Chapter 75 Even gambling is something they dare not use.

Ye Zhufeng chuckled twice, then kicked the rocking chair harder, making Jin Suiqing unable to lie still. Jin Suiqing then sat up, pointed to the stone bench opposite him, and asked Ye Zhufeng to sit down.

“Time is of the essence, Ye Zi, I’ll get straight to the point,” Jin Suiqing said bluntly, “The system announced the story missions just yesterday.”

Ye Zhufeng was momentarily stunned, realizing that this was Jin Suiqing's last and most dangerous mission as a supporting female character. She cursed the damn system inwardly; Jin Suiqing's missions kept piling up, not giving her a moment's rest.

Jin Suiqing didn't seem to have a headache. She rested her chin on her hand and smiled, "The thought of giving Ye Zi an aphrodisiac is hilarious."

Jin Suiqing beckoned Ye Zhufeng closer to listen to her plan.

After hearing this, Ye Zhufeng knew that Jin Suiqing was possessed by the Lezi person again. Ye Zhufeng sighed and said, "Pay more attention, my little ancestor. You drugged the princess with aphrodisiacs at the banquet and were exposed on the spot. You still want to use a trick to shift the blame to the crown prince. Such a dangerous move, and you can still laugh."

“Why wouldn’t I be able to laugh?” Jin Suiqing said. “The people in the storyline who want to kill me have maxed out their favorability, and my safety net is extremely secure. If I don’t take this opportunity to give my brother the Crown Prince a big surprise, how can I repay the effort he put into me before?”

Jin Suiqing blinked and added, "Although Jin Shiyu's feelings are a bit off, it's not a big problem."

Ye Zhufeng was furious. He pinched her nose and shook her head violently, trying to shake the water out of her head. "What do you mean 'not a big problem'? It's a big problem, Jin Suiqing. You're locked up right now, and your personal freedom is severely restricted. That's illegal in modern times!"

Jin Suiqing laughed and let her pinch her, saying in a shrill voice, "But this isn't modern times." She picked up a large red paper from the table and showed it to Ye Zhufeng. "Jin Shiyu said that as long as I sign the marriage certificate and marry him, he will unlock the chains."

Ye Zhufeng let her nose go, but then he put on a piece of paper and frowned as he examined it carefully.

The handwriting on the invitation was neat and elegant. It left blank the wedding date information and listed the couple's birth dates, birth times, the location of the bridal chamber, the contents and quantity of the gifts.

The signature of Kim Si-ok was already on the label.

Ye Zhufeng didn't believe in judging a person by their handwriting, but look at the three characters 'Jin Shiyu'. Although they are not bad-looking, they are written with unusual pauses and breaks. The sharpness of the strokes is hidden by the rounded ink marks, indicating that he must have hesitated for a long time before putting pen to paper.

This shows the fear and hesitation people feel when signing.

"Tsk tsk, Jin Suiqing," Ye Zhufeng said, holding the wedding invitation. "Will you sign it or not?"

Jin Suiqing decisively said, "Of course we can't sign now. If we sign, we won't be able to leave the capital. I still need to go to Jiangnan Province."

Ye Zhufeng raised an eyebrow, his words hitting the nail on the head, "You can't sign now? So, you still want to sign, right?"

Jin Suiqing's eyes darted around, and she stammered. After being kicked by Ye Zhufeng again, she finally said in a affected tone, "If I don't sign, won't I become a bad woman who deceived my brother's feelings..."

Ye Zhufeng was amused by her antics and slammed the wedding invitation onto the stone table. "Hiding? Just keep hiding, Jin Suiqing. You avoid relationship problems, you'll just keep burying your head in the sand like an ostrich." Jin Suiqing tried to explain further, but Ye Zhufeng raised his hand to stop her. "You two are messing around, I don't want to hear it right now. Let's get to the point. Qingqing, if you don't sign the wedding invitation and are stuck here, how are we going to complete the storyline mission?"

It's no wonder Ye Zhufeng asked; it's just that the last plot point in the book is to take place at the princess's investiture banquet.

The female supporting character obtains "Aphrodisiac Powder" from Huangfu Li and disguises herself as a palace maid to personally administer the drug. While the female lead is disoriented, she leads Huangfu Feng to a side hall where guards are waiting to seduce the female lead into having sex with him.

Jin Suiqing was speechless at the awful plot.

Fortunately, Sister Feng is Sister Feng. The moment she entered the side hall, she sensed that something was wrong. She decisively kicked the guard who had ill intentions away, opened the side hall door, and jumped straight into the pool. She soaked her body in the cold water to stay awake and calmly shouted that the princess had been assassinated.

The eunuch who was waiting to catch them in the act jumped out, only to find not a man and woman in illicit relations, but Huangfu Feng staring at him with hawk-like eyes. Terrified, the eunuch sat down on the ground, trembling. Not daring to offend the Crown Prince, he had no choice but to hand over Jin Suiqing.

Sister Feng proved with her own actions that we shouldn't mythologize aphrodisiacs. Those who say they're weak-willed and easily collapse are simply lacking in willpower and are being manipulated by the author.

Jin Suiqing said indifferently, "Jin Guizhong has just recovered from his illness and cannot attend the banquet. Jin Shiyu will still be needed. When he gets busy, he will be away from Zhanxing Tower for a couple of days. At that time, I will remove the shackles, contact Huangfu Li, and have him lead me into the palace."

Ye Zhufeng: "It's called shackles, how can you just remove them like that?"

"Why not?" Jin Suiqing said smugly. "Ye Zi, don't underestimate me. I'm a renowned magician in the black market. This thing is just a piece of cake for me."

Watching Jin Suiqing shuffle into the house in her slippers, chain jingling, and then run out carrying her toolbox, she sat down in front of Ye Zhufeng with an air of authority. "Ye Zi, watch closely. Today I'm going to demonstrate how to pick a lock with your bare hands."

After saying that, she propped herself up, took out an awl, and was about to open it with her bare hands. The lock structure was not complicated; she could find the flaw by prying it a couple of times at the bend.

Before Jin Suiqing could exert any force, the silver ring clicked open from the keyhole with a crisp sound as she moved.

Jin Suiqing trembled, and the silver ring easily slipped off her ankle, falling to the ground and getting covered in dust.

Ye Zhufeng let out an "Ah" and silently looked away.

She saw nothing.

Jin Suiqing was stunned. Looking at the silver buckle on the ground, she felt a tightness in her chest and a sting in her nose. Soon, her eyes filled with tears, which fell onto the silver ring.

She quietly picked up the silver ring, opened and closed it in her hand, playing with it for a long time. Jin Suiqing sniffed, "Scheming man, didn't you say you wouldn't lie? You're trying to fool me with your serious words. You even said you wouldn't unlock it until we signed the marriage certificate."

“You don’t even dare to use the real thing,” Jin Suiqing said, twirling the silver ring. “Jin Shiyu is a coward.”

*

Jin Shiyu carried the cloth bag wrapped in a small garment and a package of oiled paper pastries back to Zhanxing Tower.

As darkness fell, Jin Shiyu's heart was in his throat as he walked towards the courtyard. Approaching the courtyard, he saw the gate was still locked, and his heart eased somewhat; pushing the gate open and entering the courtyard, his heart eased again; reaching the door of the house and seeing the light on inside, his heart finally settled back down.

Jin Shiyu knocked on the door before pushing it open. Upon closer inspection, the place was a complete mess. Jin Suiqing had made such a mess that there was nowhere left to put her feet. She was barefoot on the floor, lying on the bed drawing.

Jin Suiqing didn't even turn his head, and said in a muffled voice, "I'm back."

Jin Shiyu was somewhat displeased and responded in a low voice, as if he were a wronged husband. He tiptoed, not daring to step on the blueprints on the ground, and carefully put Jin Suiqing's clothes back into the wardrobe before daring to turn around and examine Jin Suiqing closely.

She was afraid of the heat, so she wore a tank top and shorts, revealing a section of her fair skin at the waist. She knelt on the ground with her legs crossed, silver rings hanging from her ankles, holding silver chains that pressed down on her pink soles as she stretched out under the bed.

Jin Shiyu, her mouth dry, silently stepped forward, picked up Jin Suiqing, and, ignoring her screams, put her back on the bed. "It's very hot, and don't walk barefoot on the ground. You've only just recovered from your illness, and coldness starts from the feet. Be careful of menstrual cramps."

“There’s no carpet in the room, so I’m just walking on the floor, not directly on the ground,” Jin Suiqing squinted at him and retorted. “Besides, I just like running barefoot; it’s unrestrained and comfortable.”

The emphasis was on the word 'restraint' in the sentence, and Jin Shiyu's ears burned and his face turned cold. He realized that Jin Suiqing was cursing him.

When Jin Shiyu didn't hear her, he knelt on the ground, put her shoes on, and then turned around to tidy up the house.

Seeing him pretending to be stupid, Jin Suiqing muttered a few words to herself, then pretended he didn't exist. She hopped to the table, opened the pastries and ate them heartily. As she listened to Jin Shiyu tidying up, the sound gradually subsided, and she had eaten more than half of the pastries in the bag.

Jin Shiyu, carrying a stack of waste paper, passed by the table. Seeing that Jin Suiqing had eaten quite a few snacks, he frowned and said, "Eating so much in one go, are you not going to eat dinner tonight? What if you get indigestion?"

Jin Suiqing was getting annoyed, so she casually picked up a book from the table, pretended to read it carefully, and blocked his view.

Jin Shiyu sighed, temporarily holding the scrap paper, and used one hand to bring her a lamp, saying, "Don't cover your face when you look at it. Put it on the table and look at it. It's pitch black, be careful not to damage your eyes."

"I know, I know," Jin Suiqing pursed her lips and said impatiently, "You're so annoying."

Jin Shiyu remembered her saying he was too controlling and didn't like it, so he shut his mouth, silently put the lamp away, and left with the scrap paper and tools. After he settled her things in the study and returned to the room, Jin Suiqing had moved to another spot, lying on her back on the bed reading.

He could hold back his words, but he couldn't resist taking action. He reached out to take Jin Suiqing's book, but Jin Suiqing on the other side of the book said, "You dare to take it?" Jin Shiyu then withdrew his hand.

Jin Suiqing didn't pay any attention to the contents of the book. She kept listening to Jin Shiyu's movements, thinking that if he tugged at the book again, she would hand it over.

Unexpectedly, Jin Shiyu spoke up, her voice tinged with pleading, "Suiqing, there's no light here, lying down will only hurt your eyes..."

Jin Suiqing pulled down the book and glared at Jin Shiyu: "Coward."

After saying that, she got up abruptly, wiped her arm, and sat back down at the table. She couldn't concentrate on the book at all, so she threw it on the table, propped her chin up, and sulked. Her legs under the table kept shaking, making the chains rattle incessantly.

Watching her retreating figure and hearing the clanking of chains, Jin Shiyu's heart pounded wildly.

He's gambling.

Jin Suiqing told too many lies, and he couldn't tell the truth from the falsehood. He didn't dare to question her about them one by one, so he could only do what she did and use a lie to try and win her heart.

The silver ring had no lock at all.

If one day Jin Suiqing finds out and discovers the truth, will she kick Yin Huan away and leave him, or will she wait for him to come back and find out everything?

He didn't know that Jin Shiyu couldn't figure out or understand her heart.

He couldn't do it when he was her brother, and he certainly can't do it now.

Jin Shiyu lowered her eyes, countless morbid emotions flashing in them, but she suppressed them all in her heart. Thinking of Jin Suiqing saying that he always treated her with a cold face, Jin Shiyu curled her lips into what she thought was a flattering smile, went to Jin Suiqing's side, and tentatively asked, "Suiqing, where is the wedding invitation?"

Jin Suiqing didn't care at all. He blew a stray hair off his forehead and said, "It's annoying to look at. I'll burn it."

Instantly, it was as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over Jin Shiyu's head and down to his feet, as if he had fallen into an ice cave, so cold that his heart stopped.

Jin Suiqing kept a close eye on his expression and saw a flash of cold, sinister light in his eyes. She thought he was finally about to lose his temper and go crazy, but Jin Shiyu just blinked. The shadow of his long eyelashes covered his pupils, and when he looked up again, he had a stiff and ingratiating smile on his face.

Jin Shiyu said, "Okay, I'll write it again tomorrow."

Jin Suiqing coldly replied, "What if I still don't sign tomorrow?"

Jin Shiyu carefully approached Jin Suiqing and pressed a kiss to her forehead with restraint. "Then I will write it the day after tomorrow, and the day after that, day after day, until you sign it."

Jin Suiqing did not avoid his kiss. She closed her eyes, hummed, and said, "Then you write it."
