Chapter 45

Chapter 45

Although Ango's transformation was sudden, Xisen didn't have time to delve into it.

He told Ango concisely, "Mo Li sent people to Sun Town. Things here still make him suspicious."

Sun Town and Morino City are close together, and with the recent spate of strange happenings, it's no surprise that they'd attracted Li Qiye's attention. It was only natural that he'd dispatch Shi Sen to investigate the situation and try to muddy the waters.

However, due to his own interference, Qiqiong's plan did not go as smoothly as he had imagined. Therefore, he chose to put pressure on Xi Sen while sending others to conduct a second investigation, which was in line with his usual style.

"Who did he send?"

"I don't know. He asked someone to come again to secretly investigate whether there is any problem with me. Then how could he tell me?" Xi Sen sneered.

It seems that Mo Li is very dissatisfied with Xi Sen’s recent work, Ango thought.

Then Xi Sen must have learned this information from other channels, perhaps from other undercover spies or people from MAA.

"MAA is well-informed." Ango joked.

"Don't you see my status?" Xi Sen was in a mood to joke. "The current captain of the MAA informed me."

"Where did Qiqiong send his informant to start his investigation? The school?" An Ge asked calmly, "After all, Hu Gang died here."

"That's what we suspected. Besides, the school is full of mixed people, so it's easy to get in. There are refugees and people from Huiying Middle School."

“So, the screening range is very large.”

"That's right, but I prefer it to be among the twenty people who came from Huiying."

A total of eighteen students and two leading teachers came to Huiying.

Xi Sen's thinking was reasonable, considering Huiying School was located in Morino City. The teachers and students were more likely to have connections with the Interhead Corporation. The refugee families at Taiyang Town Middle School... seemed a bit further away from the corporation.

"I know some of the group's researchers provide technical guidance to Dihua. Do they have the same relationship with Huiying?"

Xi Sen shook his head. "I've never heard of it. These things are never my responsibility. I don't know Huiying's team leader either. He doesn't look like an employee of the group, but he might be a planted spy."

The IntelliHead Group's informants are spread across various industries. Typically, these individuals already have a good relationship with the group, and the group then assigns dedicated personnel to develop them one-on-one. Once successfully developed, they will then provide intelligence to the group, forming an underground intelligence network.

So it’s normal that Xi Sen didn’t know him.

"That means the informant is most likely among those twenty people, both teachers and students," Ango had a rough idea. "The simulation competition will be held tomorrow, and the awards ceremony will be held the day after tomorrow. These two days are their last chance to act."

At this point, Ango suddenly thought of the laboratory equipment and reagents scattered in the health room and the secret base. Although this had nothing to do with the Hu Gang incident, it might become the fuse that exposed her identity.

Ango's eyes grew darker.

It is not convenient for her to hide all those things now, and many of the things under the school building belong to the former teacher Ji Fanyue. They have been sealed in the basement for many years and were later discovered by Tang Yu. It is better for her not to panic and make a big noise.

We can only take it one step at a time.

"Why wasn't that video released?" Ango asked again.

If Xi Sen spread the video, the church would not be able to argue about the subsidy issue, and Mo Li would not send anyone to investigate.

Ango wasn't entirely sure of Xisen's motives, but she didn't think he was stupid. He must have his reasons for doing so. Of course, if she had the chance, she'd still like to persuade Xisen to move forward, to help resolve the issue with Irene and the others.

"Oh, now's not a good time." Xi Sen said with a smile, "I have to add more fuel to the fire and leave Qiqi speechless."

Ango understood.

As work partners, the two of them had a tacit understanding. If it weren't for Xisen's extreme personality and her doubts about the shipwreck, Ango would have been willing to cooperate with him.

That night, Ango went to bed early. This time she had no dreams all night. When she woke up the next day, she felt refreshed, and the fatigue she had accumulated over the past period of time was also relieved a lot.

When she arrived at the school, she was surprised to find that Teacher Jin Hui was already sitting in the office, chatting and laughing with Renee Jas.

"Good morning, Teacher An," Jin Hui greeted with a smile. "I'm sorry to bother you so early in the morning. Teacher Weng Ya will be here with the students at 10 o'clock."

After Xi Sen's reminder last night, Ango became extra vigilant. She nodded and greeted Jin Hui, then sat down and listened to the three of them chatting. She glanced slightly to the side, wondering if this teacher had any other intentions by coming so early.

Their topic revolved around the simulation competition that started at noon. Since it was the home court of Taiyang Town Middle School, Jin Hui seemed to want to get more information from the teachers, but Principal Meng was always fair and did not reveal the details of the task in advance.

"I've told you everything we know," Renee said with a wry smile. "There's nothing more to say. The venue has been sealed off in advance and nothing will change. Principal Meng will personally arrange the mission items this morning to ensure they are completely safe."

"Okay, okay." Jin Hui said a few "okay" words, then said embarrassedly, "I have no choice. Teacher Weng Ya and those students are not paying attention. I can only swallow my pride and ask myself. It's better to prepare more."

"What else do you need to prepare!" Jas complained, "The students are already so good."

"Hey, you don't know, we lost miserably in that match against Dihua, and these students immediately lost their confidence..."

"Then compete with us and you'll find confidence." Jas teased.

Although he was talking with a smile, there was clearly a hint of anger in his eyes.

Jin Hui seemed to sense it as well, and said in a flustered tone, "Oh, that's not what I meant. It's just that leading a team alone always requires a lot of worry...Okay, I won't ask anymore. I'll go take a walk outside."

Turn around?

Ango turned his head slightly and stared at Jin Hui, only to see that the other party was holding his face with his fingers, then looking to the side awkwardly, preparing to get up.

The atmosphere suddenly became tense, and Ango became a little nervous and prepared to stand up.

If Jin Hui took this opportunity to wander around the school...

At this moment, Renee grabbed Jin Hui and pushed him back into the chair: "Jas didn't mean that, don't think too much."

"Yes, that's not what I meant. Don't think too much about it." Jas repeated it again, but it sounded sarcastic.

So Renee changed the subject: "Is Dihua really that powerful? What are their students like?"

"All of their participating members are above B-rank. As you know, being able to gather so many powerful people with special abilities shows that their school has a large base of high-level students. They are the champions of the island competition every year..."

Jin Hui started talking again, and the atmosphere among the three of them returned to peace.

Ango listened inattentively from the side, and when he saw that Jin Hui had no interest in touring the school or himself, his thoughts gradually drifted away.

If it wasn't Jin Hui, who would be the spy?

Weng Ya popped into her mind.

Although the spy could also be a student, her primary suspect was still the teacher in charge. After all, students had fewer opportunities to come into contact with the Interhead Group.

At ten o'clock, the pink and blue striped luxury bus once again stopped at the gate of Taiyang Town Middle School.

Teacher Weng Ya showed up on time with Huiying students. She was wearing a professional women's suit, a pair of gold thin-rimmed glasses, and high heels, exuding a strong aura.

Next to her, a sweet girl with chestnut curly hair, her chin raised high, her expression indifferent and cold.

The two of them stood out in the crowd.

"Tsk, I have to say, Qiu Yuan is really cute." Chester said in a low voice.

His voice was not loud, but it was very clear.

Tang Yu happened to be standing next to him. Upon hearing this, he rolled his eyes and stepped on Chester again: "What are you doing? Isn't Hai Xi cuter than her?"

Yang Haixi is also a sweet girl. They have similar styles but completely different personalities.

One is a spoiled young lady, the other is an innocent white moonlight.

Tang Yu obviously didn't like Qiu Yuan, which was why she immediately refuted Chester.

Chester curled his lips.

"Is Yang Haixi cute?" Ace asked Lin Yaoxin doubtfully, "Let alone Qiu Yuan, she has such a bad personality. I think she's similar to Hai Weir..."

Lin Yaoxin didn't intend to get involved in these matters and just said "hmm" perfunctorily.

"Who do you think is prettier?" Ace continued to ask.

Lin Yaoxin glanced at them speechlessly, paused, and said, "I think Doctor An is more handsome."

Ango and the other teachers were standing at the front, with the others in the first row behind them, so they could hear the conversation clearly.

"Flatterer!" Ace cursed. "You must have known she could hear you."

After saying that, Ace secretly glanced at Tang Yu's face again, wondering what he was thinking.

On the other side, Weng Ya approached the group without exchanging pleasantries. She simply said indifferently, "Principal Meng, please arrange for a gymnasium. Our Huiying students need a separate rest area and preparation space."

In the past few days, students from the two middle schools have been using the school gymnasium for training together, but Huiying is quite dissatisfied with this. So Weng Ya directly made a request today: "It's not good to always put the two schools together. We still need to discuss tactics."

As soon as these words were spoken, anger appeared on the faces of the students of Taiyang Town Middle School.

"Who does she think she is? It's our school, and we can't use the gymnasium?" Tang Yu looked angry.

The other students were also talking about it.

Principal Meng was in a dilemma. On the one hand, there were requests from the guests, and on the other hand, there were dissatisfaction from the students. He did not give an immediate response.

"Is this how you treat guests?" Qiu Yuan's tone was cold and sarcastic.

"Well, you guys can use the gymnasium to rest for a while first," Principal Meng said.

"Then in order to keep the tactics confidential, Principal Meng, please ask your school's students and teachers not to enter the gymnasium." Qiu Yuan reiterated.

"Then please ask Mr. Jin Hui to take the students to the gymnasium to rest. I have something to discuss with Principal Meng." Weng Ya extended her hand, indicating that they should go to the principal's office together. "I'd also like to borrow your office."

"I take that back." Chester fanned himself with his hands, not sure if it was because of the heat or anger. "She's ugly."

Watching the two groups of people walking away, Ango suddenly thought that if Weng Ya and Qiu Yuan joined forces, they could leave one of them in the gymnasium to search the warehouse while the other went to the principal's office to investigate the place where the school was most likely to hide secrets.

If so, it's a well-planned one.
