Lu Zhaoming rushed back to the stronghold like an arrow released from a bow. Along the way, the wind of the wasteland, carrying sand and gravel, lashed against his face, much like his anxious mood at that moment.
"Su Li! Old Wolf!"
He shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice carrying a barely perceptible hint of panic.
There was no way around it; Chi Xiao had really gone too far this time, directly threatening his life. How could he not panic?
Soon, Su Li's alluring figure appeared before him, still exuding the same captivating charm, as if the cruelty of the apocalypse had nothing to do with her.
Old Wolf slowly emerged from the corner, his signature slick smile on his face.
"Hey, Mr. Lu, what's wrong? You look so anxious," Old Wolf asked with a grin.
Lu Zhaoming didn't have time to waste words with him and directly poured out all the intelligence he had intercepted from Da Xiong, as well as the mandatory tasks issued by the system.
“Red Owl’s plan is to attack survivor settlements. That old bastard wants to completely overturn the order of the wasteland and make everyone submit to him!” Lu Zhaoming said through gritted teeth, cursing Red Owl as a troublemaker in his heart.
After listening, Su Li's charming face also showed a solemn expression: "This Chi Xiao has quite the ambition. Does he want to become the emperor of the wasteland?"
"The emperor? Heh, isn't he afraid of stuffing himself to death?" Old Wolf spat, his face full of disdain, but his eyes held a hint of worry.
Just as the three were discussing their strategy, a commotion suddenly broke out in the stronghold.
"Brother Feng! Brother Feng, wake up!"
Lu Zhaoming's heart skipped a beat, and he rushed into the room.
Xiao Hu was excitedly holding Liu Feng's hand, calling out to him at the top of his lungs.
Liu Feng lay on the bed, his face pale, his lips cracked, and he looked extremely weak.
But his tightly closed eyes were trembling slightly.
Lu Zhaoming stepped forward and carefully observed Liu Feng's condition.
He discovered that Liu Feng's consciousness seemed to be struggling to break free from some kind of constraint, wanting to return to the real world.
"Brother Feng! It's me, Xiao Hu! Look at me, I'm your brother!" Xiao Hu cried out, tears streaming down his face like beads from a broken string.
Suddenly, a tear slid down Liu Feng's cheek.
Although he still couldn't open his eyes or make a sound, this tear proved that hope still existed deep within him.
"There's hope!" Lu Zhaoming was overjoyed and quickly said to Su Li, "Su Li, speed up the development of the antidote! Liu Feng is trying his best to regain consciousness, we can't give up!"
"Don't worry, I've done my best." Su Li nodded.
In order to speed up the development of the antidote, Lu Zhaoming decided to risk infiltrating a secret laboratory in the Red Owl's controlled area to find more experimental data.
After all, knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to victory in every battle.
As night fell, Lu Zhaoming infiltrated the Red Owl's controlled area alone.
Using the powerful functions of the "Doomsday Judgment System," he successfully evaded the enemy patrols and silently made his way to the vicinity of the secret laboratory.
The laboratory is located inside an abandoned chemical plant, surrounded by cameras and infrared sensors, and is heavily guarded.
Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath, activated the system's stealth mode, and moved like a ghost among various obstacles, finally successfully infiltrating the laboratory.
The laboratory was filled with all sorts of strange instruments and equipment, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of chemicals.
Despite his discomfort, Lu Zhaoming began to search carefully.
Soon, he found a complete document about the "Dawn of Light" project on a table.
The document details the virus's spread path and target areas, even including the specific time and location of its release.
"Good heavens, this Crimson Owl really wants to destroy the world!" Lu Zhaoming gasped, quickly took out his personal device, photographed all the documents, and sent them to Su Li for analysis via the system.
Just as he was about to leave, he inadvertently glimpsed a corner of the laboratory where a large number of unused psychosuggestion devices were piled up.
These devices resemble some kind of helmet, with complex wiring and chips attached to them.
Lu Zhaoming felt a chill run down his spine.
"That Red Owl is definitely up to no good! These psychological manipulation devices must be tools he uses to control people's minds!"
Lu Zhaoming dared not be careless and quickly took pictures of these devices and sent them to Su Li.
After completing his mission, Lu Zhaoming quickly evacuated the laboratory and returned to the base.
Upon returning to the base, Lu Zhaoming immediately shared the newly acquired intelligence with Su Li and Lao Lang.
“According to this ‘Dawn of Light’ plan, Crimson Owl will release the virus in the largest survivor settlement in the wasteland in three days. If he succeeds, the entire wasteland will be devastated!” Lu Zhaoming said in a deep voice.
“Then we must stop him!” Su Li said with a serious expression.
“But we are short-handed right now. How easy is it to stop Red Owl?” Old Wolf said, frowning.
Lu Zhaoming was silent for a moment, then suddenly proposed a bold plan: "We can use Liu Feng as bait to lure Chi Xiao out!"
"What?!" Upon hearing this, Xiao Hu immediately became agitated. "No! I disagree! I absolutely will not allow you to use my brother as bait!"
Lu Zhaoming understood Xiaohu's feelings, but he still patiently explained, "Xiaohu, I know you're worried about your brother, but this is our only chance to save him, and it's also the key to stopping Chi Xiao."
"But..." Xiao Hu still hesitated.
"Xiao Hu, believe me, I will definitely protect your brother!" Lu Zhaoming said firmly.
