23 The Wind in the Building (Part 2)
◎ "Girl, something happened!"◎
Before Zhuang Xueling could finish her words, Tian Nong Le immediately sat up and said anxiously, "How could this happen? Father has always been in good health!"
His only response was his wife's soft sobbing.
"This, this, does mother know?" Tian Nongle reached out to touch his wife's shoulder, his fingertips turned pale from the force.
"It was so sudden. I didn't have time to tell you." Zhuang Xueling choked.
Tian Nongle nodded, he stood up completely, his thoughts returned, he put on the mask of a good husband again, and gently wiped the tears from his wife's face.
"I'm still here." Tian Nongle took his wife, who rarely showed a look of panic, into his arms. The joy in his heart almost overcame his pity.
Unfortunately, the person he embraced lowered his head too much, so his gaze could only fall on the silver screen and golden house where he was.
Tian Nong Le stroked his wife's beautiful black hair, his eyes already quietly filled with mountains of gold and silver and tenderness.
After his father-in-law passed away, as long as the people in his arms supported him, he could go against the crowd and become the banker.
Even if she disagrees, he has plenty of ways to make her soften her heart.
Thinking of this, Tian Nong Leqing couldn't help but smiled softly for a moment.
The two of them had different thoughts, and neither of them noticed the other's abnormality.
"Although the incident happened suddenly, I didn't notice it while staying at home all day. You have reason to blame me." Zhuang Xueling had cried enough, raised her tearful face, and said in a sad voice.
Tian Nongle had just forced his mouth to lower its corners, but now his eyebrows couldn't help but tug down. He asked in a stunned voice, "What does this mean?"
He was a quick-witted person and immediately realized what he had misunderstood after hearing this. However, he didn't want to believe it and kept asking the same question over and over again.
Zhuang Xueling had long lost her patience and struggled to break free from her shackles. After he had asked enough questions, she stood in front of her distraught husband and said, "Go check on him, Yuejun."
Tian Nongle stood there, as if his soul had been taken away, and did not react at all to her words.
"Yuejun?" Zhuang Xueling gently patted the man in front of her on the shoulder and emphasized, "Father...your father passed away."
Tian Nong Le suddenly reacted, growled, and found strength from nowhere in his frail body to overturn the table to the ground, scattering the plum cakes that he had not yet eaten.
Fu Lian, who was waiting outside the house, hurried over when he heard the noise, pushed open the door, stood in front of Zhuang Xueling, and stared at Tian Nong Le, as if he was facing a great enemy.
This was an act that went against the rules, but Tian Nong Le had no intention of blaming anyone.
Zhuang Xueling signaled Fu Lian to step back, and the master and servant waited in silence for the next move of the man in front of them.
Tian Niu accidentally fell when he got up at night. When the servants invited him to have breakfast, there was no response from inside the house for a long time. The servant serving at the door was a timid newcomer who did not dare to urge his master, so the food got cold.
When Tian Niu's body had cooled down completely, the boy was finally spotted by a patrolman.
After discussing it, they didn't dare to enter without permission, so they went to the outer courtyard to call the manager of the bank.
The steward knocked on the door twice outside the house, but when no one answered, he first asked everyone inside and outside the manor, and when no one saw him, he told the servant to roll up his sleeves and climb in through the window.
This turned over, and the already timid servant was even more frightened by the scene before him!
He crawled to the door in a panic, opened it arbitrarily, pointed inside the house and was unable to say a word.
There was such a delay that Zhuang Xueling did not receive the news until the sun was high in the sky.
Fu Lian was beaming with joy when she spoke to her, but she couldn't see any difference. She closed the door and told Tian Nong Le on the couch about it.
This should be a cause for celebration. Farmers who work in the fields all year round, even if they have a minor limp, will not die directly from falling on flat ground.
After all, the wailing could wake up the servants guarding outside the house.
But Tian Niu died instantly without disturbing even a single bird.
There's no need to go into details; it must be the medicine she fed him day after day that took effect.
But Zhuang Xueling did not feel as happy as she had imagined, and even felt a little inexplicably irritated.
It was not until she saw her husband lying silent beside her that she understood where her unhappiness came from.
Tian Nongle smeared his face and looked at Zhuang Xueling. His voice had regained its composure. "I'll go take a look."
He thought it was an excuse.
You're already dead, what's the point of looking at it?
The pipe dream was shattered, and anger prevailed for a moment.
But when Tian Nong Le came to his senses, he felt a wave of desolation again.
My legs went weak for a moment when I went out, and even after I held on to the wall, I still felt a little dizzy.
After pinching the bridge of his nose, Tian Nong Le finally remembered something and told the maid who was waiting for him, "Find a few people to go to Tianjia Village and invite my mother over."
The maid did not move after receiving the order. She glanced at Zhuang Xueling in the room and only agreed after receiving her nod.
Just as they were about to leave, Zhuang Xueling said, "Call two more people who can ride horses and go to the old ancestral hall to bring Jiaci back."
Hearing this, Tian Nong Le looked at his wife deeply and was quite touched.
On the surface, this person has long been the heir of the Zhuang family. It has nothing to do with him who dies in the Tian family. Yet, she can make such concessions.
Zhuang Xueling felt that the look was extremely disgusting.
She didn't think too much, she just wanted to see the Tian family crying together.
lively.

Tianjia Village, Qi Family.
After Tian Nongxi and the other person went out, Qi Mi and her son were not idle either. They got up early to prepare for today's "banquet".
"Mom, let me do it." Qi Hengan took the rice that Qi Mi had just washed from her hand with one hand, supported her shoulders with the other hand, and led her out the door, "You go back and rest."
"How can that be? I said I would cook, wouldn't that be a breach of trust?"
"Then I'll wash and cut the vegetables first, and then call you over." Qi Hengan knew his mother's character, so he stopped trying to persuade her. He poured rice into the pot and said.
Qi Mi responded, but turned around and stood in front of Qi Hengan, looking at him with a smile.
"Are you feeling sorry for your mother, or do you want to cook soup for your beloved yourself?"
Qi Hengan's thoughts were exposed, his face turned red with shame, and he stammered and couldn't utter a complete sentence.
Qi Mi saw this and his smile faded a little.
How could she not see his thoughts? After all, they were her own flesh and blood. She could love whoever she wanted to be with forever. Although she did not try to control too much, she was still a little worried.
This time when he came back, Qi Mi had his own little thoughts.
On the one hand, after not seeing each other for several years, she really missed Tianjia Village and the lonely and poor child in Tianjia Village.
On the other hand, as a mother, she also wants to do something for her child. Heng'an is about to come of age, and if the two of them are in love, she will go along with it.
But when she came back this time, she felt that Er Niang seemed like a different person.
The girl who once curled up in the corner, licking her wounds, even crying silently, and stubbornly shook her head saying that she was fine when she walked over, but remained silent when asked if she really liked embroidery, actually took over her past pain with sparkling eyes.
There's more to it than that.
After just over an hour of contact, Qi Mi felt that Tian Er Niang was different in every way.
The most important thing is that the look in her eyes when she looked at Qi Hengan was no longer shy.
The emotions of adolescence are always exposed. Even if you think you have hidden them, they will still show up in the corners of your eyes and eyebrows.
But this time when she came back, Er Niang looked at Heng An without any reservations, she looked straight at him, just like looking at a tree.
Could there really be such a big change in two years?
Qi Mi looked at his son's curved mouth and was about to say something when there was a knock on the door in the distance.
She was close to the door and left after saying, "I'll go and take a look."
He walked all the way to the outer courtyard and saw Huang standing at the door, so he welcomed her in.
"The door is open. You can just walk in next time. It would seem strange to be so polite to us." Qi Mi and Huang Shi were not very familiar with each other. They had not seen each other for two years and had nothing to talk about.
The two of them walked all the way from the door to the inner courtyard, chatting casually. Since they were both generous people, the atmosphere was not too dull.
Huang came back from the fields early and brought a small basket of Chinese cabbages to the Qi family. They were very fresh, with morning dew still on the leaves. Qi Mi wanted to take them, but was always stopped by Huang.
"Let me do it, let me do it. You are not suited for this." Huang said as she moved the bamboo basket to the other side.
This look reminded Qi Mi of the years when they were neighbors with the Hetian family. The strangeness in his heart dissipated a little, and a more genuine smile appeared on his face.
"Auntie, what's the difference between you and me?" Qi Mi blew the wind, coughed softly a few times, and continued, "I am a little weak, but I can still do these small jobs."
Huang relaxed her grip, Qi Mi took the bamboo basket, and both of them had a faint smile on their faces.
Huang Shi saw Qi Mi's eyes sweeping over the cabbages and said hurriedly, "Second Mother's girl planted quite a lot of them. They are more useful than me, an old woman."
Qi Mi agreed, "Second Mother is very powerful."
"She's very well-behaved and sensible. She's young, but very skillful. She can do everything from washing clothes and cooking to sewing," Huang said with a smile. "All the relatives envy her."
Seeing Qi Mi smiling, Huang said, "She's old enough, but unfortunately, she doesn't have parents to look for a husband. She still hasn't found a husband. It's so worrying!"
Qi Mi said: "The most important thing is to be liked by Second Mother."
Seeing that Qi Mi didn't seem to have that intention, Huang nodded sullenly and changed the subject.
When the two of them walked into the main hall, Qi Hengan had already made tea.
He also took the time to take off the old clothes he wore when cooking and changed into a brand new long gown. His cheeks were inexplicably flushed when he greeted Huang.
Although Qi Hengan came back early, it happened to be the time when Huang was not at home, so it was the first time the two met in two years.
Huang exclaimed "Ah", and looked around Qi Heng'an again and again, feeling extremely satisfied, until Qi Mi pulled her to sit in the guest seat.
Qi Hengan's face was as red as a hairy crab fresh out of the pot, and the sweat on his face could not be hidden. He hesitantly greeted again, "Grandma Tian."
"Oh!" Huang took the tea and drank it quickly. Her eyes narrowed into slits as she smiled and said, "Brother An has grown so much over the years that I don't even recognize him." She exaggerated. Qi Heng'an was already seventeen when he left Tianjia Village. His appearance had long been fixed and he had not grown much in height. If there were changes, they were just like a cabbage pulled out of the ground becoming a cabbage washed in water.
Even Qi Mi's mother had to look carefully to see it.
Huang asked, "Are you married now?"
Qi Hengan shook his head.
Huang added, "Such a good child should be treated with care."
Qi Hengan hesitated.
Qi Mi took over the conversation, "As long as he likes it." She looked towards the door and said, "It's getting late. Heng'an, stay with your aunt for a while. I'll go prepare the meal."
Hearing this, Huang stood up quickly, wiped her hands on her body, and said, "I'll help you."
"I'll help too!"
Qi Mi glanced at his son who took a step forward and did not refuse.
Fortunately, the Qi family's kitchen was big enough for three people to stand in. Qi Mi was busy at the stove, while Qi Hengan was washing and cutting vegetables on the side.
Although Huang wanted to help, how could she really let a guest do the work? Qi Mi and Qi Hengan kept an eye on her all the time, especially Qi Hengan, who was afraid that if he didn't keep an eye on her for a while, the guest would do the work.
Huang had nothing to do, so she made small talk. "I've lived for most of my life, and this is the first time I've seen a man in the kitchen." Her eyes were filled with envy and admiration, but her words seemed to indicate disapproval. "You're all educated. Nong Le knows that men can't enter the kitchen."
"How did that sentence go..." Huang pondered for a moment, then laughed loudly twice, "I'm too stupid to remember it."
"A gentleman should stay away from the kitchen?" Qi Hengan asked. He was about to say something else when he was interrupted by Qi Mi.
"Go and kill this." Qi Mi pointed at a lively fish and drove Qi Hengan out of the kitchen.
When Qi Hengan went out with the fish, Tian Nongxi and Lin Luan had already returned to Tianjia Village.
The two walked all the way, but neither of them looked tired.
Tian Nongxi was weighing the silver in his arms, feeling very happy. He saw that the trees at the entrance of the village were quite beautiful. He wanted to praise them, but was choked by the sudden dust.
Dust was flying as a horse rushed towards somewhere without slowing down at all, ignoring the pedestrians on the roadside.
Tian Nongxi frowned and looked away, suppressing the sudden panic in his heart, and shook his head at Lin Luan to indicate that everything was fine.
She took a few sips of water as she walked, and finally arrived at the alley where the Tian family lived. Before she got close, she heard a hurried knock on the door.
The unfamiliar man was lying on the gate of the Tian family, looking inside through the crack of the door. He knocked heavily on the rotten wooden door of the Tian family and shouted something.
"What is this?" Tian Nongxi and Lin Luan looked at each other, put the kettle back into the backpack, walked up and patted the man on the shoulder.
The servant sent over didn't recognize her, but he knew that his son-in-law had a niece who was about the same age as the woman in front of him, so he didn't even bother to look her over and went straight to the point, "Miss, something's wrong!"
【Author’s words】
"As for the gentleman, when he sees animals alive, he cannot bear to see them die; when he hears their cries, he cannot bear to eat their flesh. For this reason, the gentleman stays away from the kitchen." - Mencius
It's the weekend, and the main author has appeared again. Yes, the main author is a college student, not a high school student, a junior high school student, or an elementary school student. If you want to know why he only appears on weekends, the fundamental reason is that the main author has classes every day and rushes to the library as soon as class is over, making his already flat butt even flatter. Logically, the main author should have time to write after returning to the dormitory under the moonlight, but the main author is too good to himself. He takes an hour to take a shower, and then plays with his phone for an hour. Finally, when the clock struck midnight, he decided to take care of his health, go to bed early and get up early, put down his phone, and put down his writing (…) At present, the main author has decided to change his ways and devote more time to writing next week, because this word count is really going to make the list (haha…) Deduct 666 to support the main author. If you don't deduct it, the main author will deduct it himself. Next week, the main author has decided to write while carefully thinking about how to balance the present life and writing. As for whether there is an answer, please stay tuned (this line is dubbed, can you hear it? ^ω^)
