The great demon that Lou Ji was about to deal with was a snake demon.
With a human head and a snake tail, her eyes were cold, vertical pupils, a rare, poisonous violet color. Her gaze was icy and devoid of warmth. Her pale skin was covered with a viscous, eerie green liquid, and her thick, dark purple snake tail was covered in scars.
Yuan Jiang stood in the crowd, watching the snake demon bound to a pillar covered with talismans in the Demon-Catching Hall. Her heart sank, and she asked in a hoarse voice, "What did this demon do wrong?"
"The existence of demons is inherently wrong." Lou Ji spoke slowly, noticing that his little fox's expression was a bit off. He pressed his tongue against his back teeth and explained slowly in a soothing tone, "This snake demon is wicked and does all sorts of evil. She cultivates her chain technique by eating human hearts. There are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people who have died at her hands."
Yuan Jiang felt a chill run down her spine. The lifespan and power of demons are different from those of humans, but if a demon wants to cultivate into an immortal, it must not commit murder. Some demons even choose to increase their demonic power by eating humans.
In the minds of most demons, humans are as lowly as ants, their lives are worthless, and therefore they feel no discomfort in torturing and killing them.
The snake demon on the stage was tortured to the point of near death, her demonic power was destroyed, and she was even weaker than a human. A Xuan-level high-ranking demon hunter, holding a long sword, expressionlessly cut the snake demon into three pieces!
Head, body, and tail.
Blood splattered on the table.
Yuan Jiang's face suddenly turned deathly pale. The image of the snake's tail still writhing in the pool of blood was reflected in her fox eyes. A wave of nausea washed over her, and her stomach felt like it was being pulled apart, with vomiting constantly coming out!
She subconsciously raised her hand and tightly gripped the clothes on her chest, gripping them tighter and tighter until she felt her breathing become difficult!
"Jiang Jiang, what's wrong?" Lou Ji had been watching Yuan Jiang closely. Noticing that something was wrong with her, he frowned and reached out to support her slender shoulder.
Yuan Jiang's eyes reddened as she forcefully suppressed the intense nausea in her stomach. Her eyes involuntarily welled up with tears as she looked up at Lou Ji, her voice hoarse: "You brought me to see this..."
Lou Ji frowned more and more deeply.
Yuan Jiang suddenly laughed, her crimson lips curving into a smile, and she said softly, "It's quite exciting, my lord. From now on, when you slay demons, you can bring me to watch, okay?"
Lou Ji moved his crimson lips, lowered his eyelashes, and gazed at her quietly, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
He admitted that he brought her here in the hope of warning her.
After all, he was a demon hunter, and she was a demon. Their identities had been opposites since birth, especially since she had been somewhat cold towards him lately.
But he never intended to hurt her, as long as she behaved....
Lou Ji's silence chilled Yuan Jiang even more. Her eyes turned cold, and the smile on her lips widened. She leaned against Lou Ji's chest with a smile, but there was no hint of a smile in her eyes: "Alright, I was just joking."
“My lord, Jiang Jiang is not feeling well. Let’s take Jiang Jiang home.”
"Okay." Lou Ji replied in a hoarse voice, looking at the frail and charming Yuan Jiang in his arms. He lifted her up in a princess carry, his obsession in his dark pupils growing stronger, like a thick black fog covering his eyes.
Yuan Jiang closed her eyes, her fingers curling slightly.
The gap between the two widened.
That night, Lou Ji unbuckled her belt and kissed her on the neck.
Yuan Jiang turned her face away, her eyes still closed, her voice revealing a faint weariness and weakness: "I don't want to."
Ever since she saw the scene of the snake demon's gruesome death, she had been feeling unwell, constantly nauseous and uncomfortable, especially the image of the snake's tail writhing in the pool of blood, which made her feel dizzy and lightheaded.
