Lies exposed

Lies exposed

After hearing his gentle words, she was still in a daze and just took the flowers he gave her stiffly.

He took her hand and left the arena and walked straight to the garage.

Somehow, she could feel that he had prepared other surprises for her.

He drove her to the river.

A river that runs through the city is the mother river of the people of this city and the best route for touring the city.

But he didn't take her on a boat ride. Instead, he parked the car on the shore like he did on the night of Chinese Valentine's Day.

He invited her to get out of the car, but she didn't respond, so he opened the sunroof and sat in the car with her, waiting for the surprise in three minutes.

With a loud bang, a gorgeous firework bloomed in the sky, followed by the second, the third...

The grand fireworks show attracted passers-by walking along the river to stop and take a look.

She only felt the deafening sound of the cannons and waited anxiously for the end of this farce.

Fireworks are beautiful, but they are only a fleeting beauty, just like the crazy love that drives you crazy.

Life is made up of all kinds of trivial matters such as career, family, and social circle. Love is at best a seasoning.

The last firework disappeared, leaving only wisps of white smoke in the inky sky.

She finally turned back to look at him and took the initiative to speak to him: "I have something..."

Before she finished speaking, he raised his hand to block her mouth, signaling her not to speak: "Answer me first, was the fireworks show good?"

She nodded.

He smiled and narrowed his beautiful peach blossom eyes: "You complained about me last time, saying that these were all flashy and impractical things. After experiencing them yourself, they are actually quite good, right?"

Seeing his excitement, she had no choice but to agree and let the matter go.

If Xie Yu hadn't said that, she might have been very happy. Although fireworks can be seen everywhere, a fireworks show that exists only for you feels a little different.

He wasn't a fool. Ever since she refused to answer his call last night, he had sensed what might have happened. But he still pretended nothing had happened today and took her through this surprise he had prepared for so long. He was also taking a gamble, hoping that she wouldn't be angry at him, and that the surprise he had prepared would make her feel better...

He asked without any confidence: "What did you want to say just now?"

Before she saw him, she was furious, about to explode, so angry that she couldn't sleep all night. When she woke up in the morning, the anger in her chest made her stomach ache. But when she saw him, she found that she still couldn't bring herself to question him.

Would he really cheat on her?

Even if he lied, did he really have no other reasons for lying to him?

A person's words can deceive, but how can a person's eyes deceive? He looked at her with deep affection, how could he deliberately hurt her?

She sighed deeply: "I met Xie Yu yesterday. He asked you to tell me something, but you never told me..."

The smile on his face gradually disappeared: "You met Xie Yu again?"

“Is that the point?”

"You said you wouldn't have any dealings with him anymore."

She was stunned for a moment, and suddenly realized that he was younger than her. He was still a child after all.

She said helplessly, "I did say that, but that meant we wouldn't have any emotional connection. I wouldn't accept any favors from him, nor would I let him get involved in my private life. But we all live in this world, so isn't it normal for us to bump into each other in public?"

He frowned: "But you guys aren't talking about work, it's me, this is a private matter."

She didn't want to continue arguing about such a boring thing as whether she had met Xie Yu or not: "Okay, I chatted with him for a few minutes, so let's just say it's my fault, but what about you lying to me?"

The unhappiness she had suppressed in her chest after losing the game surged back into her heart at this moment, and her tone unconsciously became a little heavier: "You said you liked me, but you lied to me time and time again. Jian Zhaonan, what do you think of me?"

She poured out all the words she had buried deep in her heart for a long time. "Xie Yu is a scumbag, but at least he's openly so. And you, you acted like you were affectionate and coaxed me around, but in the end, didn't you just lie to me? Do you men have deceitful genes in your bones? Or am I born to be deceived by you?"

He looked at her angry expression, subconsciously put the necklace in his hand back into his pocket, and a trace of loss flashed in his eyes.

"I didn't mean to lie to you. He called me the day you had a fever and said he'd suddenly changed his mind. I wanted to tell you, but when I got back to the gym and saw the kids you raised, completely indifferent to your illness, I felt so brokenhearted. What good would it do you to keep such ungrateful kids, no matter how good their grades were?"

She laughed at his anger. "If Dalin hadn't left, I would have won both the men's singles championship and runner-up in this selection tournament, and my name, Liu Jianchun, would have become even more famous. Isn't that a benefit?"

He listened to her confident and determined tone, and slowly raised his eyes to look at her.

"You spend so much time and effort on them. Is it really just the champion of a selection competition that you care about?"

Is her vision so narrow?

He doesn't believe it.

"Sister, you're a good person, but being too soft-hearted can lead to bad results. Do you know why Dalin and the others are so heartless? Because you're too kind, and hurting you doesn't weigh on them at all. If you don't change this, you'll probably only be teaching children in this life. A soft-hearted general can't lead courageous soldiers."

His words hit Liu Jianchun right where he felt hurt.

She was so angry that her eyes were wet and her voice trembled: "So I am such a person in your heart... No wonder you lied to me. In fact, you are just like Xie Yu. You have never treated me as an equal and respected me."

"I didn't," he whispered.

"You're nothing! Are you still trying to fool me?" The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. "I'm soft-hearted, I'm heartless... Jian Zhaonan, I think you're the one with no guts, aren't you? The country has trained you for so many years, and how have you repaid the motherland? You've won some honors, and you just want to sit back and enjoy it. It's been so long since the World Table Tennis Championships, and instead of focusing on treatment and training, you've been going out on TV shows every day. Do you still remember who you are? Do you still remember that you're an athlete?"

He raised his hand and pointed in the direction of the car door: "Get off, it's not far from the hotel you are staying in."

"I'm not getting out of the car. I haven't finished what I'm saying yet. People like you, to put it nicely, are sophisticated egoists, to put it bluntly, ungrateful wolves! You called me heartless, but if you have courage and backbone, you shouldn't be here being so romantic and you should contact a doctor and get treatment!"

His hands trembled uncontrollably, but his voice sounded calm: "I understand."

She understood the principle of stopping when it was enough, so she took a deep breath, opened the car door and left quickly.

Looking at her receding back, his eyes were filled with tears.

Even if ten thousand people cursed him, they would not be able to defeat her one word.

If there was even a slight possibility of getting better, how could he have fallen to this point and started looking for a way out for himself?

His love for the competition field is no less than anyone else's, including Liu Jianchun.

After getting out of the car, Liu Jianchun walked back along the river bank. No matter how fast he walked, he couldn't stop his ears from hearing the conversation between the two people behind him.

They were a pair of close friends, arm in arm, their faces brimming with youth and yearning for love. They were talking animatedly about the fireworks show. One girl asked why there were fireworks when there hadn't been any announcements about the show. Another girl said, "This must be a rich second-generation guy proposing, and we're all just part of the show."

Then the two of them laughed and played around, using curses to wish each other to meet someone with the same love-brained personality...

Liu Jianchun walked away quickly without listening to a few words and never looked back.

Even as she was about to walk back to the hotel, she couldn't calm down. Two incompatible emotions clashed within her. Her rationality told her that with her family's financial situation, finding another husband would be easy, and there was no need to keep falling for men. But as soon as she closed her eyes, her mind was filled with his soulful eyes.

Doesn't she dislike him?

She sat down on a bench in the woods, and when no one was around, she curled up and cried bitterly.

She cried for what Jian Zhaonan said, and also for her own embarrassment.

Suddenly, someone patted her shoulder.

She was so frightened that her whole body was trembling. She looked up in panic and found that the person standing next to her was not Jian Zhaonan, but Xie Yu.

The moment she saw him, she subconsciously shrank back, and when she saw that he had no intention of taking any further action, she did not stand up.

Xie Yu was uncharacteristically serious, his expression was much more serious than usual, and his tone was even gentler: "Are you okay?"

She wiped the tears from her face impatiently and pretended nothing happened: "None of your business."

He sat down at the other end of the bench: "Did you go to question Jian Zhaonan?"

She didn't answer him. This guy asked knowingly, obviously wanting to add insult to injury at this moment. She was still angry at his indulgence, but his behavior of dragging her down was even more frustrating.

Xie Yu said, "Don't cry anymore. He lied to you and slandered me just to prevent you from having any contact with me again. We are all men, the same."

She gritted her teeth and said, "It's different. He didn't cheat."

She thought he would make some excuses for himself, but unexpectedly, he sighed and said, "You're right, he is indeed a little better than me, and..."

He paused, as if hesitating whether to say the following words, until she turned her head to look at him. Looking into her confused eyes, he said: "I find that he really loves you. You will be very happy if you marry him."

happiness?

If Xie Yu had wished her well so sincerely when they broke up, she might have thought that he had a change of heart, but when he said it during her quarrel with Jian Zhaonan, it was really harsh to hear.

Before Xie Yu could finish his words, he saw her getting up and about to leave. He didn't intend to argue with her, but now he had no choice but to reach out and grab her.
