Chapter 7 Life is still long

Chapter 7 Life is still long

After leaving the dormitory building, the two walked towards the parking lot.

As autumn arrives, a cool breeze blows through the campus.

The people coming and going around me are all energetic college students, some are laughing and playing, some are whispering intimately, all of them are full of the breath of youth.

Influenced by the scene, Yin Jiu asked hesitantly, "Have you ever thought about continuing to go to school?"

He knew that Ning Changyue did not continue his studies, which was not difficult to guess, but if Ning Changyue was willing, Yin Jiu thought he could try to repeat his studies.

But Ning Changyue didn't even think about it and immediately gave a choice: "I don't want to go to school."

Yin Jiu said: "Then what are you good at or what are your hobbies?"

This question seemed to stump Ning Changyue, and he was unable to answer for a moment.

"Do you like painting? ...How about playing games? ...Do you like singing?"

Yin Jiu asked one by one, and got negative answers every time.

Ning Changyue also figured it out a little bit, and asked him back: "Do you have to like something? Do you... dislike me?"

"That's not what I meant." Yin Jiu said to him from the perspective of an elder: "I just think that you are still so young and life is so long, you have to find something interesting to pass the time, otherwise life will become very difficult. Of course, you can think about this problem slowly."

"Some people never find the answer in their entire lives, and then live in emptiness. I hope your future can be happier, so you can try it, look for it, and see what you like."

"Don't be afraid of failure, Ning Changyue, try to rely on me, I will catch you."

Yin Jiu felt that his father's taste was quite strong at the moment. This was the responsibility of the parents, but Ning Changyue had no parents, so he naturally had to consider him more.

He didn't mean to think anything bad about Ning Changyue. Choosing Ning Changyue meant that he would accept both the good and the bad of her.

If Ning Changyue can't do anything and doesn't want to do anything, even if he just stays at home like a little pet every day, Yin Jiu can accept it. He can support him, and this will even greatly satisfy his possessiveness.

But humans are emotional animals, and life without hobbies will quickly wither.

While Ning Changyue is still young, he can still make choices and try and fail.

Instead of living for ten or twenty years and suddenly feeling that life is boring and without any fun, love can replace many things, but it cannot fill the emptiness of the soul.

You have to stuff something in there so it doesn't collapse suddenly.

Ning Changyue looked at Yin Jiu. Actually, he still didn't quite understand, but he seemed to understand.

Just like the waits in the past, with the sun rising and setting, with no end in sight, no hope in sight, only fatigue left.

In fact, after saying those words to Ning Changyue, Yin Jiu felt a little regretful.

It's not that I think I shouldn't say that, but I just feel that it's too early and there's a sense of inadequacy between the two of us. After all, we've only been living together for a few days and are still in the adjustment period.

If Ning Changyue doesn't think carefully about these words, which sound a bit preachy, and develops a rebellious mentality, it will probably affect their relationship.

So after bringing it up that day, Yin Jiu didn't dare say anything more and planned to take a long-term view.

Fortunately, Ning Changyue didn't seem to think too much about it. She was still the same. When she was at home, she was very quiet most of the time, but as soon as she saw Yin Jiu was free, she would stick to him.

Yin Jiu also got used to sleeping until midnight every day. Ning Changyue would come and climb into bed. He would no longer wake her up, but would reflexively pull her into his arms and pat her gently to coax her to sleep.

After a few days of adapting to each other, the house had a lot more things and began to have a breath of life.

The empty fish tank was now home to a number of colorful ornamental fish. Yin Jiu still remembered that when Ning Changyue came for the first time, she looked a little disappointed at the empty fish tank, so Yin Jiu ordered some ornamental fish as early as the weekend and had them delivered on Tuesday.

After getting the fish, Ning Changyue would feel like she was controlled every time she passed by the fish tank. She would stop and look for a while, and her mind would turn to where the fish swam.

There were several plush toys on the sofa and bed at home. After observation, Yin Jiu also found that Ning Changyue did not like sleeping on the sofa, he just liked the furry cushion on the sofa. He liked everything with fur.

Of all the stuffed toys, his favorite is a white round doll with big eyes. He would sit on the floor in front of the window, or on the sofa or bed, pushing the round doll around, never getting tired of it.

Yin Jiu, who never ate snacks, also started buying snacks. The refrigerator, snack cabinet, and coffee table in the living room were all filled with snacks, mostly some dried meat, dried jam biscuits, and sour fruit juice.

Ning Changyue doesn't like sweet or spicy food and prefers sour food. Her favorite snacks are boneless fish fillets and dehydrated shrimp.

However, the little habits in life made Yin Jiu laugh and cry. There was a water cup belonging to him at home, but Ning Changyue only drank the water in Yin Jiu's cup. He also only wore Yin Jiu's slippers. Even if Yin Jiu specially changed into new ones, they would be worn away quickly as long as they left his feet.

If the shoes he was wearing for going out were not really ill-fitting, he probably would have been able to wear them. Yin Jiu had said this several times but it was of no use. At least in Yin Jiu's opinion, he would not be willing to wear other people's shoes. Hygiene was a big factor. But Ning Changyue always agreed and then turned a deaf ear to him.

The same goes for clothes. His clothes had clearly been brought over, and Yin Jiu also bought him new clothes later, but Ning Changyue just refused to wear them. He wore Yin Jiu's clothes every day.

Excluding those that really don't fit, basically all the clothes that Yin Jiu wears today will definitely be worn by Ning Changyue on the third day after being washed.

It seemed like he was deliberately doing mischief, but Yin Jiu didn't hate it. Instead, he felt that he was fishing for him. After all, he had been quite good at fishing from the beginning.

One day, after the two of them had taken a bath, they were watching a variety show in the living room. Yin Jiu hugged Ning Changyue and deliberately asked him, "Are my clothes so comfortable to wear?"

Ning Changyue blinked at him innocently.

"Could it be that you like the smell of me?" Yin Jiu said this with a hint of flirting in his voice.

As if her thoughts had been revealed, Ning Changyue pulled up her collar, covering half of her face, leaving only a pair of eyes exposed, and peered at his expression guiltily.

Yin Jiu looked at him, not knowing what his expression was at the moment, but he could feel that for a few seconds, the blue veins on his neck throbbed violently a few times following his heartbeat.

In the end, Yin Jiu just pinched Ning Changyue's chin, pushed his face towards the TV, and said in a hoarse voice: "Concentrate on watching TV."

A variety show was being broadcast on TV, and the stars were in all kinds of situations, creating one joke after another.

After being let off, Ning Changyue concentrated on watching TV. He didn't like watching TV dramas, but he liked watching comedy variety shows like this where someone was wronged.

Yin Jiu's mind was not on this, he just felt that if it wasn't too early, Ning Changyue would dare to be so wild, and if she didn't make him cry tonight, she would not be a man.

Yin Jiu, who had always been confident in his self-control, began to lose confidence.

Ning Changyue is not the type who would stay at home all the time. In fact, he is a little restless.

Every day when Yin Jiu goes out, he will probably go out soon after.

Yin Jiu did not investigate too much, but from the location, he could tell his approximate route. Sometimes he would stay in one place for a long time, and sometimes it might be just half an hour, but he would cross most of the city.

It's like a cat that sneaks out to explore when its owner is not at home.

But whenever it was time for Yin Jiu to finish class, he would definitely appear nearby.

Staring silently, as if waiting for something.

Until Yin Jiu walked towards him, held out his hand to him, and said softly: "Let's go home."

Then he would narrow his eyes slightly, as if he was secretly happy about it.

How come it's so cute?

Sometimes, Yin Jiu would feel that he was actually raising a cat. As long as he kept the cat well-fed, had a place to sleep, and occasionally accompanied him, he would be satisfied.

Yin Jiu also felt that this idea was absurd.

But... at certain moments, I still feel this sense of immersion.

But Yin Jiu was unwilling to think too deeply, nor did he dare to think too much.
