Lem Jones turned into a pig?
"quack!"
At the critical moment, Monster suddenly jumped out of Shanks' arms and rushed towards Beckman like a cannonball.
Beckman was caught off guard by Monsta's attack. He subconsciously loosened his hand that was pinching Meli, turned around and punched Monsta, knocking him to the ground.
Merry came out of his near-death crisis, collapsed to the ground, and began to cough violently.
Seeing Monster being knocked away, Shanks woke up from his dazed state and shouted, "Protect the patient!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he made a quick move, flashed forward, and stopped Beckman.
The two men immediately engaged in a fight, their movements were so fast that it was dizzying, and the destructive power was even more shocking than the previous fight.
"Beckman, Shanks, stop fighting! We're all on the same side!"
Merry recovered her breath, ignoring the pain in her throat. Her voice was hoarse as she continued to explain loudly, "Beckman, I really am Merry the Octopus! I don't know why I woke up in this strange place and became like this, but you have to believe me, I really am Merry."
Beckman paused slightly and was immediately hit by Shanks' punch. He immediately punched back.
"Stop fighting! Stop fighting!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
While fighting Shanks, Beckman questioned, "How do you prove that you are Merry?"
When he heard this question, Meli was stuck for a moment. How can I prove that I am myself?
It’s no wonder Beckman was so alert. He felt something was wrong before he lost consciousness.
After waking up, Beckman found himself in a strange forest and his friends were gone.
Along the way, Beckman fought off many strange creatures and finally saw Punch. Unexpectedly, Punch acted as if he didn't recognize him at all and started fighting with him.
Shanks attacked him without saying a word, and it was really strange that a strange boy who had never been seen before kept saying that he was Merry.
"I..." Meli's brain was working rapidly. She suddenly remembered something and said hurriedly, "Do you remember that time before, you were taking a nap in the sun on the deck, and when you woke up, your whole body was wet? Actually, I was practicing shooting water arrows... I accidentally sprayed you, but I ran away at the time..."
Meli's voice became smaller and smaller, like a child who was caught doing something bad, with a little shyness and embarrassment.
When sailing on the sea, you would occasionally encounter some localized rain. This kind of sudden getting wet happened frequently. Beckman did not take it seriously. He did not expect that Meli’s matter was involved.
Meli seemed to recall something, and her voice suddenly rose. "Also, when we first met, you treated me like a snack. I was scared, too. So we're even now."
What a little brat who won't take any loss. Beckman couldn't help but smile. He didn't expect that the joke he made more than three years ago was still recorded in Meli's little notebook.
"It seems you really are Merry." Beckman's smile faded, his eyes becoming serious. He remembered that he had just strangled Merry to death, and a wave of fear filled him. "I'm sorry, Merry, I hit you just now."
Seeing that Beckman finally believed her identity, Meili couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief: "It's okay, I'm fine. So don't fight anymore."
Beckman nodded and stopped attacking.
However, Shanks showed no intention of stopping.
The fierce attack came like a machine, as if it would not stop until Beckman was killed.
"Shanks, wake up!"
Beckman flashed and moved behind Shanks, elbowing him hard on the back of the neck. He used all his strength in this attack, thinking that he could knock Shanks unconscious so that he could have a good talk with Merry and find out what had happened.
Unexpectedly, Shanks was not hurt at all. He just shook for a moment, then immediately turned around without changing his expression and continued to attack Beckman.
There was a flash of shock in Beckman's eyes. He and Shanks were usually evenly matched in battle, so he had used all his strength just now. Even if he couldn't knock Shanks unconscious, he would never act so calmly.
"What's going on!" Beckman asked Merry while dealing with Shanks, "Why does Shanks look like he's possessed?"
Merry ruffled her hair anxiously. Suddenly, an idea flashed through her mind. She supported Monsta and shouted to Shanks, "The patient is not feeling well and must lie in bed to rest. Someone please help pull a bed over!"
"Merry, what are you talking about? Where are the beds?"
"A hospital bed? I am the hospital bed."
Shanks suddenly stopped attacking as if he had heard some instructions. Even though he was hit hard by Beckman, he didn't care. He just walked straight over, hugged Monsta, and lay on the ground without hesitation as if he was really a hospital bed.
Beckman looked at this strange scene, speechless: "Merry, what is going on? Why has Shanks become so strange?"
"Well, I..." Meli told Beckman in detail what she encountered and saw after she woke up.
Beckman frowned unconsciously as he listened. He habitually took out a cigarette from his pocket and put it in his mouth, but did not light it.
His mind kept interweaving and replaying Merry's experience and his experience after waking up.
All the strange phenomena and unreasonable details soon made Beckman realize that everything here might not be understood by conventional theories.
Those seemingly absurd details actually hide clues to the truth.
Beckman's eyes flashed with sudden realization. He clapped his hands and his eyes lit up: "I understand!"
Meili asked curiously, "Beckman, do you know where this place is?"
"That's right. Don't worry, I'll do an experiment." After saying that, Beckman closed his eyes.
Meli looked at the quiet Beckman and didn't see what he did at all, but after a while, the surrounding scene suddenly distorted.
The sky was full of cracks like a broken mirror, and the ground in the distance also cracked into many holes, revealing a bottomless abyss. The whole world was torn apart by some invisible force and continued to collapse.
So, so scary!
Merry was a little panicked when he saw the doomsday scene before him. "Beckman, how did this place suddenly become like this? What should we do?"
"It seems this place is just as I imagined." Beckman opened his eyes and smiled confidently. He explained briefly, "Don't worry. In fact, this is not the real world at all. This is probably a dream, or an illusion. Everything is imagined."
"Dream?" Meli was stunned.
"Yes, what happened here is absurd, but not illogical."
It is impossible to support an illusion world without logic. As long as you understand the logical framework and think in reverse based on this logic, the whole world can easily be disrupted and collapse.
The surrounding scene was indeed becoming more and more weird and chaotic.
Suddenly, many strange-shaped animal balloons rose from the cracks. They rose into the air and circled continuously, and mixed with cheerful and childish singing could be heard in every corner.
"Ding dang dang~~~ banana~~~ the mouse said, meow meow meow~~~ clatter~~~"
"This voice..." A hint of surprise appeared on Meli's face, "It's Uta!"
Uta's singing echoed in the air, and Meli soon found Uta's figure among the strange-looking animal balloons. Her head was connected to the body of a butterfly.
Merry also saw Lem Jones's head on a flying pig and Gab's head on a mouse...
It turned out that those missing companions had turned into strange creatures with human heads and animal bodies. Many strange creatures also poured out from the cracks, flying and twisting in the air.
Beckman looked at everything in front of him and smiled confidently: "It seems that my guess was correct."
"Huh?" Merry looked at Beckman, bewildered. She opened her mouth to ask something, but before she could, the space around her collapsed faster and faster.
Merry felt a strong dizziness coming over him and everything in sight became blurry.
When the dizziness subsided, Meli slowly woke up from his trance, and the sky in front of him was gray-blue and slightly bright.
The sun has not yet risen, and the sea breeze is blowing gently, salty and damp.
Merry turned his head and found himself lying on the familiar deck, surrounded by his safe companions.
Eh? Are you okay?
The strange experience before flashed through its mind in an instant. It suddenly turned over and sat up, subconsciously touching its body, and its eight soft and cute tentacles danced.
It turned back into an octopus.
So, was everything that just happened actually a dream?
But it feels so real!
Everyone on the deck also woke up one by one.
Shanks stretched, sat up, and said excitedly: "Friends, I did something very interesting last night..."
"...Interesting dream." Jesus Bu also spoke at the same time, saying the same thing as Shanks.
The two looked at each other with excitement and surprise in their eyes.
Shanks: "Huh? Did you dream too?"
Jesus said: "Yes, I dreamed that my fellow townsman wanted to give me an injection..."
Shanks: "I dreamed that I turned into a hospital bed..."
The deck became very lively, and everyone who woke up happily shared their wonderful dreams.
Those bizarre dreams did not scare them, but rather made them feel very amused.
Hongo rubbed his forehead in pain. "I dreamed that I was treating patients all night long, and they didn't cooperate at all..."
Lachi Lu licked his lips and said, "I dreamed of a mountain of food. There were so many delicious foods..."
Uta's eyes sparkled: "I dreamed that I turned into a very beautiful butterfly and met many lovely animals. We sang and danced together..."
Meli: Uta, you seem to have some misunderstanding about cute animals!
Only Lime Jones covered his eyes in pain. He did not want to share his experience of turning into a pig.
Beckman tapped his glass and sternly interrupted his companions' discussion: "That wasn't an ordinary dream. I don't know who did something to deliberately drag us into the same dream world."
What?
The once bustling deck fell silent, and everyone's eyes turned to Beckman.
