After the mysterious man disappeared, an unsettling atmosphere filled the air, like an invisible net, tightly strangling Ye Ling's chest.
She took a deep breath and tried to calm her inner turmoil.
What exactly is this mysterious power?
What does it have to do with the man in black?
Countless questions swirled in her mind, like a tangled mess that could not be cut or sorted out.
"I have to go and take a look." Ye Ling's eyes were firm and he made up his mind secretly.
Even if there are mountains of swords and seas of fire ahead, she has to go through it.
She started the mecha and moved cautiously in the direction where the man in black disappeared.
The surrounding trees were twisted, like monsters with bared fangs and claws, emitting eerie whispers.
The night wind howled like ghosts and wolves, making people feel creepy.
The air was filled with a rotten smell mixed with the fragrance of unknown flowers, so sweet that it was nauseating.
Ye Ling held her breath and tried not to feel the strange atmosphere.
She took every step with extreme caution, fearing that she would touch any trap.
"This place is as eerie as a horror movie set. Will a Sadako suddenly show up?" Ye Ling complained in her heart, beads of sweat oozing from her palms as she gripped the joystick.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, the surrounding scenery gradually changed.
The originally lush forest disappeared, replaced by a desolate Gobi desert.
The ground was covered with cracks, as if it had been torn apart by some powerful force.
Suddenly, Ye Ling's mecha began to shake violently and the alarm sounded sharply.
"Warning! Warning! Abnormal energy fluctuations!"
Ye Ling's face changed and she quickly checked the data of the mecha.
The energy indicator was flashing wildly, with the value fluctuating and extremely unstable.
"What's going on? Why are the energy fluctuations in this place so strange?"
She tried to stabilize the mecha's energy output, but it was all in vain.
The mecha's shaking became more and more violent, as if it would fall apart at any moment.
"Damn it! Is this lousy place trying to mess with me?"
Ye Ling gritted her teeth and tried hard to control the mecha to prevent it from falling.
At this moment, she felt a strong suction coming from under her feet, as if it was going to swallow her up.
"Not good!" Ye Ling exclaimed, but before she could react, the mecha lost control and plummeted downwards...
"Duan Yu, I..."
Ye Ling felt like she was on a roller coaster, falling rapidly, and the whistling wind in her ears was like the whisper of the devil.
"Oh my god! Such a big deal?" She complained, quickly adjusting the mecha's posture, the engine roaring, and she managed to stabilize her body before falling to the ground.
This place is weirder than imagined. What meets the eye is a desolate underground world. The dark red rocks emit a faint light, and the air is filled with a strong smell of sulfur, which makes Ye Ling want to wear a mask.
"This smell is amazing! It's even more sour than my three-day-old-unwashed socks!"
Ye Ling drove the mecha forward carefully. The ground was covered with strange runes, like some ancient spells, flashing with faint light.
"Could this be some kind of ancient formation? The kind that's doomed if you step on it?" She muttered to herself. With her knowledge of cultivation and her movement skills comparable to those of a gamer, Ye Ling cleverly avoided those suspicious runes.
"Well, that's easy! Want to trap me? You're still a little naive!" Ye Ling snorted proudly, feeling like she was playing an escape room game, which was exciting and fun.
However, this good mood did not last long.
Suddenly, several black shadows appeared in front of them. They were moving at an astonishing speed and arrived in front of Ye Ling in the blink of an eye.
"What the hell is that?" Ye Ling took a closer look and her scalp suddenly felt numb.
These black shadows turned out to be humanoid puppets, emitting an evil aura and with strange red light flashing in their eyes.
Their movements were stiff but powerful, and the weapons in their hands flashed with cold light, making it obvious that they were not to be trifled with.
"Oh my god! This is too exciting! Is this a real-life version of killing monsters and leveling up?" Although Ye Ling complained, she was highly alert in her heart.
She knew that these puppets were definitely not ordinary things and their power was far beyond her imagination.
The puppets let out hoarse roars and rushed towards Ye Ling, waving their weapons.
Ye Ling drove the mecha to dodge left and right, narrowly avoiding the attack.
"Such speed, such power, this must be cheating!" She gritted her teeth and controlled the mecha to engage in a fierce battle with the puppets.
Laser cannons, energy swords, particle beams...
Ye Ling used the mecha's various weapons to the fullest extent, but found that these attacks caused little damage to the puppet.
