There's a cave ahead!" Ace shouted excitedly and quickened his pace.
Meli looked in the direction of the sound and saw a crack in the rock wall ahead, only wide enough for one person to pass through.
Vines hung outside the crack, and a few birds tilted their heads to look at them. When Ace approached, they fluttered their wings and flew away.
"I'll lead the way." Ace excitedly took the lead and went into the narrow cave.
Meli followed him in. The cave was extremely dark. Ace lit a finger of fire, illuminating the cave wall.
The entrance to the cave is not big, but there is a different world inside. The further you go in, the higher and more spacious the space becomes.
Rows of stalactites of various shapes and shapes are hanging upside down on the ceiling of the cave. When the flames flicker, the inverted stalactites reflect a lustrous luster.
Merry looked up, his blue eyes filled with broken stars: "So handsome! Absolutely beautiful!"
Bonsi looked up and exclaimed, "What is this? A stone?"
Ace grinned, "I don't know, but it's super awesome anyway!"
Deuce said with regret, "If Michael had come along, he would definitely know what this is."
"Mr. Michal, you really do know a lot."
"It's a pity that Mr. Michal doesn't like to go out. He always chooses to stay and watch the ship."
As everyone chatted and laughed, they walked deeper and deeper into the cave, and the scenery at the top became more and more spectacular.
The cave ahead gradually narrowed, water droplets dripped from the top of the cave from time to time, and the air became much damper and colder.
There are many white cocoons hanging between the stalactites on the top of the cave. They are about the size of a fist and are suspended in the air by almost transparent silk threads. They are high and low, densely packed, and make people feel cold.
"Huh? What is this?"
"Is this also some kind of stone?"
"These guys feel a bit disgusting."
Ace looked up and moved closer curiously. In the light of the fire, he could vaguely see something wriggling in the white cocoons, making a rustling sound.
"It doesn't feel good."
Before he finished speaking, the white cocoon closest to the fire suddenly exploded.
“Pah! Pah pah pah—”
Explosions sounded one after another, and countless small spiders poured out from the exploded white cocoons.
"Run!" Meli reacted quickly and turned around and ran.
Only one or two small spiders landed on her, but she quickly flicked them away.
Deus and the others reacted immediately, stepped back, and swung their daggers to knock the falling little spider away.
Ace was the closest, but he was half a step slower, and the rain of spiders hit him right on the head.
"Wow!" The little spider instantly drenched Ace's head and shoulders, and his furry claws rolled madly along the ends of his hair and earlobes and onto his body.
In the blink of an eye, Ace was overwhelmed by a dense swarm of small spiders.
The scene was simply terrifying.
"Wait——" Ace, who was fearless, couldn't help but feel his hair stand on end and started jumping around wildly, and his orange cowboy hat was blown off.
"Boom--" The flames on the fingers suddenly exploded, and a flaming dragon exploded around Ace's body.
With a crackling sound, the spider on Ace's body was roasted into charcoal and fell off.
But the white cocoon on top of his head continued to crack, pouring out more and more countless little spiders, as if endless.
"Tsk, it never ends." Ace shook off the charred insects on his body, and flames burst out of his body again.
Meli, Deuce and the others were soon caught up by the little spiders. She stood in front of Deuce and the others and stopped running. She pressed her palms against the wet rock wall, and the moisture in the air gathered to form a water curtain.
The water curtain gathered and turned into a water snake, sliding over Deuce and the others, sweeping away all the spiders on their bodies.
The flames on Ace's body turned into a fire net, sweeping across the white cocoon on the top of the cave. The little spider was blown away by the heat wave, and the smell of burning filled the entire cave.
"The New World is really dangerous!" The firelight illuminated the boy's sharp profile. His orange cowboy hat had long been hung backwards on the back of his neck, and a confident smile that was almost arrogant was dancing in his pupils.
The fire net closed in and the little spiders were burned to ashes.
The charred corpses and remaining living spiders on the ground were rolled up by Merry's water snake and rushed into the depths of the cave.
The air in the cave became much hotter.
Bonsi wiped the sweat from his forehead in fear and said, "If it weren't for Merry, the captain would have burned us and the spider together."
"I wouldn't accidentally hurt my companions." Ace raised an eyebrow at Merry, and the flames shrank into gentle flames at his fingertips. "You work together very well."
Merry raised his hand into a fist and bumped it with Ace: "Yes, yes, you are indeed the Fire Fist Ace with a 200 million bounty."
"Hahahaha," Ace laughed loudly, and the flames on his fingertips began to shake.
Merry suddenly tilted his head, looking into the depths of the dark cave, his face solemn: "Did you hear any sound?"
"What's that sound?" Ace stopped laughing and shifted his gaze.
Everyone quieted down, and the subtle sounds deep in the cave became clearer.
Deuce lowered his voice: "It seems like there really is a sound."
"Whoa! Don't scare me!"
"Boom-boom-boom" The sound is like a huge drum or a heartbeat, resonating with the ground one by one.
The water droplets on the cave wall were shaken off and fell into the rock flow, which was so cold that he screamed and jumped up.
"What's wrong? What's wrong?"
"There seems to be a little spider, it just fell on me."
"Let me see, there's nothing."
"Shh, everyone, don't make any noise. That sound seems to be getting closer."
Deuce and the others looked at each other and nodded with difficulty, their heartbeats accelerating wildly as the sound got closer and closer.
“Bang—”
A black root poked out from the end of the cave.
"Dong——" another one came out.
No, that's not right, that's not a stick!
That's a giant spider leg!
Each one was as thick as an adult man's thigh, covered with a layer of fine gray-black hair, and shone with oil in the firelight.
"Stand back!" Ace shouted, and the flame in his hand rose up, reflecting the true face of the person who came.
The female spider was huge, almost reaching the dome of the cave. Her body was dark, and her head was relatively small, but it had eight red compound eyes. Her appearance was ferocious and terrifying.
"What the hell!" Deuce exclaimed.
"This must be a female spider! It's so huge!"
"Size doesn't matter, we're going to burn it anyway." Ace smiled wantonly, bent his knees and rushed towards the female spider.
The mother spider's abdomen suddenly contracted, and the next second, "Swish - swish -"
Strands of translucent spider silk sprayed towards the crowd.
"Scatter!" Meli's eyes flashed, and he and Deuce and the others quickly retreated. The water waves rose from their feet and turned into a water curtain, blocking the spider silk.
Ace took advantage of the opportunity to rush forward, came to the belly of the mother spider, and slammed his fire fist into the dark belly.
“Boom!!!”
The flaming fist enveloped the mother spider, flames exploded, a shrill scream sounded, and the eight giant legs dug the ground frantically, stirring up gravel and rain of fire.
When the flames died down, all the spider silk was burnt and turned into ashes that drifted away.
There wasn't a single scratch on the female spider's abdomen, and her scarlet compound eyes stared angrily at the figure at her feet.
