Chapter 106 The Secret of the Ghost Hand

When Lu Zhaoming returned to the post-apocalyptic safe house, his brows were furrowed, looking just like a five-yuan, misshapen gourd or cracked date sold on the street.

"That Red Owl is getting more and more outrageous!" He plopped down on a sofa made from discarded tires, his tone tinged with displeasure.

Su Li was hammering away at a pile of parts when she heard this. She looked up, a hint of doubt on her charming face: "What, even the Grand Judge Lu has things he can't handle? I thought that when you stepped in, all sorts of demons and monsters would have to reveal their true forms!"

"Stop joking around, this matter is a bit tricky." Lu Zhaoming waved his hand, signaling her to stop what she was doing. "Liu Feng has been controlled, and by a very covert method. To completely resolve this, we need to find the mastermind behind it all—Ghost Hand—and get the antidote."

Qinglian listened silently to the side. Ever since Leng Feng's team was wiped out last time, she had completely sided with Lu Zhaoming.

She knew that following this morally ambiguous judge was risky, but at least she could see a glimmer of hope.

“Ghost Hand? Never heard of such a person.” Su Li stroked her chin, lost in thought. “However, to be able to control a battle-hardened mercenary so silently, he must be no pushover.”

Just then, a slightly childish voice rang out: "Brother Lu, I want to go too! I want to save my brother!"

Xiao Hu was standing at the doorway at some point, his eyes resolute, his tone carrying a hint of pleading.

Lu Zhaoming looked at him, feeling somewhat hesitant.

Although Xiao Hu was young, this brotherhood moved him deeply.

"Are you sure? This is no joke. One wrong move and you could lose your life."

Xiao Hu nodded vigorously, his eyes filled with determination: "I'm sure! My brother became like this to protect me, and I can't just stand by and watch him be used by Chi Xiao! I swear on my life, my brother is innocent!"

Lu Zhaoming was silent for a moment, then finally nodded: "Okay, I agree. But you must obey my orders absolutely, otherwise, I would rather tie you up."

"No problem! Brother Lu, I promise I'll listen to you!" Xiao Hu jumped up excitedly, as if he could already see the hope of saving his brother.

"Su Li, prepare a set of equipment for him. Qing Lian, you're in charge of planning the route, making sure everything goes perfectly." Lu Zhaoming began to assign tasks methodically. "This time, we need to catch them completely off guard!"

Based on the clues provided by Lao Ma, Lu Zhaoming disguised himself as a down-on-his-luck wandering businessman, pushing a dilapidated handcart, and slowly approached an underground clinic in the Red Owl controlled area.

The clinic is located deep in an abandoned mine, with a hidden entrance and surrounded by numerous sentry posts, making it heavily guarded.

Lu Zhaoming lowered the brim of his hat, carefully avoiding the patrolling mercenaries, and slowly approached the clinic entrance.

"Stop! What are you doing?" A burly mercenary with a fierce look in his eyes blocked his way.

"Brother, don't be nervous. I'm just a small-time merchant who goes from street to street. I'm just trying my luck here to see if anyone needs anything." Lu Zhaoming put on a fawning smile, took out a crumpled cigarette from his pocket, and handed it over.

The mercenary took the cigarette, looked him up and down, and seeing that he was dressed in rags and didn't seem like a suspicious person, he waved his hand impatiently: "Go inside, don't wander around, or I won't be able to save you if you cause trouble."

Lu Zhaoming hurriedly nodded and bowed to express his gratitude, then pushed the trolley into the clinic.

The clinic was dark and damp, with a pungent smell of disinfectant and a faint smell of blood in the air, making people feel uncomfortable.

On both sides of the corridor were rows of enclosed rooms, from which suppressed groans and painful screams could be heard from time to time, sending chills down one's spine.

Lu Zhaoming suppressed his discomfort and continued walking forward.

In a room, he saw Ghost Hand holding a syringe, injecting a blue liquid into several test subjects.

The test subjects were initially struggling, but after being injected with the blue liquid, they quickly became listless and mechanical, like puppets that had lost their souls.

Lu Zhaoming felt a chill run down his spine, realizing that the blue liquid was the key technology that Chi Xiao used to control people.

He quietly took out his miniature camera and quickly filmed the process of the ghost hand injecting the blue liquid, then transmitted it to Su Li through the system for analysis.

"It seems this is Chi Xiao's secret weapon for controlling people's minds," Lu Zhaoming thought to himself. "To rescue Liu Feng, we must obtain the antidote for this blue liquid."

After careful planning, Lu Zhaoming finally found an opportunity to meet with Ghost Hand alone.

He spread the word through Lao Ma, claiming that he had a batch of rare resources that could be used to exchange for the experimental data of the Ghost Hand.

Ghost Hand was initially wary, but when he saw the list of resources provided by Lu Zhaoming, a glint of greed flashed in his eyes.

"Are you sure you have these things?" Ghost Hand's voice was hoarse and unpleasant, like sandpaper rubbing against glass.

“Of course, as long as you’re willing to give me the experimental data, these things are yours.” Lu Zhaoming smiled mysteriously. “However, I don’t want to be fooled. I want to see the goods first.”

Ghost Hand hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded: "Alright, I can let you take a look, but you must promise to hand it over to me immediately after you've looked at it."

Lu Zhaoming followed Ghost Hand into a secret room filled with all sorts of experimental equipment and data.

"This is the result of my research. With this data, you can create an endless stream of puppet soldiers," Ghost Hand said smugly.
