Chapter 16: Speed is key.
The toy was a yellow Psyduck. Jingge studied it for a while, then made the Psyduck squawk as it clumsily walked from her side to Li Mushi's side.
The scene was somewhat comical.
Especially when facing Li Mu, his face was expressionless.
Jingge was in a great mood and happily took Psyduck back, repeating the action over and over again.
It continued until the neighbor's kid was so tempted that he cried and begged his parents to order him the set meal.
Jingge silently tucked Psyduck into his arms.
“The kid is quite well-mannered,” she said dryly. “I’m afraid he’ll come over and ask me for it; that would be so embarrassing.”
Li Mushi responded with an "Mmm" as always.
Jing Ge sat down next to him: "Uncle..."
Li Mushi glanced at her untouched food: "Aren't you hungry?"
"Hungry," Jingge said, unable to finish her sentence, "Do you know who the boss assigned me as my mentor? You'd never guess! She's such a nice person. I wanted to hug her today, but I didn't dare. She had the same stern face as you..."
At this point, Jing Ge abruptly stopped talking.
It feels like they're talking badly about Li Mu.
However, Li Mushi asked calmly, "What did she do that makes you think she's so good?"
“There are many,” Jingge said. “She looks fierce, but she answers my questions patiently, and she even told me how to develop clients…”
Li Mushi: "Wasn't your previous boss like this?"
"......"
Jingge was dejected.
That was also how she initially described Anna.
Moreover, Li Mushi had told her that everyone in the company was a competitor.
All right.
Not only did she not remember, she also learned nothing from the experience.
She gets carried away when others are nice to her.
“I’m not saying you’re wrong,” Li Mushi handed her a disposable glove. “Doing your job well is the best reward for her and for yourself. You don’t need to have any other feelings or expectations for her.”
Jingge glanced at him.
Li Mushi met her gaze.
"Uncle, you might not know this," Jing Ge said with a grin, "but the feelings between us young people just grow wildly like weeds... I'll remember that!"
Ultimately, she couldn't withstand his sharp and serious gaze.
They succumbed to his tyranny.
Jingge shoveled rice into his mouth, but after taking just one bite, he remembered something: "Uncle..."
Li Mushi had a headache.
I knew this girl was talkative, but I didn't know she could talk this much.
Seeing his expression, Jingge's voice weakened: "She also ordered me a bowl of hot lean pork wontons, with my favorite dried shrimp."
Jing Ge's voice grew even weaker: "You haven't touched your chicken and mushroom soup. Can I have some?"
"..." Li Mushi's helplessness was visible to the naked eye. He pushed the soup towards her and said, "Drink it, drink it."
Jing Ge: "Can we switch our meal plans? I don't like kids' meals."
Li Mushi glanced at her out of the corner of his eye: "I don't like it either."
“But Uncle, you don’t like fast food at all,” Jing Ge argued softly. “No matter what kind of meal it is, we should both be happy.”
Li Mushi was speechless.
Jingge realized he was getting a little too forward: "I was just kidding, I like everything, as long as it's your soup..."
At this point, she mumbled in her throat, "Old people just can't take a joke."
"......"
Old age, elderly, person?
He's only 28!
She's at the perfect age, like a flower in full bloom!
It's still the kind that's about to bloom!
Li Mushi stood up expressionlessly and said, "I'm going to wash my hands."
Jingge waved: "Watch your footing, it's slippery."
"......"
As soon as the man left, two young ladies from another table immediately surrounded him, excitedly asking, "Sister, who was that gentleman to you?"
Jing Ge paused for a moment: "My uncle."
"Wow!!" the young woman exclaimed, barely containing her excitement. "Does your uncle have a girlfriend?"
"No."
"Wow! Could you please give us your uncle's contact information?"
"..." Jing Ge hesitated, "No, I can't. If I give it to someone else without his permission, he'll skin me alive."
"Wow! He's so principled and has such a strong personality. He's definitely not the kind of scumbag who messes around!"
Jing Ge: "".
You have a really sharp eye.
Young lady: "Um, could you ask for us first?"
After saying that, the two gave Jing Ge their contact information.
If Li Mushi agrees, they can be added directly.
Jing Ge nodded.
When Li Mushi returned, the two young ladies had already gone back to their seats.
Jingge hesitated for a long time, then glanced at his handsome face under the lamplight and asked cautiously, "Uncle, it must be lonely sleeping alone in this cold weather, right?"
Li Mushi: "."
Jing Ge beat around the bush: "Don't you want a lively, energetic girl kicking around in your bed?"
"......"
Li Mushi's gaze suddenly deepened, becoming dark and unfathomable.
Jingge glanced at him while handing him his contact information: "Did you see those two beautiful ladies over there? They want to get to know you."
Li Mushi's deep eyes suddenly froze.
A thick layer of frost.
Jingge observed his expression.
He seemed quite displeased.
Actually, she had always been curious about this young uncle of the Li family, wondering if he was not interested in women, otherwise how come he had never even had a girlfriend.
“I’ve given you the number,” Jing Ge said, not daring to say anything more. “You can decide for yourself.”
Li Mushi ignored her, reached over the pile of food, and took back the bowl of mushroom soup in front of her.
"..." Jing Ge tried to stop him, "Uncle, this is mine..."
She's already drunk it all.
Before she could finish speaking, Li Mushi's arm, which had rolled up half of its sleeve, reached out again, its target precise and direct, and snatched the Psyduck she had hidden in her arms.
Jingge was really anxious: "This is mine!"
Li Mushi remained serious and reached out his hand for the third time.
Not knowing what else he wanted to snatch, Jingge hurriedly scooped up the pile of things in front of her with both arms.
“It’s mine!” she emphasized.
As a result, Li Mushi glanced at her coldly and indifferently, and took two napkins from the tissue box next to her arm.
That's all.
Jingge wanted to cry but couldn't.
Staring longingly at the Psyduck that belonged to him.
Li Mushi didn't even glance at her, calmly eating his food and casually rolling up the phone number she gave him and the napkin together before throwing them away.
Jingge tried to reach out and take Psyduck back.
His hand was halfway outstretched when Li Mushi slapped it away.
What an insolent old man!
Jingge cursed him eight hundred times in his heart.
Despite his complaints, when Jingge finished eating and left, he immediately started flattering him, saying, "Uncle, let me help you with your coat."
Li Mushi: "No need, this fat goose is too heavy for you to lift."
“…” Jing Ge’s expression twisted slightly. “Uncle, can’t you tell the difference between a duck and a goose?”
After saying that, Jingge looked at him with pity: "Then you can play with it, Uncle. Remember next time, a duck has a flat beak and short legs."
Li Mushi's temple twitched almost imperceptibly.
"I know him."
"You know him?" Jingge's hands moved incredibly fast, and he swiftly pulled the Psyduck back from his coat pocket. "Then I won't give it to you."
Li Mushi: "."
It's all about being quick to grab something.
