"Big brother! Big brother!"
In a riverside apartment building near the South River, a disheveled, grimy man shook awake another man, dressed similarly, who was sleeping on the floor next to him.
"What's wrong? Is it getting dark?"
The first thing the man said when he woke up was to ask the time.
Unfortunately, that's a shame.
It's just sunset now.
"No, but the herd of flamingos has made a move."
The lean man said to his older brother.
"What's going on!?"
Upon hearing the words "Fiery Horse," the eldest brother immediately got up from the ground.
Before his underling could even speak, he snatched the binoculars from his hand and looked out the window at the location of the fiery horse on the riverbank.
The two are brothers.
The lean man's name was Zhang Yuan, and the elder brother he referred to was Zhang Mo.
Although they share the same surname, Zhang, they are not biological brothers.
They've been friends since childhood.
The two men were originally workers at a sugar factory.
The two happened to be slacking off when the aliens invaded. Startled, they first hid in a warehouse.
Zhang Mo saw someone fight back in the chaos, kill a monster, and then two orbs of light exploded.
The next day, the two of them shot and killed a lone monster.
Zhang Mo only learned about the function of the two orbs after he obtained his profession.
So they did the same thing to Zhang Yuan as well.
With the weapons they found in the warehouse, the two brothers managed to gather a group of survivors from the factory and successfully leave. They then met up with another group of people who were heading to the airport's temporary base.
Their purpose in leaving the airport base this time was to get the Flamingo.
After all, there is still a considerable amount of fuel available.
However, fuel is now a controlled substance at the base, and not everyone can obtain it.
Fortunately, Zhang Yuan chose the Beast Tamer class after changing jobs.
So theoretically, he can control all monsters.
Currently, the base lacks large-scale transportation means in terms of manpower, material resources, and other areas.
Then the two remembered what the person who led them to the airport base had said about a herd of flamingos on the banks of the Nanhe River.
I won't say more.
If the two brothers could bring back even one horse, they could exchange it for a lot of supplies.
Not to mention that if things stabilize, they might even become the "horse-taming men" that various factions within the base would vie to win over.
It's important to know that even though horses aren't magical beasts, they have a wide range of uses.
Whether it's for transportation or as a means of transport, many people will pay for it.
Not to mention using it as a mount for warrior classes.
So the two brothers put their heads together.
Fortune favors the bold.
They left the base and traversed numerous obstacles and dangerous areas to reach the banks of the South River.
They then found a house without any monsters and began their observation.
However, after observing for a few days, they realized that things were not as simple as they had imagined.
These flamingos never act alone.
Furthermore, when faced with danger, they will use fire magic skills to launch a group attack.
However, these flamingos will still sleep at night.
So Zhang Mo decided to wait until night to make his move.
But on the very second day, an accident occurred.
"That...it should be a skeleton, right?"
Looking through the binoculars at the skeleton army fighting the fiery steeds below, Zhang Mo said with some difficulty.
"Um."
Zhang Yuan stood to the side, squinting as he watched the battle unfolding in the distance outside the window.
"Tsk tsk, could it be a new batch of monsters?"
Zhang Mo was puzzled.
"I don't know, but I saw that the skeletons were surrounding a pumpkin carriage when they launched their attack."
Zhang Yuan shook his head.
"South... Pumpkin carriage!?"
Zhang Mo turned his head, slightly opened his mouth, and looked at his brother with disbelief on his face.
"Why don't I see any pumpkin carriages?"
"Hey! It's really gone! Oh wait, brother, look at that office building, there's a really conspicuous iron handle, that's the pumpkin carriage."
When his older brother said he hadn't seen it, Zhang Yuan immediately took the binoculars from his brother's hand.
Then, in a corner of the office building, they found the pumpkin carriage they had just seen.
However, the pumpkin carriage is now hidden in
"Let me see, it really is..."
"Brother, what do we do now? Judging from the posture of those skeletons, we probably can't stop these fiery horses. If we are all wiped out, then this adventure will have been for nothing."
Zhang Yuan asked somewhat anxiously.
After all, the two of them had risked their lives by coming out this time.
If they were all killed, they would be completely helpless.
Initial investment.
In other words, the investment in food, water, and camping equipment would be wasted.
"What else can we do? Let's assess the situation first. If things don't look good, we'll retreat immediately."
"Ah! We have to retreat!"
"Nonsense! It's better than death!"
Zhang Mo rolled his eyes at the other person and cursed.
"That's true... that's true."
Zhang Yuan nodded.
It's better to live a miserable life than to die a good death.
Although we retreated and gained nothing, at least we survived.
With his animal trainer skills, the worst that could happen is that he has to start his business all over again.
It's no big deal.
"You take a nap and rest. I'll keep an eye on things so you'll be in the mood to escape if things go wrong."
