Chapter 16 Dish Names

Seeing the bright golden color of the corn soup, and its crystal-clear broth, like fine jade, Yao Niang was extremely pleased. A thought struck her, and she asked, "Does this sweet soup have a name?"

Qiao Niang smiled wryly: "Now, it's called corn sweet soup."

That means it doesn't have a new name yet.

“I have an idea,” Yao Niang said with a sweet smile. “How about calling it ‘Golden Wind and Jade Dew’?”

Gu Xingzhi's eyes lit up. He closed the folding fan in his hand and gently tapped it with his other hand.

"Golden wind and jade dew... Golden wind and jade dew..."

"Great! Great name!"

The cheers coming from the other side of the screen startled Gu Yaoniang and her companions. Footsteps sounded as someone approached Gu Yaoniang's private room.

Gu Yaoniang had assumed that the private room on the third floor of Jinyulou was a separate room, and that the screen was merely for the convenience of guests during their banquets. Gu Yaoniang stood up with Gu Xingzhi, but the other person also behaved politely and stopped in front of the screen.

Gu Xingzhi gestured for Bitao to step forward and push open the two screens on the side. They then saw three people opposite them, dressed in fine clothes, clearly two young men and a beautiful young woman.

All three possessed striking good looks and noble bearing, clearly indicating their distinguished origins. One of the boys had a healthy tan and was taller and stronger than the other.

He spoke first, clasping his hands in a respectful greeting to Gu Xingzhi: "Boss Gu!"

He nodded again to Qiaoniang: "Second Master."

Judging from the voice, it must be the person who cheered earlier.
