Three days later.
Yuan Jiang had been scolded by Yuan Xiuyan and Liu Yun for three whole days. She was dissatisfied and angry about her behavior of leaving Si Yan at home to treat his illness and even planning to marry him.
"Jiang Jiang, you haven't even graduated from university yet, and you haven't even had a proper chance to have fun. How come you're already thinking about getting married?" Liu Yun was completely baffled. She thought about how her daughter had only been back in City A for half a year. When did she meet a man, start dating, and get so close that she wanted to get married? She had never seen her daughter go out on dates before.
"Dating and marriage are not the same thing. You can't be impulsive. Besides, the hostess's parents haven't even come to propose yet!"
"Jiang Jiang, no, I don't agree to your marriage!"
Yuan Xiuyan's face was ashen. He suppressed his anger, took a sip of tea, and muttered, "Jiang Jiang, that Si Yan kid doesn't look like a decent person at all. Are you sure you know him?"
"In my opinion, he is impulsive, extreme, and biased, and is not someone you can entrust your life to!"
“Especially the matter of kidnapping you, I just can’t get over that. How could you be so determined to marry him?”
Yuan Jiang lowered her eyelashes, looked at the small cake in front of her, mumbled something in her cheeks, and suddenly felt a soreness in her cheeks. She endured the discomfort and let her mind wander.
Has the master of ceremonies woken up?
Will she throw a tantrum again if I don't check on her when I wake up?
Yuan Xiuyan and Liu Yun scolded and persuaded her, but suddenly they found that Yuan Jiang was hanging her head and not moving.
"Yuan Jiang, are you even listening?"
"I...I'm listening!" Yuan Jiang suddenly snapped out of her daze, blinked her beautiful fox-like eyes at Yuan Xiuyan's angry glare, and smiled slightly: "Mom and Dad, are you tired of talking?"
What are we having for lunch?
"Eat, eat, eat!" Yuan Xiuyan snorted coldly, glared at Yuan Jiang, and a surge of anger rose in his throat: "What do you want to eat?"
"Let's eat something light. Si Yan is injured and can't eat spicy or stimulating food."
Upon hearing Yuan Jiang immediately bring up the topic of Si Yan, Yuan Xiu Yan was furious: "What?! He's been eating and staying at our Yuan family's house for free, and now he expects our whole family to eat according to his tastes?!"
"Wang Ma!"
"Oh, I'm here!" Wang Ma hurriedly came out of the kitchen, wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, and said respectfully, "Sir, what's wrong?"
Yuan Xiuyan squinted at Yuan Jiang and snorted coldly, "We'll have a seafood feast for lunch, and make it all spicy and numbing stir-fried!"
"Not a single bland dish is allowed."
"Ah... okay!" Wang Ma glanced at Yuan Jiang hesitantly, and seeing that Yuan Jiang didn't say anything, she took over and went back to the kitchen.
Yuan Xiuyan looked like a victorious rooster, raising his head triumphantly: "Jiang Jiang, you have to listen to what your father says. Men understand men."
"Men are all the same. You're still young. There are plenty of men who are better looking and more outstanding than Si Yan. Take your time choosing. Don't rush into marriage."
"I oppose this marriage, and you are not allowed to mention it again."
Liu Yun also said with a serious expression, "I also object."
Yuan Jiang shrugged her slender shoulders, remained silent, and sullenly played with the small cake in front of her with her eyelashes lowered.
Just then, a sweet, childlike "meow" sounded from behind.
Liu Yun was sitting calmly on the sofa, taking a sip of tea, when she suddenly felt something soft and warm tugging at her trouser leg.
As she curiously looked down, the kitten beside her opened its large emerald eyes and meowed.
"Dog Egg!?" Liu Yun exclaimed in surprise, quickly picking him up with a worried and anxious look in her eyes: "You stinky cat, where did you run off to? I just wanted to take you to get neutered, and if you didn't want to, you didn't want to, so why did you run off like that?"
"Were you bullied outside?" Liu Yun noticed that Gou Dan seemed to have lost some weight, and her eyes reddened with guilt. "You're a country cat, and no one would take you in if you were a stray. Are you starving or cold?"
"At least you have some conscience, you still know to come back to us."
"Meow~" Gou Dan responded obediently, broke free from Liu Yun's arms, and lightly jumped onto the coffee table. He sat upright with his tail curled up, blinking at her.
Liu Yun's heart melted at the sight. Perhaps it was because she loved the cat so much that she felt Gou Dan was more intelligent than other cats, as if he could understand human speech.
Yuan Jiang watched Si Yan's antics and her lips twitched. Was Si Yan trying to get close to her parents by using his kitten form?
