Chapter 19 Different

From childhood to adulthood, Qin Zigui was the kind of child that everyone admired: good grades, mature at a young age, independent, and caring. His only flaw was that he was expressionless and taciturn.

For example, when Sheng Yan was a child, whenever he made a mistake and was caught by adults, he would immediately take advantage of his natural cuteness to act cute and get away with it. Qin Zigui, on the other hand, would just purse his lips, keep a straight face, and remain silent. He would not argue, admit his mistake, or beg for forgiveness or appeasement, which made the adults so bored that they had no temper left.

So when someone like this suddenly looks at you seriously and tells you they're wrong, begging you, and even calls themselves Brother Zigui, who can stand that?

At that moment, Sheng Yan felt as if his heart had suddenly skipped a beat.

It must be because the scene is too bizarre.

Sheng Yan told himself this.

Ultimately, he wouldn't be fooled or softened by Qin Zigui's little tricks; he was a man of principle.

But he is also a grateful person.

Qin Zigui was injured because of him, so he naturally had an obligation to help Qin Zigui recover as soon as possible. However, the Wish App said that all of Qin Zigui's needs had to be met within 24 hours in order for his injury to heal quickly, so he could only reluctantly agree.

This has nothing to do with whether Qin Zigui is bewitching or not.

The main point is that men should be loyal and righteous.

Sheng Yan met Qin Zigui's gaze, looking into those earnest and gentle eyes, and deluded himself into thinking.

He wasn't a deep or complicated person; his eyes were clear, and his thoughts were easily seen through, like a child who couldn't hide his candy.

Qin Zigui looked at his face, which was full of the expression that said, "I'm trying to convince myself that I'm a cool guy, but I'm really just a cute little thing." She couldn't help but turn to the side, prop herself up on her arm and head, and look at him with a slight smile in her eyes. She slowly repeated, "Brother Zigui, please?"

If Qin Zigui's first "Brother Zigui, please" was simply a sincere act of submission and appeasement, then the second "Brother Zigui, please" carries a more ambiguous and languid connotation.

Sheng Yan instantly snapped back to his senses as if he had been slightly burned by an electric current. He looked at Qin Zigui warily and said, "Speak properly to me, and stop acting all coquettish all day long."

Why such a big reaction?

Qin Zigui laughed and said, "Didn't you start acting cute at noon today?"

"..."

grass.

Sheng Yan remembered those two sentences, "Brother, please," and shut his mouth.

"So now I'm begging you twice, and we'll be even, okay? Hmm, Yan Yan?" Qin Zigui seemed to be doing it on purpose, even calling out the nickname he used when they were children with a slow, amused laugh, "Brother Zigui, please?"

Each word was lower and more languid than the last, each word making Sheng Yan's ears itch. Sheng Yan was afraid that if she kept calling him like that, he would be seduce to death by Qin Zigui before he could even forgive her.

Is it really this scary when a tall, icy man tries to act cute?

Sheng Yan felt his scalp tingling: "Alright, stop begging. How disgusting is this grown man?"

"Does 'okay' mean you forgive me?"

Qin Zigui asked the question he already knew the answer to.

Sheng Yan gave a cold snort.

Qin Zigui nodded: "Understood. Then Brother Zigui will ask again..."

Again!

Sheng Yan couldn't take Qin Zigui's pleading any longer, so before he could finish, he quickly interrupted, "I forgive you! I really forgive you! Is that enough? Are you satisfied now?"

Qin Zigui said in a low voice, "But I went too far before."

"Even if you went too far before, haven't you made up for it these past two days? I'm not stupid, do you think I can't tell if you're good to me or not?" Sheng Yan was particularly afraid of saying such sentimental things, so in order to cover up his discomfort, he could only quickly shout in the fiercest tone, pretending not to care, "So can we just let this go? Don't be so wishy-washy, you big man."

"real?"

"I'm going to hit you!"

That's true.

Indeed, no one in the world is more soft-hearted than Sheng Yan.

Qin Zigui chuckled softly, "Okay, thank you, Yanyan."

"Thanks my ass. And don't call me Yan Yan anymore. How old are you?" Sheng Yan was terrible at handling these kinds of situations. His ears turned red as he slapped the test paper down and snapped, "You never study properly all day long. Where do you get all this nonsense from? Have you finished explaining the questions to me? Are you just daydreaming here? I don't understand this one. What's the relationship between this line and that line? Why do you tell me the length of this line but ask me the length of that line? I don't even know them."

Sheng Yan took the pen and used the tip to fiercely poke at the two innocent lines.

Qin Zigui was afraid that Sheng Yan might really get too embarrassed and then turn his back on her, so she stopped laughing a little, sat up straight, held the pen, and made a couple of marks: "If you draw two auxiliary lines like this, they will recognize each other."

"Huh? Eh?"

We actually do know each other.

Sheng Yan found it a bit amazing.

Qin Zigui wrote in his notebook: "Actually, there are also mnemonic devices for auxiliary lines. For triangles, the commonly used ones are: 'If there is an angle bisector in the diagram, you can draw perpendicular lines to both sides. Add the angle bisector and the perpendicular line, and try drawing the three lines together.' There are also mnemonic devices for quadrilaterals and circles. I have written down the mnemonic devices and example diagrams for you. Once you have digested the basics, you will know how to draw complex shapes on your own later."

As Qin Zigui lowered his head to write, the rare sense of relaxed pleasure he had shown earlier gradually faded away, and he returned to his usual aloof and rational academic demeanor.

But she is still gentle.

Her thick, dark eyelashes drooped slightly, almost touching the silver-rimmed glasses perched on her nose. Her fingers holding the pen were beautiful, and she wrote carefully. Her speech was fast and soft, yet patient and meticulous, with her throat bobbing gently up and down with each utterance.

Sheng Yan noticed a mole there.

It's a very small mole, just a little bit next to the most prominent part of the Adam's apple, a spot that can be easily bitten off.

Sheng Yan didn't know why he had such a dangerous idea.

All Qin Zigui knew was that when he turned around, he found that Sheng Xiaoyan, who didn't like studying and was always number one, didn't seem to be listening to what he was saying. Instead, he was staring at his neck as if he were looking at something delicious.

Want to order takeout?

Qin Zigui asked.

"Hmm?" Sheng Yan looked up. "What takeout are you ordering?"

Qin Zigui replied casually, "Didn't you want to eat some duck neck?"

"..."

Who wants to eat duck neck?!

Have you no shame?!

After automatically equating the duck neck with Qin Zigui's neck, Sheng Yan suddenly became furious at the word "gnaw": "Why are you meddling so much instead of explaining the problem properly!"

Qin Zigui had no idea what Sheng Yan was thinking. He assumed that Sheng Yan was distracted because his lecture was too boring, so he patiently asked, "Did you understand what I just said?"

"Nonsense, I'm not stupid, you keep talking."

Sheng Yan answered confidently and righteously.

Qin Zigui didn't say anything more and continued to explain the problem to him using the way of thinking closest to Sheng Yan's. His tone was indifferent but patient and meticulous, and his voice was low and pleasant to hear.

As Sheng Yan listened, he couldn't help but glance at him again.

Even in the simplest, loosest black T-shirt, he still looked great. Sheng Yan suddenly realized that it wasn't unreasonable for Yu Chen to regard Qin Zigui as her male god.

After all, Qin Zigui has the look of a germaphobe and a top student. He's handsome and sophisticated, and when he explains problems, he has a touch of gentleness and sexiness. It's normal for girls to like him.

But even as a grown man, I felt that something was off about everything.

that is……

He's so handsome it's annoying.

Sheng Yan couldn't quite put his finger on the feeling, so he lay on the table, staring at Qin Zigui's chin and Adam's apple, thinking about the problem until he gradually lost his focus.

The desk lamp was lit quietly, and only Qin Zigui's cool and low voice could be heard. No one answered for a long time.

When Qin Zigui realized something was wrong and turned around, he found that a certain creature from a planet that didn't like studying had fallen asleep on the table.

He can play games until dawn, but gets sleepy after three minutes when he touches a math test. Who spoiled him with such lazy, willful, arrogant and incapable-of-hardship habits?

Qin Zigui felt that it was one thing to be good to Sheng Yan, but another thing to spoil him. She was about to wake him up and give him a stern talking-to when she heard Sheng Yan, who was still half asleep, mumble, "Then we're back to normal, okay? We're not angry anymore."

So the harsh words were on the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them back.

After the high school class division, he hadn't seen Sheng Yan sleeping face down much. Unexpectedly, he hadn't changed much; his lips were still slightly parted, giving him an innocent, childlike appearance.

This is because Sheng Yan often couldn't breathe through his nose when he was a child, and he could only open his mouth slightly when he fell asleep, which became a habit.

Back then, his lips were red and moist, his chubby face was fair and tender, and he looked especially cute when he opened his little mouth slightly. So much so that every time Sheng Yan fell asleep, Qin Zigui couldn't help but reach out his little finger to poke him, and he would often poke him for the entire afternoon nap.

So later, the adults always laughed because the dimple on Sheng Yan's right lip was poked out by Qin Zigui himself.

Over the years, Sheng Yan has not changed this habit. However, without realizing it, the baby's milky innocence and chubby cheeks have faded, and that pretty baby has grown into a handsome young man.

His eyebrows were long and slanted, his nose was straight, and his eyes were almond-shaped and round, with the corners of his eyes slightly long and upturned. Even when his eyes were closed, one could still see a certain flamboyant and bright youthful charm that would amaze anyone at first glance.

Qin Zigui suddenly felt reluctant to wake him up.

After all, he had plenty of time to learn, but he had very little time to look at Sheng Yan without reservation or hesitation.

Every day he spent with Sheng Yan like this was one less day he could have.

So he was somewhat greedy.

She simply leaned back in her chair, and in the soft glow of the floor lamp, quietly watched the person beside her for a long, long time. She didn't wake him, but she didn't reach out and touch his two soft, rosy lips like she did when she was a child.

Because he should know how to restrain himself.

So much later, he turned around, picked up his pen again and compared it with Sheng Yan's test paper, carefully noting down all the knowledge points that Sheng Yan didn't know but that he wanted to teach him.

Sheng Yan lay beside him, lost in some beautiful dream, his eyes innocent and carefree.

The summer night stretches endlessly because of two tracks that rely on each other yet are completely different. The cicadas chirp intermittently outside the window, like the tide that rises and falls in the unspoken understanding of young people.
