Chapter 104
Who is the young King Rinister?
Is this the Pope's hypothesis about another world?
The Seventh Protector's mind was in complete chaos. The conversation between the two kept replaying in his mind like thunderclaps. He shuddered, and he seemed to hear the sound of the young king flicking his sword again.
No, the young king has already given the sword to the Pope.
The Seven Protectors looked up blankly and saw the Pope, holding a long sword, stride away from the place.
Outside the palace, sand and dust filled the air, and the young man's figure quickly disappeared into the twilight.
He then noticed that although the sandstorm outside was strong, very little sand was being blown into the palace.
The young King Rinister turned around, stared at him, and said something inexplicable: "You're fake too."

Veris was well-versed in history, but due to the severe loss of books, he relied on the inherited memories of his divine status to learn about Icarus, who lived seven or eight hundred years ago.
He walked out of the palace, looked up, and saw several deities walking arm in arm across the sky, laughing and joking, not even glancing at the creatures on the ground.
Then several gods fought together, and the flames they threw landed on the ground and exploded hundreds of meters away, instantly evaporating the farmers working in the fields.
A deity stood on a cloud, weeping over the dead humans on the ground.
A deity was dozing in the sky when he was killed by another deity. However, the deity who killed him suddenly grabbed his neck, transformed into a wild boar, fell from the clouds, and was smashed into a bloody pulp.
After a while, a cloud of mist rose from the minced meat, and the drowsy god opened his cunning eyes and devoured the remaining divine power.
A deity was chasing after another deity, loudly professing his love, saying he would ask the god of love for his arrow so that the other person would never leave him.
A point of red light pierced through the thick clouds, through layers of divine power, through countless gods, large and small, and through the bodies of the two gods.
It is Cupid's arrow.
However, where the arrowhead should have been, the arrow tip was instead placed.
The two deities immediately turned against each other and fought fiercely until they both perished.
A deity loudly proclaimed that the god of love was about to instigate a divine war, but no one responded to Him.
After a while, the sky returned to its previous state, as if nothing had happened.
At that moment, a figure appeared among the clouds.
Looking up from here, one sees a sky-blue firmament, radiating a holy, soft light; looking down, one sees layers of soft, piled-up clouds, through which deities move, their divine power shimmering like countless threads wrapped around their bodies.
Among the clouds, one can see many strange and wonderful buildings: spherical, square, axe-shaped, and exactly like human palaces...
A warm, gentle breeze stirred Veris's robes. In his hand he held the longsword inlaid with countless gems. These beautiful, translucent gems, however, lost all their color and became dull and lifeless above the dreamlike clouds.
He didn't care; his gaze traveled far, piercing through countless clouds, and accurately captured the Sky Palace at the edge of the world.
A deity noticed him and, upon discovering that he was human, his expression changed drastically.
Humans...humans!
Some gods fled silently, while others flew into a rage and launched an attack on Veris—damn humans, how dare they set foot in the sky!
However, the divine attack vanished without a trace the moment it touched the area around the youth.
The young man glanced at the attacking deity, raised his free left hand, and a light golden magic circle appeared. The bow and arrow pattern in the center shimmered with dazzling golden light and instantly unleashed powerful energy. A beam of light shot out, and to the astonishment of the deity watching from a distance, he killed that deity... as easily as crushing an ant.
No, no, this is not human! This terrifying power, this overwhelming faith, even Yannis cannot compare to one ten-thousandth of it. What did they see? They saw the divine power that erupted from the young man under the sky, comparable to the consciousness of the world, and countless distorted shouts that filled their consciousness.
This is a new god, this is a new king!
The gods fled in panic, no longer daring to confront this new god.
But some gods still rushed forward like moths to a flame, only to be slain by the longsword. Their bodies—not all human, always strangely shaped—were cut to pieces by the longsword, and their bodies fell to the ground of Icarus.
As they were familiar with, this new god should have absorbed the scattered divine power to strengthen his own divinity, but he did not.
The new god didn't even glance at the fallen deity, allowing that divine power to nourish the land of Icarus.
The humans on the ground seemed to sense something, looking up at the sky and watching the blood and flesh falling continuously, as if a crazy rain of blood was falling.
What kind of sword is he holding?
"Unheard of!"
"Run! Let's run to the corners of the world, let's run into the souls of humanity, let's run to the opposite side of the world! We don't want to die!"
"I am God, I will devour Him!"
"Shut up! Go to hell!"
"Go, go find the God of Time, I need to hide..."
"Aaaaaaahh ...
That longsword, that longsword belonging to humankind, forged by humankind, inlaid with inferior gems, pierced through their bodies, pierced through their souls throughout all time.
They were truly dead after all...
This is a massacre caused by the arrival of a new god!
Every day, gods die. No god can escape the sword that judges sins, and no god can withstand the divine power that gathers the faith of countless people. They regard humans as lice and ants, but now they are completely powerless to resist this human faith.
The forces of nature could no longer keep them triumphant.
Escape to the past, escape to the future, escape to the opposite side of the world, turn yourself into air, turn yourself into mud and sand, turn yourself into lice, turn yourself into a beast, turn yourself into a lowly slave, and offer your neck to the cold edge of the King's Sword.
Every day, blood and flesh fall from the sky; every day, new buds sprout from the soil. The sandstorms disappear, the soil becomes fertile, the streams sing joyful songs, King Linister's army regroups, and the young king's sword is invincible wherever it points.
Astrologers say that the gods in the sky are dead, and there are more and more stars in the sky.
Who killed that high and mighty god? Who judged the deeply sinful god? And what will happen next? Will the swords raging across the sky fall upon them?
How could they resist, with the axes in their hands? With their fragile stone houses?
Soon, the fearful people stopped thinking about such things. King Linist's army had already traversed every inch of Icarus's land. They traveled day and night, riding dragons, and loudly proclaiming the young king's great achievements.
One day, in a small town on the continent of Icarus, a necromancer skilled in curses lifted the Manlineno curse from Carlo.
One day, at the Sky Palace at the edge of the world, Veris once again stepped into this place and gazed at Yannis, who sat on the throne of the gods.
Outside the Heavenly Palace, the corpses of gods lay scattered, their dissipated divine power accumulating and enduring.
The god stared intently at Veris and asked, "Who exactly are you? You are clearly human, so why do you possess such great divine power?"
Veris's gaze was calm, blood dripping from the King's Sword in his hand. He said, "I am here to kill you."
"You can't kill me."
"You will die by my hand sooner or later."
Yannis laughed sarcastically, not believing it: "You underestimate the faith in the sky. The sky extends throughout the entire world, and wherever the firmament reaches, my divine power continues endlessly. As for you, in the shadows of countless worlds, humanity will never exist forever."
Veris smiled slightly: "Who believes in the heavens?"
He said, “Who believes in you? Is it the grass and trees? Shouldn’t the grass and trees believe in the god of grass and trees? I killed Him.”
“Was it an animal? Shouldn’t animals believe in the God of life? I killed Him.”
"Are you human? If you look down on humans, why do you still spread your faith across the continent?"
"You are afraid of humanity. You say that humanity cannot exist in countless worlds forever, but I tell you, our history will only be written by humanity, and our existence will only be witnessed by humanity."
Veris raised his wrist, the tip of his sword pointing directly at Yannis: "You can go to the other side of the world, to find a world without humans, and kill me first, thus avoiding your own death."
"But how will you find me in a world where humans don't exist?"
Yannis's face turned ashen.
Veris was still smiling when he said, "I don't exist, but I still exist."
"Why should I!" Yannis couldn't help but stand up, staring intently at the people in the hall.
"Because legends are just legends, but history will forever remember my name."
The sword tip unleashed terrifying divine power. Yannis lowered his brows and gathered all his divine power, preparing to receive the attack. The dazzling divine power was almost a collection of the most perfect creations in the world, illuminating the entire sky.
"You are not human!" In the midst of the clash of immense divine power, Yannis suddenly realized something and shouted.
The young man's gentle voice rang out from somewhere: "Yes, I am not human, I am the son of God, I am God's executioner."
When Yannis heard this, he seemed to have his throat choked and couldn't say a word.
He then heard Veris say, “I know you will not die so easily.”
The King's Sword suddenly pierced out. Yannis couldn't believe it. How could that ordinary sword have pierced through His barrier and penetrated His indestructible divine body?!
The violent clash of divine power had left the Sky Palace in ruins. Yannis was nailed to a pillar, his resentful gaze fixed on Veris, as if it were poisoned.
"The only end for God is death."
"You have already foreseen this ending, you have even thought of the correct answer, yet you still despise humanity."
Yannis sneered: "Why can't I look down on humans? The existence of ants and lice, to be used by me, is their good fortune. I will grant their wishes, isn't that enough?"
"Aren't you also looking down on humanity?"
Veris said, "Think what you want, but humanity will accept me, not you, and you won't leave a trace in the future."
One sentence enraged Yannis once more. He let out a heavy breath, and his divine power erupted from his body once more.
Veris, however, turned the sword of kings, the sword of kings that was pinned to His head, around.
He immediately cried out in pain, but soon his cry was tinged with terror.
This sword...something's not right.
It permeates His divine body, permeates all parallel worlds, opposite worlds, and all the past, present, and future.
How could such a thing possibly exist?!
"No one... can judge our deaths..."
Yannis's voice was weak, and he was still struggling.
Veris smiled, his voice very soft.
"We should all go to hell."
Yannis's pupils constricted dramatically.
He finally noticed the difference in Veris's eyes.
"Heh...heh...you!"
"Demon! You have betrayed God!!" He practically spat out those words through clenched teeth.
Veris said, "Death doesn't belong to the Icarus pantheon, so what are you angry about?"
His red eyes shone with a different light as he watched Yannis's body slide limply down. Looking down at him, his eyes reflected Yannis's pale face, and he said softly, "Fool, remember this: it was I who judged the gods."
