Shanks smiled.
The leading soldier swallowed hard and said in horror, "What...what do you want?"
"What are you afraid of? You were the ones who started it." Shanks tilted his head in confusion, but the sword didn't move at all. "I just wanted to discuss with you whether you could sell us some vegetables, fruits, and medicine."
The leading soldier was speechless and choked: "With a sword against my neck, tell me, should I be afraid?!"
After hearing Shanks' request, the leading soldier breathed a sigh of relief. His expression became much calmer. "No problem. Let me go first."
"Okay." Shanks smiled brightly, took two steps back, and put the sword back into the scabbard.
Just as the sword was sheathed, a ruthless look flashed in the leading soldier's eyes. He suddenly raised his hand and pointed the gun at Shanks.
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out.
The distance between the two sides was too close, and the bullets whizzed towards Shanks, and he had no time to dodge.
The leading soldier couldn't help but curl his lips: Threatening me? Go to hell!
"Bang!" Another loud noise.
The bullet hit Shanks and it was like hitting an invisible wall. It then bounced back and flew towards the leading soldier.
It all happened very quickly.
"Ah!" The leading soldier screamed and staggered to the ground. His arm was hit by a bullet and blood continued to flow from the wound.
At this time, there were only three or five soldiers still standing on the field. The rest had all been knocked to the ground by Beckman and Gob.
Shanks frowned, his smile vanished, his eyes were cold, and his tone was filled with deep disappointment: "It seems that you don't really agree to the deal."
The leading soldier covered the wound on his arm, pleading in his eyes and trembling in his voice, said: "I'm sorry! I was wrong. Please don't kill me. I can give you anything you want."
"I don't need you to give me anything. Besides, you are no longer qualified to talk to me." Shanks shook his head. He turned to look at the remaining soldiers with a cold gaze. "Do you want to continue fighting?"
Beckman, Gob, and Lachi Lu stared at the remaining soldiers with cold expressions, full of murderous intent.
The remaining soldiers looked at each other with fear in their eyes. After hesitating for a moment, they decided to give up resistance, dropped their weapons and raised their hands.
"Have mercy! We are only following orders."
One of the soldiers, Jia Siding, bravely said, "I can take you to find our leader."
"Well, that's more like it." Shanks grinned and returned to his gentle and friendly demeanor.
He walked up to Jiastin and patted him on the shoulder in a familiar manner. "Let's go. Lead the way."
Jiastin walked ahead nervously, his steps a little stiff. After taking a few steps, he couldn't help but glance back at Shanks and others, just in time to see Beckman and the other two punching each of the remaining soldiers.
His eyes couldn't help but show a bit of fear and a bit of relief: Fortunately he spoke up in advance, otherwise his fate would be the same as those players lying on the ground.
Beckman glanced at Jiastin coldly and said meaningfully, "This way, no one will dare to do anything behind your back."
The soldiers who were knocked unconscious lay on the ground and lost their ability to move, so there was no need to worry that they would go back on their word and fire a hidden shot like the leading soldier did.
Jiastin felt uneasy when he was stared at, and quickly turned away, not daring to look any longer.
Lachi Lu laughed and said, "That's right, this way you can expose your back without worry."
"Let's go and meet their leader to see if we can communicate smoothly."
"Alas, we just want to buy something, but the people here are too xenophobic."
"Yeah, they have to beat us up before they're willing to talk properly. It makes us look like the most heinous criminals."
......
Shanks and his group followed behind Jiastin and continued to head towards the mining base.
A building complex surrounded by high walls gradually appeared before our eyes.
Most of the soldiers were sent out, and now only Daniel and a dozen guard soldiers are left in the mining base.
They were equipped with high-tech equipment and more advanced weapons, and stood at the entrance of the mine early waiting for the arrival of Shanks and his party.
The tall Daniel stood at the front. When he saw Shanks and others appear, a warm smile appeared on his face, and he opened his arms and greeted them.
"Welcome everyone to our mine! I'm Daniel, the base manager here. What are your names?"
He seemed to be a very easy-going person. Shanks smiled widely, walked up to him and shook hands with Daniel warmly.
"Hello Daniel, I'm Shanks, the captain of the Red Hair Pirates. These are my crew members." Shanks introduced the people around him one by one. "This is the deputy captain Beckman, this is the chef... Oh, right, the one above me is Merry."
Merry lay on Shanks' straw hat and waved his tentacles at Daniel: "Hi, hello, I'm Merry."
Daniel had already seen the strange-shaped hat on Shanks' head, but he didn't expect that the octopus on it was alive.
His expression froze for a moment, then adjusted instantly.
Daniel laughed heartily, looking very cheerful and enthusiastic. "So it's the Red Hair Pirates! I've heard so much about you! Now that I see you, you're truly heroic!"
Shanks seemed completely oblivious to the other party's insincerity and instead felt very happy: "Haha, I didn't expect our pirate group's fame to have spread here."
Daniel's face froze again. He obviously didn't expect that the other party would take his casual words seriously.
However, this is better, because it turns out they are just a few stupid pirates who can fight but have no brains.
Daniel quickly regained his enthusiastic smile and continued to brag, "Of course. The Red Hair Pirates are renowned, and heroes emerge from their youth. It's truly an honor to meet you all. Captain Shanks, thank you for all the hard work you've put in coming all the way here. I wonder what you'd like to do on our Flutter Island?"
"No, no, we've been sailing at sea for a while and are running low on some supplies." Shanks waved his hand and pulled out a list from his pocket. "I'd like to buy some daily necessities, fresh fruits and vegetables, and medicine from you. I wonder if you have any?"
"What a coincidence! I happen to have some supplies here." Daniel took the list and glanced at it. He turned and pointed deep into the mine, a subtle sinister glint in his eyes. "Please follow me. I'll take you to our warehouse. You can choose whatever you want."
Shanks showed a grateful look and thanked him sincerely: "Thank you very much, Daniel."
Daniel said affectionately, "What are you talking about? Captain Shanks and I hit it off right away. This is just a small matter."
Shanks followed Daniel carelessly, heading deeper into the mining base.
Beckman glanced at the innocent captain, and a hint of helplessness flashed in his eyes.
The captain and the second-in-command both left, and Gob and Lachi Lu had no objections and followed them silently.
Following closely behind them were the guard soldiers. They looked very serious and seemed ready to engage in a firefight at any time.
Meili looked around and exclaimed, "Wow, this mine is so huge, it's spectacular."
Daniel smiled modestly. “Well, after all, this is the only mining base on Qingpiaopiao Island. Everyone relies on it for their livelihood.”
Shanks asked curiously, "What kind of minerals do you have here? What are the uses of mining them?"
"Oh, I don't really understand these professional things. I'm just an ordinary miner."
We chatted and laughed all the way and soon arrived in front of a row of houses.
"We're here. This is our warehouse. Please come in, Captain Shanks." Daniel opened one of the doors and made an inviting gesture. "There's everything in there. You're welcome. Take your pick."
When the warehouse door was opened, mountains of supplies were revealed inside. All kinds of things were neatly placed on the shelves, which was dazzling.
Shanks, unsuspecting, walked into the warehouse first, scanning the shelves. "Great! You do seem to have a very rich supply here."
At Daniel's enthusiastic invitation, Beckman and others followed suit and scanned the shelves with vigilant eyes.
Meli kept looking around curiously, feeling that everything here was very new.
Laqi Lu couldn't help but sigh: "There are indeed a lot of good things."
Just when Shanks and his three companions walked to the middle of the warehouse, unexpectedly, an accident happened.
The ground trembled slightly, and suddenly a long crack appeared under the feet of Shanks and others.
This is a trap!
"careful!"
Shanks yelled, his eyes instantly sharpening.
But in a moment, the four people were no longer there, and the crack closed quickly.
Daniel stood at the door of the warehouse, staring at the crack of the door, and laughed heartily: "A few lousy pirates, you want to fight me? Humph!"
"Huh? What are you laughing at?"
A doubtful voice suddenly came from behind Daniel.
Daniel's confident and arrogant laughter came to an abrupt halt, and he froze in place. He turned around suddenly and found Shanks standing behind him, with the little octopus on the straw hat glaring at him angrily.
This sudden change frightened Daniel's face and he looked panicked. "You...why are you here?"
Shanks smiled playfully, "If I'm not here, where should I be?"
"You..." You should be under the crack!
Daniel's eyes rolled a few times. After all, he was a cunning old fox. He quickly calmed down and changed his tone. He said threateningly, "Your three companions are trapped under the crack. Only I can open this switch. You don't want them to get hurt, do you?"
Shanks pointed to Daniel's right rear side and said in a relaxed tone, "Ah, don't worry about that. They are right there."
Daniel subconsciously turned his head to look, his pupils constricted instantly, and his face turned pale.
Beckman, Gob and Lachi Lu were all standing in the corner of the warehouse, as if the trap just now was just an illusion.
Beckman smiled coldly at Daniel, clenched his fists and hit them together, making a banging sound.
"Mr. Daniel, this is a truly 'warm' way to welcome you."
