Chapter 4 Reporting Gambling

When Lin Shih-han returned to the Chen family, her biological mother came out of the house carrying a basin of dirty clothes and was shocked to see her return.

"Hanhan, why are you back?"

"You just got married yesterday, you should be at the Li family's house this morning, why are you back here?"

Lin Shih-Han glanced at the original owner's biological mother, and her feelings towards this mother were very complicated.

"Where did that guy surnamed Chen go?"

As she spoke, she went straight into the room, pulled the quilt off their kang cabinet, and rummaged through it.

"No?"

This was their usual hiding place for money, yet there was only eight dollars and fifty cents and three cents in it.

Her biological mother, Shen Meiling, chased after her and quickly stopped her when she saw her searching.

"Hey Hanhan, what are you doing?"

We only have this much money left at home, you can't take it!

Lin Shih-Han has no good feelings towards the original owner's mother.

"Where did that guy surnamed Chen go?"

"He went to work in the fields!"

What do you want with your Uncle Chen?

Lin Shih-han glanced at her and turned to leave. She wondered where the man surnamed Chen would go and sneered.

He took the five cents directly.

She ran to the Ge family's house in Sandaogou Village. There were people watching at the entrance of the Ge family's house. When they saw her, they immediately frowned and scolded her.

"What are you doing? Get out of here!"

Lin Shih-Han forced a smile at the gatekeeper.

"Uncle, I'm here to see my dad. My dad's name is Chen Jiang."

He told me to bring him money first thing this morning. How can I bring him money if you won't let me in?

When the man heard her say that, he realized that Chen Jiang, that sucker, was indeed inside.

He impatiently waved her in.

After entering, Lin Shih-han followed the sound of their voices and found a table of people playing cards.

Chen Jiang was also surprised to see her.

"Why did you come here? Didn't you marry into the Li family?"

"Hey, third sister-in-law, what brings you here?"

The person speaking was yawning, and there were dark circles under their eyes, indicating that they hadn't slept all night.

It was none other than the second son of the Li family.

This man is also a gambler, but his gambling habit is different from Chen Jiang's.

They are good at setting up schemes, like honey traps.

That's how Chen Jiang got scammed out of eighty yuan.

Now I hear him ask.

Lin Shih-Han pouted.

"I'm asking for a bride price of eighty yuan."

Her words caused the card players to burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, that's hilarious! This bride price is all for your parents, there's no share for you!"

"Exactly, exactly. Your parents worked so hard to raise you, didn't they spend any money?"

"You're still asking for a bride price? That just shows how ignorant you are."

"That's right, there's no reason for you to bring the bride price with you. Get out of here and stop bothering me while I'm playing cards."

Seeing you brings me bad luck!

Lin Shih-Han turned and walked away with her head down and eyes lowered.

The people behind me were still laughing and talking.

As Lin Shih-han left, a smile appeared on her lips.

She came here to confirm that they were playing cards here, and now that she has, things are much easier.

She turned around and spent a dime to call and report them for gambling.

Then they waited outside the Ge family's courtyard, and after a short while, people wearing red armbands came over.

They wiped them all out in one fell swoop.

She stood outside the courtyard watching those people being taken away.

Seeing them being led out, she took a deep breath, rushed forward, and shouted at Chen Jiang:

"Dad, Dad, I listened to you and reported them. Please give me the fifty yuan you promised."

Then, as he spoke, he addressed the leading secretary:

"Comrade, this is my dad. He asked me to call and report this. Can you please not arrest him?"

Chen Jiang realized what was happening and saw that the gamblers were looking at him with hostility, so he immediately shouted.

"It wasn't me, it wasn't me, I didn't do it!"

"You brat, how dare you lie and frame me! You just wait, I'll beat you to a pulp!"

Lin Shih-Han looked timid.

She bit her red lips as she looked at him.

"You were the one who said there would be a 50 yuan reward for calling and reporting them, and told me to report them."

"If it weren't for you, why would I have come this way?"

Even Li Lao Er couldn't hold back anymore; while being grabbed, he stretched out his foot to kick Chen Jiang.

"You bastard Chen Jiang, I won't let you get away with this!"

"Chen Jiang, what do you mean by this?"

"Chen Jiang, you just wait!"

Chen Jiang was truly like mud stuck to his crotch; even if it wasn't excrement, it was still excrement.

He couldn't clear his name even if he jumped into the Yellow River.

But then Secretary Xu patted him on the shoulder and said:

"Comrade Chen, you did a great job this time. You did the right thing. Don't be afraid of them."

As for the reward, it's definitely not fifty yuan.

Here's a 20 yuan reward for your daughter; that's all I can give her.

Lin Shihhan directly reached out and took the money from Secretary Xu's hand.

"Thank you, Secretary Xu. This twenty yuan is really important to me."

She bowed to Secretary Xu with great excitement, then, with tears in her eyes, she took the money in her hands and ran away.

Chen Jiang was still trying to explain to Secretary Xu.

"Secretary Xu, I really didn't."

Lin Shih-Han didn't get the eighty yuan back, but getting twenty yuan back is not bad.

The most important thing is to send Li Lao Er to prison, although it will only last for a month, but that's just the appetizer.

With twenty yuan, he immediately turned around and went to the city.

She wasn't in a hurry to get rich; she had left the terrible environment of the apocalypse, and the current environment couldn't be better.

She strolled leisurely down the street, watching people come and go, her clothes revealing two distinct sections.

The older people all wore black, gray, and blue cloth clothes.
