Meet Nami again
The golden sunlight sprinkled on the sea, and the tide rose quietly.
Nami and Nojigo continued to shuttle between the reefs. Their skirts had already been wet by the waves, but they didn't care.
"Shh." Nojigo suddenly stopped, poked Nami beside him with his elbow, raised his hand to point at the big reef not far away, and blinked.
Nami looked in the direction she pointed, and saw a huge octopus swimming slowly forward under the shadow of the reef.
Wow! What a huge octopus!
The two little guys' eyes instantly widened and sparkled.
They looked at each other, walked lightly, and tacitly surrounded them from both sides.
Even though the two little ones tiptoed, they still couldn't hide the tiny streams of water caused by their walking.
The octopus received the alarm and suddenly swam faster, diving into the deeper water.
"Hurry, hurry, hurry." Nami shouted in a low voice, and she and Nojigo quickened their pace.
In a moment of carelessness, Nuoqigao slipped and fell into the water.
Crash——
The surrounding sea water also became much more turbid.
"Don't worry about me," Nojigo stared at the octopus anxiously, "Go catch it!"
Nami looked back at Nojigo and immediately chased after him.
The octopus had already dived behind a large reef. Nami chased after it, but when she saw the scene behind the reef, her eyes widened and she stood there in a daze.
A little girl was sitting in the puddle behind the reef.
Her upper body resembled a human child, with a pair of captivating horizontal aquamarine eyes, like glass carefully polished by the ocean, clear and dreamy. Her eyelashes were stained with crystal water droplets, and every time she blinked, it seemed as if broken stars were falling.
Below the human waist are eight soft pink tentacles, which seem to be glowing under the sunlight, reflecting neon-like colorful arcs.
Nami opened her lips slightly but forgot to make any sound. It was the first time she saw a mermaid and her eyes were full of disbelief.
"()Hi~" Meli raised her hand and greeted in a friendly manner, with a cute and shy smile on her face, and her voice was as crisp as the waves hitting the rocks.
Nami suddenly came to her senses and reflexively raised the clamp in her hand, her eyes full of vigilance.
"Don't be afraid!" Merry hurriedly raised his hands in a harmless surrender. "I'm not a bad person. Really."
"You can talk?" Nami still held the tongs high, her face wary. "What the hell are you...?"
"I am an octopus mermaid..." Before Merry could finish her words, Nojigo's voice came from behind the reef.
Nojigo rubbed his knee and limped after him: "Nami, what are you talking about? Caught the octopus..."
She leaned over the reef and stuck her head out. The moment she saw Meli, her voice stopped abruptly and her pupils suddenly dilated.
"Amazing! That octopus actually turned into a human!"
"Hi, hello." Merry greeted Nojigo with a smile.
Her tentacles reached under the reef, reeled in an octopus, and dragged it out. "This should be the octopus you are looking for."
A panicked and struggling octopus appeared in front of Nami, scaring her so much that she took a half step back.
Merry's other tentacles suddenly raised up, each tentacle rolled up a different lobster, snow crab, turbot, etc., and handed them to Nami and Nojiko.
"And these, do you want any?"
Wow! Amazing! So many seafood!
Nami and Nojigo were both stunned, their eyes wide open, wanting to touch but not daring to.
"Whatever fish you want, I can catch it for you."
"Really? You can have anything you want?"
"Of course, I'm a s---er at catching fish."
Get rich!
Nami and Nojiko instantly threw their fear away. They excitedly grabbed the seafood from the tentacles and threw them into net bags and buckets.
"I heard there's a kind of tuna that's really delicious. Can you catch it?"
"Tuna? No big deal. And you, what kind of fish do you want?"
"I want king crab! The biggest one!"
"Okay. I'll go look for it." Meli nodded in agreement, but he was a little nervous. He wondered if there were the largest king crabs in this sea area.
"Great!" Nami and Nojiko cheered at the same time.
"I'll go find it now, you wait for me." Meli waved his hand and disappeared into the sea.
Nami and Nojigo's excitement faded a little, and they began to feel a little nervous.
"Is what she said true?"
"Whether it's true or not, we've made a profit." Nojigo shook the bucket in his hand and smiled.
"With these, we can have a big dinner tonight."
“Hahaha that’s awesome!”
Nami and Nojigo continued to search for rocks excitedly.
The sun gradually sets.
Bellemeier came over with a half-full bucket of seafood. "How's your catch?"
"Hehe~~"
The two little guys pointed at their buckets, and the smiles on their faces were brighter than the sunset.
"Oh, you guys have a good harvest today."
"Yeah, we're super lucky today!"
"Now that we've gained so much, let's go home."
"Huh?" Nami and Nojiko's smiles paused, but the mermaid still hadn't returned.
"Bell-mère, we're pretty lucky today. We'd like to pick up some more seafood." Nami suddenly had an idea and came up with an excuse. "Ken-san usually takes good care of us. Let's pick up some more seafood and invite him over for dinner."
"That's right, it's too pitiful for Jiansang to be alone at home." Nojigo nodded in agreement.
Bellemeier wasn't so easy to fool. She narrowed her eyes and asked, "You two little brats, are you hiding anything from me?"
"What could possibly happen to us? This kind of good luck doesn't come around often."
"Yes, yes, it's not dark yet, let's stay a little longer."
Bell-mère stared at Nami and Nokiko seriously for dozens of seconds, which made them feel uneasy, and then they finally nodded in agreement.
"Okay, then we'll stay for half an hour."
"Yeah! Belle Mare is the best!"
"Don't give me that. You can only stay for another half an hour. You have to go back at that time."
"I know—"
Half an hour passed very quickly.
Bellmère: "It's time to go."
Nami and Nojigo looked at each other in distress and exchanged glances.
What should I do? The octopus man hasn't come back yet.
I don't know! If I delay any longer, Bellemere will be angry!
Just as the two little guys were worrying about how to find an excuse, ripples appeared on the sea not far away.
Crash——
A large mass of strange things emerged from the sea.
Bell-mère noticed the strange shadow appearing on the sea, and immediately dropped what he was holding and ran towards Nami and Nojigo.
"Quick! Get ashore!"
Nami and Nojigo turned and ran towards the shore.
The strange shadow was getting closer and closer. Nami couldn't help but look back and found that the strange figure looked familiar.
The little octopus mermaid crawled over, holding a tuna bigger than herself in her left hand, and a green thing twice as big as her in her right hand. Her whole body looked particularly funny.
"Wait, that's not something weird." Nami stopped in surprise.
"Nami!" Bell-mère and Nojigo also stopped.
Merry came to Nami, showing off the spoils in her hand like a treasure, with a smile on her face: "I'm sorry, I came back late, and it took me a little longer to find the king crab."
The large green mass turned out to be seaweed, with a huge crab tied inside.
"Wow!" Nami was stunned. She had never seen a crab taller than her. "You are so amazing!"
"That's amazing!" Nojigo also turned back, his eyes full of disbelief.
"Hehe, it took me a long time to find it." Meli smiled shyly.
After seeing all this, Bellmère couldn't understand anything.
"Nami-Nojigo-"
Bell-mère couldn't help but give Nami and Nokiko a slap. "This is what you've been hiding from me! You actually let the mermaid help you catch fish!"
Nami and Nojiko covered their heads and apologized in unison: "Oh, I was wrong, I was wrong."
Meili quickly stepped forward to plead: "Please don't blame them, I volunteered to help."
"I know you." Bell-mère crossed his arms, his serious gaze fixed on Merry, and he said with certainty, "When those pirates came over before, you were there too, right?"
"Yes. But I'm really not a bad person." Merry's eyes were clear as he tried to explain, "Also, Shanks and the others aren't bad people either."
Bellmair's scrutinizing gaze remained sharp and did not move away for a long time: "Why are you helping us catch fish?"
Merry did not avoid her gaze, but raised his head and showed an unreserved smile, bright and innocent.
"Because I want to make friends with you. I mean no harm."
