Chapter 2: The Last Days Ruler 2 (1/2)

Yan Jin thought he might be crazy.

He sat in the passenger seat, watching Jiang Jiang and Ruan Fei chatting and laughing through the rearview mirror. The resentment in his heart was like a tide, almost drowning him.

Why, why, why couldn't he and Jiang Jiang be alone together? How could she smile so sweetly at Ruan Fei? She had never smiled at herself...

If only she could see herself...

"Captain, you look terrible. Are you sick?"

A slightly cool little hand covered his forehead, which eased the headache caused by his paranoid thoughts. The girl also had a sunny scent on her, which made him unable to help but smell it a few more times.

"I seem to be a little sick."

He looked into the girl's blue eyes, which were tolerant and gentle, as if they could bear all his negative emotions.

Yan Jin rubbed the girl's palm while his two teammates stood there dumbfounded. "My head hurts."

--

Even after walking two miles from the letter, he couldn't help but rub the goose bumps on his body: "What's wrong with the boss? Is this what a sick person does?"

Since the patient insisted that Jiang Jiang take care of him, they went out to look for supplies.

Ruan Fei felt annoyed when she thought about the captain shamelessly clinging to Jiang Jiang. Didn’t he see how happy Jiang Jiang was when he was chatting with her!

So Leng Mo said: "It should be a fever."

Cong Xin was surprised: "The captain was bitten by a zombie?!"

Ruan Fei: “…” This burning is not that burning.

--

Yan Jin watched Jiang Jiang busying around making medicine and cooking porridge for him, and felt that he was going too far.

He was the one who was in a bad mood, but he wanted Jiang Jiang to worry about him.

Would she feel that she was weak and prone to illness and dislike him?

No, he had to take advantage of his alone time to prove to her that he was a good man.

So when Jiang Jiang was worrying about the pots and pans, Yan Jin snatched the spatula from her hand, put on a pink apron that he had found from somewhere, and said in a bossy tone: "I'm ready. What do you want for lunch? I'll make it."

Jiang Jiang immediately gave him the important space in the kitchen.

She enjoys being loved, not being a babysitter.

Besides, taking the initiative to do housework is the best dowry for a man!

Jiang Jiang had never cooked since he was born. If he had continued to pretend to be dead, the spatula in her hand would have appeared above his head.

Yan Jin is a good cook. Jiang Jiang had been eating fast food and instant noodles for several days. Occasionally, he tasted a steaming hot meal and ate it very attentively.

Halfway through eating, he suddenly remembered something and met Yan Jin's focused gaze. He asked, "Captain, aren't you going to eat?"

Yan Jin was actually hungry, but the satisfaction he felt watching Jiang Jiang eat the food he had cooked himself outweighed the burning sensation in his stomach. After his desire to peek was slightly satisfied, Yan Jin could pretend to be very gentle: "I'm not hungry. I'll eat the rest after you finish your meal."

Since the person involved said so, Jiang Jiang didn't hesitate. Under his scorching gaze, he touched his slightly rounded belly and said embarrassedly: "Sorry, I haven't had such delicious food for a long time. I ate a little too much."

"It's okay." Yan Jin finished her leftover food in a flash. "If you like, I can cook for you every day."

Ruan Fei and Cong Xin, who were returning from searching for supplies, responded: "..." Damn it, who was it that said cooking was a waste of his time and forced them to learn it?

Congxin felt a little uncomfortable when he saw that the captain had only prepared food for two people.

They are obviously the partners who have been through life and death together, why is the captain so partial to them!

He admitted that the team members were very beautiful and had lovely personalities.
