Chapter 61 He was tricked by Jin Suiqing again and wanted to take a bite.
Huangfu Li turned his head and asked Jin Suiqing behind him, "Sister Suiqing made a promise with her, is that right?"
It seemed like an inquiry, but in reality it was full of coercion, as if he would tear you apart if he found the slightest flaw.
Jin Suiqing dared not hesitate for a moment and said firmly, "Yes, that's right. The competition at the National Academy was still a bit too much for the Princess and me, so we agreed to have a drawing competition, with the goal of 'White Bird Facing the Phoenix Bell'."
Huangfu Feng added with a smile, "Now that His Highness the Crown Prince knows the truth, it's a bit unreasonable for him to still blame Sui Qing."
Huangfu Li stared at Huangfu Feng with a sinister look for a moment, then sneered coldly. He moved closer to Huangfu Feng, and as they confronted each other, he glanced away, ignoring Huangfu Feng, and smiled at Jin Suiqing over her shoulder, saying, "Really?"
Jin Suiqing puffed out her chest: "Of course it's authentic."
Huangfu Li: "Why is Sister Suiqing so guilty that she deliberately burned the blueprints?"
Jin Suiqing pouted, her originally loud voice dropping: "I burned the blueprints because I was afraid she'd say I drew them ahead of time and was being unreasonable..."
Huangfu Feng sneered, "Even if Miss Jin draws it in advance, she still can't beat me."
Jin Suiqing glared at him with tears in her eyes, while Huangfu Feng smiled and looked back at her. Their eyes met, and to Huangfu Li, an outsider, it seemed as if they were about to clash, yet also sharing a deep mutual respect.
His suspicions grew, but Huangfu Feng's involvement meant that revealing Jin Suiqing's identity would do him no good.
Huangfu Li's purpose in searching for Zhu Feng was to decipher the super sulfur combustion engine, completely eliminate the Jin family, and sideline the Magic Machinery Sect. His previous claim of informing Huangfu Ying about the fire was merely a tactic to scare Jin Suiqing.
If this matter were to reach the Empress, given Huangfu Ying's ruthless methods, his position as Crown Prince would be in jeopardy.
Left with no other choice, Huangfu Li had to give up.
Huangfu Li stared at Jin Suiqing with a sinister look for a moment, then suddenly laughed. He quickly stepped aside, bypassed Huangfu Li, approached Jin Suiqing, and forced Jin Suiqing back onto the railing, leaving him with nowhere to retreat.
Jin Suiqing was terrified, so much so that she held back her tears. "What are you doing!"
Huangfu Li squinted and smiled, "Nothing, Suiqing." Under Jin Suiqing's wary gaze, Huangfu Li blew a breath into her ear and whispered, "Listen carefully, you and she have switched identities. From now on, you are worlds apart. It doesn't feel good to fall from heaven to earth, does it?"
Jin Suiqing frowned, wondering what kind of hysteria this man was having now. Huangfu Li, however, thought he had touched a nerve with Jin Suiqing and continued, "Huangfu Feng took everything from you. If you want to take revenge on her, you are welcome to come to me anytime, Suiqing."
Huangfu Li hugged Jin Suiqing and shook her affectionately, saying, "Suiqing is so cute, see you next time." With that, he left.
Jin Suiqing slapped the places Huangfu Li had touched as if she had been smeared with dog poop. Huangfu Feng endured it for a long time, but finally couldn't help but laugh out loud at Jin Suiqing.
Jin Suiqing glared at her, and as she glared, tears streamed down her face. She choked out, "What are you laughing at?"
"Qingqing is so cute, hahaha," Huangfu Feng laughed so hard he hiccuped, and soon tears started streaming down his face. Jin Suiqing cried until she was breathless, and raised her hand to pound Huangfu Feng's chest.
After being hammered for a long time, Jin Suiqing cried harder and harder, until finally she started wailing, "You stinky Ye Zi, you bastard Ye Zi, what are you laughing at? What right do you have to laugh..."
"I'm so scared to be here all alone. It's so dangerous here. Why did you come here?!"
Ye Zhufeng wiped away Jin Suiqing's tears, held her in his arms, and said gently, "I've been here for a while."
Ye Zhufeng had grown much taller and easily enveloped her completely in his arms. Jin Suiqing was even more annoyed, wiping her snot and tears all over her clothes, and said angrily, "Then why didn't you acknowledge me? Why did you make me wait so long and worry for so long?"
Ye Zhufeng: "You think I'm a bad person?"
Jin Suiqing wrinkled her nose and shed tears in her arms.
Ye Zhufeng paused for a moment, then said seriously, "If I had told you beforehand, would you still have been able to bring yourself to harm me? Would you still have been able to complete the system mission?"
Jin Suiqing lifted her head from her embrace, sniffed, pondered for a moment, and said in a daze, "What you said seems to make a lot of sense."
Jin Suiqing's habit of speaking incisively and logically during emotional moments was learned from Ye Zhufeng.
Ye Zhufeng added, "Even if I tell you, will it hinder the storyline or mission?"
Jin Suiqing shook his head.
Ye Zhufeng raised an eyebrow and shrugged, looking smug.
Jin Suiqing then realized that Ye Zhufeng had completely taken away her emotional state, which had brought her to tears. She was so angry that she poked Ye Zhufeng's ticklish spot with her finger. Ye Zhufeng dodged, but she chased after her and poked her, saying, "When did you find me? Tell me now, or I'll poke you to death!"
Ye Zhufeng chuckled, "Before we even arrived in the capital, I found two names: Jin Suiqing and Zhufeng."
Jin Suiqing suddenly realized, "So it was you who was searching for me all over the black market back then!"
Ye Zhufeng nodded and continued, "Later, when I saw you in the cave after Yin Rushi tested me, I knew that you must be Qingqing."
At this point, Jin Suiqing anxiously pulled open Ye Zhufeng's sleeve and asked worriedly, "How's the knife wound? How bad is it? Does it hurt a lot? I didn't know it was you then, I hit you too hard. And the wound on the back of your hand, I rubbed that knife, does it still hurt a lot?"
Ye Zhufeng truthfully replied, "It's alright. You're too weak, so the cut wasn't deep. The wound on the back of your hand from the day of the final exam has healed, and the blood pack on the tip of the knife helped a lot."
When they fell off the cliff at Shuangji Mountain, Ye Zhufeng received the news and immediately set off to the cave to rescue them.
After taking Yin Rushi away, Ye Zhufeng did not leave immediately, but instead stayed by the cave to protect Jin Suiqing.
Ye Zhufeng discovered Jin Shiyu. To avoid revealing her identity too early, she used the blood from her wound to lead the sensitive Jin Shiyu to the cave. Only after confirming that Jin Shiyu had carried Jin Suiqing away did she leave with Yin Rushi.
Ye Zhufeng studied in a country that was constantly in turmoil, so she received professional training and was familiar with various quick wound treatment methods. She also carried hemostatic medicine with her. However, she bled a little more while making a road sign, but it did not endanger her life.
When Ye Zhufeng opened the toolbox, he was prepared to get cut, but before he even felt the pain, his hands were already covered in blood.
Qingqing is clever; she controlled the angle perfectly when the blades flew out of the mechanism, making the blood pack very useful.
Upon hearing the words "little strength," Jin Suiqing glared angrily at Ye Zhufeng again, then pried open her wrist, touched the scar, and felt heartbroken. She said, "I'll go to my brother... no, Jin Shiyu to get you some medicine. His ointment is effective and will definitely not leave a scar."
Ye Zhufeng raised an eyebrow: "Using Jin Shiyu?"
“Ah,” Jin Suiqing nodded, “I’ve been his maid lately, so it’s very convenient for me to get these things.”
Ye Zhufeng suddenly felt like his own cabbage had been eaten by another pig, and frowned, saying, "Qingqing, aren't you and Jin Shiyu... getting a little too close?"
Jin Suiqing recalled being pinned against the bookshelf by Jin Shiyu the day before and said in embarrassment and annoyance, "Don't mention him, it makes me angry just thinking about him."
"You brought him up first," Ye Zhufeng said silently, looking away.
Thinking that Jin Suiqing was still clueless, and that those involved were often blinded by their own perspectives while bystanders saw things clearly, she probably had no idea that she had been interfering and repeatedly thwarting Jin Shiyu's illegal plans to "bite the cabbage."
“If you don’t want to mention it, then don’t,” Ye Zhufeng said seriously, gripping Jin Suiqing’s shoulder as he took on the responsibility of protecting the cabbage. “From now on, you must keep a safe distance from him.”
Jin Suiqing thought for a moment and said with a troubled expression, "Jin Shiyu's behavior may be a bit excessive in some aspects, but I don't think he is particularly dangerous for the time being."
Well, Ye Zhufeng closed his eyes in despair.
We're doomed.
My best friend's intelligence is all in scheming; some parts of her brain haven't even developed yet.
It's possible that it's not that she hasn't developed, but that Jin Suiqing is deliberately avoiding it and doesn't want to face it.
Suddenly, Ye Zhufeng realized that Jin Shiyu's life was miserable.
On second thought, he realized he couldn't show any pity for a pig trying to steal his cabbage, so he gave Jin Suiqing a sly smile and said, "Sweetie, I won't interfere. You can control the pace yourself."
What rhythm?
Before she could answer, Ye Zhufeng's eyes suddenly turned cold as he looked coldly at the person behind Jin Suiqing: "Pig... no, Jin Shiyu is here."
Jin Suiqing opened her mouth, but before she could even utter an "ah," her waist tightened, and she was thrown backward, enveloped by the bitter smell of alcohol. Jin Suiqing looked up, and her eyes fell upon Jin Shiyu's high, straight nose. "Jin Shiyu?"
Jin Shiyu lowered his head and met Jin Suiqing's bewildered eyes, and said unhappily, "Aren't you going to call me Brother Shiyu anymore?"
Jin Suiqing blinked. "You actually think that sounds good?"
Jin Shiyu was stunned for a moment. Under the influence of alcohol, he could no longer hold back and shook his head, saying, "It doesn't sound good."
Jin Suiqing grinned, thinking to himself, "She called him that on purpose; it sounds like something out of rustic, rural literature."
At the time, she was in a playful mood, but for fun, she called out for two days in a row. It didn't feel very natural. Instead, it seemed like her face was sunburned and she was going to pick sweet potatoes in the field, which made her call out inexplicably funny.
Taking this opportunity, Jin Suiqing said, "Then from now on, can I just call you Jin Shiyu?"
Outside the railing, a Kui dragon flew low overhead, exploding into a brilliant golden firework. In an instant, the light illuminated Jin Suiqing's face. Jin Suiqing smiled and asked him, her eyes sparkling like fireworks, revealing two sharp little teeth.
Jin Shiyu's breath hitched, and his gaze involuntarily slid down an inch, from Jin Suiqing's bright eyes to her lips.
Her lips were red, perhaps from crying or talking too much. Jin Suiqing's mouth was dry, so she licked it with the tip of her tongue.
Adding a layer of watery sheen makes it look like it's coated in honey.
Jin Shiyu's Adam's apple bobbed as he felt the wine he had drunk at the banquet rushing back to him, and a wave of dizziness washed over him.
He seemed drunk; I really wanted to take a bite.
Seeing that Jin Shiyu's eyes were not right, Huangfu Feng cleared his throat and interrupted, "Jin Shiyu, it's time to go back to the banquet. Don't keep the Empress waiting."
Jin Shiyu nodded in response, but his gaze never left Jin Suiqing. Another firework appeared, and he noticed her eyes were red and slightly swollen. The tender moment vanished instantly, and Jin Shiyu frowned, asking, "Have you been crying?"
“Ah, yes, I’ve been crying,” Jin Suiqing said innocently. “I almost set Yaoguang Palace on fire just now, and His Highness the Crown Prince caught me and scolded me. If it weren’t for the Princess coming to my rescue, he would have taken me to the Empress to interrogate me.”
Ye Zhufeng suppressed a laugh; what a clever tactic to shift the blame.
Jin Shiyu, worried, turned Jin Suiqing over so they were face to face, and carefully examined him from head to toe. "Are you alright?"
Jin Suiqing rolled her eyes, thinking of Ye Zhufeng's scar, and made up a story: "It's burned."
"Where? Let me see!" Jin Shiyu pretended to pull up Jin Suiqing's sleeve to examine her closely, but Jin Suiqing quickly stopped him, "Just a little bit, just a little bit."
She stretched out her ten fingers, which were stained black by the wooden chopsticks. Taking advantage of the darkness, Jin Suiqing said, "It's just a little bit on my fingers. It's really not serious. It probably didn't even break the skin."
Jin Shiyu was about to examine her closely when Jin Suiqing dodged away before she could even touch her. "Don't worry, the banquet isn't over yet. You won't be able to leave for a while. I know where your first-aid kit is. I can apply it myself when I get home."
Jin Shiyu lowered his eyes. Although he was dissatisfied that he could not apply the medicine to her in person, he was also pleased that Jin Suiqing thought of rummaging through his medicine box as soon as she was injured.
The next day, when Jin Shiyu saw Jin Suiqing holding Huangfu Feng's hand in the Jin family garden applying medicine to someone, the medicine bottle she was holding came from his medicine box.
Jin Shiyu knew that he had been deceived by Jin Suiqing again.
