Chapter 29: Patching Up

Chapter 29: Patching Up

Yin Jiu himself didn't know when he recovered from his cold.

In fact, apart from having a fever that night, he didn't seem to have any other cold symptoms, so it's hard to tell whether he really caught a cold or it was due to psychological factors. After all, Ning Changyue, whose health was not as good as his, didn't show any signs of a cold.

Because of the New Year's Day holiday, there is no holiday this weekend, and the exam is in a dozen days, so Yin Jiu will have no rest time from now on until the holiday.

In order to review, he became visibly busy, and after returning home, he spent less time with Ning Changyue.

Although Ning Changyue was clingy to him, she was also obedient and would not disturb him from reviewing.

He just stayed in the rocking chair and occasionally went to the living room to watch TV.

As soon as Yin Jiu finished, he immediately leaned over to ask for a kiss. He really liked being intimate with Yin Jiu, as if the kisses were never enough.

Especially now that he has learned to kiss actively, he always takes the initiative to kiss Yin Jiu before going to bed.

At this age with vigorous blood, it is easy for him to get angry. It won't happen every day, but as long as he is aroused, Yin Jiu will make him feel comfortable. As for Yin Jiu himself, he is very restrained.

But Ning Changyue was not very satisfied. Yin Jiu did make him feel comfortable, but during the two days of New Year's Day, he had experienced even better comfort and was no longer satisfied with that.

He kept rubbing his head and refusing to fall asleep, looking so pitiful and adorable.

Yin Jiuan comforted him, saying that he was a little tired from studying recently and would compensate him after the exams were over. ◢

Ning Changyue didn't say anything, but she just wouldn't sleep well. She turned her back to him, ignored him, and refused to let him hug her. It was a rare occasion that she got angry.

In the end, Yin Jiu couldn't bear it and did as he wished.

After it was over, Yin Jiu hugged him, feeling sad and heartbroken, and asked himself silently: Ning Changyue, tell me, how can I bear to let you go?

What you can't let go of, you can never let go of.

How could he bear to let go of Ning Changyue, and how could he bear to hand him over to another person.

So even if it is wrong, it is wrong to the end.

Never let him find out that he is not the one he wants.

This idea is a bit despicable, but Yin Jiu really doesn't want to lose him.

He finally had someone who belonged to him.

Even if it was stolen.

Ning Changyue hugged Yin Jiu back. Today he was in charge. Although he was tired, he was satisfied. He hugged Yin Jiu's waist tightly, still wanting more.

But his hand fumbled around Yin Jiu's waist for a while, and felt the slightly protruding ribs. He frowned slightly, raised his head and said, "You seem to have lost weight."

She has lost a lot of weight, and my arms feel a little empty when I hug her.

"Really?" Yin Jiu said, "Maybe it's because I haven't exercised enough."

He hasn't been working out much recently, so his muscles aren't as tight.

I don’t know if she believed this excuse, but Ning Changyue didn’t ask any more questions and fell asleep with her head resting on his arms.

In fact, it was not an illusion, Yin Jiu really lost weight.

He was losing weight day by day, and losing weight very quickly.

The already deep facial features became even more distinct, the facial lines became sharper, and when he wasn't smiling, his expression looked somewhat gloomy.

Because they saw each other every day, Ning Changyue could hardly tell the difference, but people who were not familiar with him could tell at a glance that he was gradually losing his vitality.

One day, he met his roommates at school. They looked like they wanted to talk but were hesitant. They took him out to have lunch and, in between words, they were all trying to persuade him to let things go and not torture himself even after a breakup.

Yin Jiu laughed and said, "I'm not heartbroken, I just haven't had a good appetite lately and I've lost some weight."

The roommate was relieved, because he was worried that he had been heartbroken and couldn't get over it, because he looked quite gloomy.

After dinner, the group separated.

Yin Jiu held his stomach, feeling a little uncomfortable because he had been persuaded to eat a lot.

He was not lying. He just had a poor appetite recently. Everything he ate tasted bland and he had trouble swallowing.

He knew this wasn't the right way to do it, but he had no choice; he really couldn't eat any more.

The system flew silently behind him, adjusting its own light to the lowest level. Lately, it didn't dare to speak, fearing that it would say something wrong again.

It looks at the panel every day and sees with its own eyes the changes in Yin Jiu's emotions. In fact, Yin Jiu's feelings for Ning Changyue have not only not diminished, but have increased a little bit.

But those cracks did not heal. Instead, they grew wildly like seaweed, shattering the whole heart.

But even if it breaks into thousands or tens of thousands of pieces, the love will not diminish.

Because the heart is broken, but love is mending it.

After the exam, Yin Jiu took Ning Changyue to travel to the Southern Resort Island. The temperature there was warmer and suitable for winter, so Yin Jiu planned to take Ning Changyue back to South City two days before New Year's Eve.

After taking off his heavy winter clothes, Yin Jiu's thinness became even more obvious. The shirt that should have been slim-fitting actually looked empty on him. Even Ning Changyue, who was slow and dull, noticed the abnormality.

In the evening, the two had dinner at a seafood restaurant. Yin Jiu spent the whole time peeling shrimps for Ning Changyue and didn't eat much himself.

Ning Changyue looked at him while eating, and after a while, he blocked Yin Jiu's hand from feeding him.

Yin Jiu asked: "What's wrong? Don't you want to eat?"

Ning Changyue shook her head and said, "You eat it."

Not refusing his kindness, Yin Jiu ate it as he said.

But Ning Changyue thought more. He put on gloves and helped Yin Jiu peel the shrimps in a clumsy manner.

He had never done such a thing before, and was pricked by the shrimp heads many times. His fingers were sore and itchy, but he didn't take it seriously and put the shredded shrimp into Yin Jiu's bowl.

Yin Jiu glanced at him with a smile, picked it up and ate it.

Afterwards, Ning Changyue became obsessed with feeding Yin Jiu. He learned to peel the seafood and put them into Yin Jiu's bowl one by one, just like Yin Jiu fed him.

Yin Jiu never refused anything, and ate it with a smile as long as it was given by him.

After eating, Yin Jiu asked him to sit for a while while he went to pay the bill.

He was gone for a long time, and when he came back, his hair was a little wet and there was a hint of red at the corners of his eyes.

After leaving the hotel, the two strolled around the night market before taking a taxi back to the hotel.

It was just a coincidence that he just passed by and the elevator happened to come down. Yin Jiu swiped the room card and pressed the floor button.

There were only two of them in the elevator.

The lights in this hotel are very bright. The elevator is as bright as day, and the light is even a little dazzling.

Ning Changyue looked sideways and saw that the coastal resort island had long summers and no winter, so Yin Jiu was only wearing a pure white long-sleeved shirt without any decorations today. It was his usual style, simple and clean.

The two met again, also in an elevator.

That day was just like today, Ning Changyue stood behind him, staring at his profile.

The lines on his face were deep and hard, and he exuded a strong sense of alienation. There was a smile at the corner of his lips, revealing a cynical and lazy feeling.

Ning Changyue stared at him, hoping that he would turn around.

But he didn't, he never turned back, and didn't even look at him.

"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like this?" Yin Jiu glanced sideways and met Ning Changyue's eyes.

Ning Changyue just shook her head, bit her lip, and said nothing.

The elevator arrived, and Yin Jiu led him out of the elevator. As they walked along the long corridor, Yin Jiu suddenly recalled their first meeting, and couldn't help saying, "Come to think of it, the first time we met was also in the elevator. I think you even hooked the corner of my clothes at that time. Am I remembering correctly?"

"Why did you do that?"

After asking this question, Yin Jiu immediately regretted it, because he had realized that no matter what the reason was, that was not what he wanted to hear, this damn curiosity!

But Ning Changyue did not answer this question. After Yin Jiu asked this question, tears welled up in his eyes and dripped down his cheeks one by one.

Yin Jiu looked back and saw it. He was panicked for a moment, then said helplessly: "No, why are you crying?"

Resisting the urge to hold the person in his arms and comfort him, Yin Jiu swiped the room card and brought the person into the room. He then held the person in his arms and asked softly, "Does this problem make you so sad?"

Ning Changyue still didn't say anything. He buried his face in Yin Jiu's neck, tears flowing.

The gushing tears flowed down the skin on his neck to his heart, as if burning his heart. Yin Jiu raised his head and blinked quickly several times to drive away the moisture in his eyes.

He opened his mouth, wanting to comfort him, but his throat was blocked and he couldn't utter a word. The person in his arms began to sob.

It sounds very sad, but Yin Jiu feels that he should be the one who is sad at this moment.

You are clearly in my arms, but who are you crying for?

Unable to restrain himself any longer, Yin Jiu raised his hands to cover his flushed eyes.
