Chapter 54 Spending the night made her run even slower

Chapter 54 Spending the night made her run even slower

Jin Suiqing felt hot and fuzzy, and after half a day of drowsy movement, she couldn't get out of bed.

Be patient a little longer.

After a while, she became so hot that she felt uneasy, and she squirmed for a few moments. This time, it wasn't just that she couldn't leave the blankets; it felt as if several thick iron chains, as tight as her wrists, were binding her body, and they seemed to be tightening around her even more.

Jin Suiqing was having difficulty breathing when he suddenly opened his eyes. What he saw was Jin Shiyu's beautiful bodhisattva-like face.

Jin Shiyu wrapped his arms around her through the blanket. His eyes were dark and his face was pale. There was no pillow, so his neck was exposed, making his posture look awkward no matter how you looked at it. Looking further down, he was fully clothed, probably without changing his clothes all night, and his collar was disheveled from her handling.

With such a long line of people lying on their sides around the bed, Jin Suiqing estimated that if she moved even slightly, Jin Shiyu would fall off.

Faced with the choice between dying from the heat and kicking Jin Shiyu out of bed, Jin Suiqing, believing that good communication is the beginning of success, decisively chose "or" and whispered, "Brother Shiyu? Brother Shiyu?"

Kim Shi-ok's already furrowed brows tightened even more, and he didn't open his eyes.

Jin Suiqing was so hot he could hardly breathe. He thought to himself, "I'm going to die from the heat." He breathed on Jin Shiyu's neck and continued to call out, "Jin Shiyu. Jin Shiyu. If you don't let go of me, I'm going to die from the heat."

Upon hearing her say "death," Jin Shiyu immediately opened her eyes, her eyes red and bloodshot, which frightened Jin Suiqing so much that she quickly swallowed back the even more unpleasant words that followed.

Forgetting the heat, she blinked and tentatively asked, "Brother Shi... didn't you sleep well?"

Kim Shi-ok stared at her with bloodshot eyes for a long time, then gave a soft, ambiguous hum, as if to answer.

Not only did he not sleep well, but Kim Si-ok barely slept a wink all night.

After taking Jin Suiqing's hair off, Jin Shiyu got off the bed and sat on a stool to watch over her. He stayed up until midnight and started to feel sleepy. He thought he would close his eyes and rest for a while, but when he closed his eyes, all he could see was Jin Suiqing carrying a small bundle and walking away. Jin Shiyu was so frightened that he immediately opened his eyes to make sure that Jin Suiqing was still there.

Seeing that the person was still fast asleep, Jin Shiyu closed his eyes again and opened them again, repeating this several times. No matter how good his spirit was, he couldn't stand such fickleness. He put on his coat, occupied the outer edge of the bed, and hugged Jin Suiqing to sleep through the quilt.

Little did they know that this was just the beginning of their torment.

Since he secretly applied the medicine at night when she was twelve, Jin Shiyu has never entered Jin Suiqing's room while she was sleeping. He wanted to eavesdrop, but he didn't dare to peek.

He hadn't understood the source of his cowardice before, but now he did: it was because he had desires and longings for Jin Suiqing and feared disrupting the harmony between the siblings, so he dared not get close to her freely.

The unexpected turn of events and the rapid change in her status caught Jin Shiyu off guard, robbing her of any chance of a long-term, peaceful relationship. According to business principles, she should act decisively.

But feelings are not as simple as doing business.

He feared that if he went too fast, Jin Suiqing would be frightened; yet he also feared that if he went too slow, Jin Suiqing would have already run away with her bundle, and he wouldn't be able to catch her. Not to mention that Jin Suiqing's identity was a mystery, and she had uttered too much nonsense. Looking back, Jin Shiyu became anxious and insecure, even more melancholic than the palace women in the stories.

He thought about it for a long time but couldn't find an answer. He gave up, thinking that he couldn't win people's hearts. He decided to focus on winning people over in a practical way first.

On the bed, Jin Shiyu held the person even tighter. He didn't dare to close his eyes for the first half of the night, staring at Jin Suiqing. In the second half of the night, his heart was finally nourished, and he snuggled up to Jin Suiqing, ready to sleep.

Jin Suiqing began to stir.

He never knew that Jin Suiqing was so restless in her sleep, twisting and turning in his arms, and the desire that had been suppressed all night was beginning to rise again. Jin Shiyu was once again caught in an irreconcilable dilemma.

Letting go of someone is risky, as they might run away; holding them is torture.

Jin Shiyu stared at Jin Suiqing's eyelashes and her pouting little mouth, thinking to herself, "She looks really ugly while sleeping."

I'll have to torment her sooner or later, making sure she can't sleep all night.

At this moment, Jin Suiqing saw that Jin Shiyu was lost in some indescribable reverie and refused to let go of her. Jin Suiqing really couldn't stand it anymore and said sullenly, "I'm not lying to you, I'm really dying of heat."

Jin Shiyu finally released his two steel-like arms, turned over, and sat on the edge of the bed with his back to Jin Suiqing, hunched over and with his elbows on his knees.

Judging from his crooked shoulders and unnatural sitting posture, Jin Suiqing guessed that his hands must have gone numb.

Hugging so tightly, it's no wonder her hands went numb. Ignoring the numbness, Jin Suiqing quickly kicked off the covers. The air was fresh but not cool enough. Not satisfied, Jin Suiqing squinted at Jin Shiyu's retreating figure.

He's cold.

Their old intimate habits were hard to break, but without the constraints of their sibling relationship, Jin Suiqing became unrestrained, shifting her position closer to Jin Shiyu and pressing her cheek against his back.

Jin Shiyu felt a refreshing coolness on her body and let out a comfortable sigh.

In an instant, Kim Shi-ok's back stiffened.

Ignoring everything else, Jin Suiqing rubbed against his back, looked up at him, and whispered, "Brother Shiyu."

Jin Shiyu twitched slightly, and Jin Suiqing continued, "I'm hungry."

For a fleeting moment, Jin Shiyu felt an urge to push Jin Suiqing back into bed, but he resisted and said with his head down, "There's food on the table, go and eat."

“Alright,” Jin Suiqing skipped past him, hopped to the table, opened the food box, and saw that the dish on the table was lotus leaf buns with honey-glazed pork. She complained, “This is for breakfast? It’s so greasy.”

Jin Shiyu closed his eyes, silently recited the Heart Sutra, and rolled it back and forth in his mind twice, but he still couldn't straighten his back. "Didn't you complain that the food in my room was bland? What, you're not happy with the change?"

Jin Suiqing: "It has to be hot, at least."

Kim Shi-ok almost laughed out of anger, thinking to himself that the dish was warm last night, but it got cold because you were asleep.

He then thought that she must be hungry after sleeping on an empty stomach all night, and if she ate something cold in a hurry, it would upset her stomach. His morning desires were still burning, and Jin Suiqing remained oblivious, making Jin Shiyu seethe with resentment.

What good is hatred?

Jin Shiyu, feeling utterly hopeless, stood up abruptly. It was hot and his clothes were thin, so even the slightest movement of his body revealed what shouldn't be visible. He walked towards Jin Suiqing, stood in front of her, and stared at her intently for a long time, his cheeks hollowing out. Only then did he pick up the food box, push open the door, and leave.

Before leaving, he didn't forget to lock the door.

The moment the lock was closed, Jin Suiqing's face turned bright red.

Jin Suiqing covered her face. She had been like brother and sister for too long and had gotten used to those little cross-border actions. Now that there was no ethical relationship between them, she had actually forgotten that Jin Shiyu was a normal man. Healthy men would have a physiological reaction in the morning. Not only had she forgotten this, but she also ordered him around and rubbed against his back!

Thunder rumbled down, striking Jin Suiqing head-on. Within three breaths, she rubbed her face and quickly returned to normal.

Having experienced the harsh realities of the modern workplace, she has become someone who adapts to any situation. Her greatest skill is quickly accepting the status quo, rapidly lowering her standards, and ensuring a smooth flow of wages.

Anyway, she'd seen everything she should and shouldn't have seen before, and she'd seen everything, so what if there was a layer of skin between them? From then on, Kim Si-ok was a walking David statue in her eyes.

PS is even more majestic than David.

Jin Suiqing stood there stunned for a long time, her cheeks flushed again, and she decided to stop deceiving herself. She held her face and wailed for a while before stopping. To find something to distract herself, Jin Suiqing decided to comb her hair.

The mirror in Jin Shiyu's room was upside down on the table. When Jin Suiqing turned the mirror over, he found that the bronze mirror was shiny and did not look like it was used normally.

Thinking about it carefully, the reason why someone as good-looking as Kim Si-ok doesn't like looking in the mirror is probably because he hates his face.

After all, he looks quite similar to Jin Guizhong, so it's normal to dislike him.

Jin Suiqing stood in front of the mirror, combing her hair while lost in thought. Perhaps Jin Shiyu's gradual change in opinion of her, from childhood to the present, was also inextricably linked to this face that resembled no one else.

As she was braiding her hair with a hair tie in her mouth, Jin Shiyu opened the door and walked in carrying a food box. Jin Suiqing didn't make a sound, but secretly peeked at Jin Shiyu's figure in the mirror.

It was clear to the naked eye that Jin Shiyu had panicked. He slammed the food box on the table and paced back and forth looking for her. His usually calm expression shattered for a moment.

He only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Jin Suiqing in the mirror. Jin Shiyu frowned, seemingly annoyed, but said nothing. He picked up the jewelry box from the table and walked towards Jin Suiqing.

He put down the box and naturally took Jin Suiqing's hair, saying, "Let me comb your hair."

Jin Suiqing tried to refuse and pull her hair back, but Jin Shiyu grabbed her hair and covered the roots with her large hand.

That way, she can neither pull it away nor hurt herself.

Jin Shiyu looked at Jin Suiqing in the mirror, pulling his hair until his face turned red and his neck was thick. In the end, he couldn't resist him and could only obediently hand over the right to comb his hair.

Finally, Jin Suiqing pouted and said sarcastically, "Comb, comb, comb it nicely for me."

Jin Shiyu used to comb Jin Suiqing's hair. Or rather, Jin Shiyu combed Jin Suiqing's hair until she was six years old, and Jin Suiqing trusted Jin Shiyu's skills.

But she shouldn't have trusted Kim Si-ok. Just like you can't trust Tony at the barbershop; if you say "cut it shorter" and don't give him the precise measurement, he'll never cut it to your desired length.

She told Jin Shiyu to style her hair nicely, until Jin Shiyu put nearly half of the jewelry box on her head. Jin Suiqing's neck couldn't take it and she quickly called for a stop, "Stop, stop, stop! Why are you putting so many hair ornaments on me?"

Jin Shiyu put down the comb, reached out with both hands to lift her face, relieving the pressure on her neck, and said with a smile, "Doesn't it look good? It suits Suiqing very well."

It wasn't a matter of whether it looked good or not; Jin Suiqing was speechless with emotion. Jin Shiyu's hairstyle made her look like a goddess descending to earth in full regalia. Even standing up and taking a few steps required her to exert all her strength to support her head, which felt like it weighed a ton. If she wasn't careful, she would definitely fall flat on her face.

Tony is disobedient and stubborn.

Jin Suiqing sighed, "It looks nice, but it doesn't need to be so elaborate. My head is too heavy, and my neck is uncomfortable. I don't need so many ornaments. Just a simple hairstyle will do." With that, she raised her hand to remove the complicated ornaments from her head.

But before her hand could touch her hair, Kim Shi-ok grabbed it, saying, "Don't take it off."

"Why?" Jin Suiqing was a little unhappy. Unable to break free, she raised her other hand to try and pry it off, but Jin Shiyu took the opportunity to cover that hand as well, pressing it against her chest with both hands overlapping, preventing her from moving. With a little force, he pressed her back, and Jin Suiqing leaned against him.

Looking in the mirror, Jin Shiyu embraced Jin Suiqing, the two as intimate as newlyweds.

He had never loved looking in the mirror so much. Through the mirror, Jin Shiyu looked closely at Jin Suiqing, not answering her why, but thinking to himself, "If I'm clumsy, I can run slower."

He also wanted to dress her in the most luxurious dress and make her run even slower so he could catch up.

Jin Shiyu caught Jin Suiqing and never wanted to let her go again.

Jin Suiqing wondered why he didn't speak. She wanted to look up at him, but the heavy hair ornaments blocked her way, forcing her to stay in his arms and unable to move. She could only twist and turn unhappily.

Jin Shiyu's breath hitched, and she arched her back again as she was rubbed against her. Jin Suiqing's back touched something hard and bouncy, but before she could ask what it was, there was a knock on the door.

The person knocked on the door very urgently, as if they wouldn't stop until the door was opened.

Jin Shiyu's temples throbbed, and he lowered his head to catch his breath. After calming down for a moment, he released Jin Suiqing and went to open the door.

Author's Note: I originally wanted to title this chapter "The Ordeal of Tintin," but it didn't fit the tone of the chapter, so I changed it.
