As Lu Zhaoming stepped into the entrance of the ruins, Shi Hu's incessant roar, like someone who had just eaten a piece of chewing gum, immediately came from behind him: "You can't escape!" Without turning his head, alarm bells rang in his mind, and a chill instantly ran from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
"Heh, cliché villain lines." Lu Zhaoming curled his lip, but his hands moved quickly. He pulled out a high-explosive grenade, pulled the pin, and threw it precisely at the stone tiger behind him, which was already impaled like a hedgehog with iron spikes.
Here's a little gift for you: remember to upgrade your IQ in your next life!
"Ding!" The crisp system notification sounded again, and the interface flashed red warning signs frantically: "Energy radiation levels ahead are too high! High-risk unit detected! Unknown dangers exist inside the ruins. Please proceed with caution!"
Lu Zhaoming spat, "What's there to be afraid of? Fortune favors the bold!" But his body betrayed him by slowing down. He narrowed his eyes, activating his Eye of Judgment to its fullest extent, scanning the deep, dark passage before him. The air was filled with a mixture of decay and blood, stimulating his sense of smell.
"This taste is intoxicating!" he muttered, his palms slightly sweaty, a strange sense of oppression making it hard for him to breathe.
Lu Zhaoming tightened his grip on the gun, feeling the cold touch of the metal, and said in a low voice, "It's been a while since I've had any action. I hope you won't disappoint me, my darling! This is just the beginning." With that, he suddenly raised the gun in his hand and pressed it against his shoulder.
Then, he heard Su Li's voice in his ear: "Watch your step!"
The passageway was dimly lit, with only a few emergency lights on the walls providing illumination.
Lu Zhaoming walked forward cautiously, each step taken with extreme care, as if afraid of stepping on some trap.
"Damn, this mechanism is too sneaky!" Lu Zhaoming couldn't help but complain. Just as he lifted his foot, the Eye of Judgment caught sight of several thin steel wires on the ground.
If it weren't for the system, he probably would have turned into a hedgehog by now.
He took a deep breath, focused his mind, and his Eye of Judgment scanned the surrounding environment like a radar.
The ground, the walls, and even the ceiling were covered with all sorts of traps.
Spikes, poisoned arrows, rolling stones... it was a terrifying experience, impossible to defend against.
"This designer is an absolute freak!" Lu Zhaoming cursed inwardly as he dodged the traps.
He felt like he was playing a very difficult escape room game, the kind where one wrong move could end the game.
Suddenly, a huge circular hall appeared in front of the passage.
In the center of the hall, a figure stood with his back to him, seemingly studying something.
"Someone's there?" Lu Zhaoming's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately became more vigilant.
He tiptoed and slowly approached the hall.
"Who are you?" Lu Zhaoming asked in a deep voice.
The man slowly turned around, revealing a weathered face.
He wore thick glasses and a worn-out white lab coat, looking like an old scholar.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" The old scholar's face was full of wariness.
"I am Lu Zhaoming, and I am here to stop Chi Xiao's conspiracy." Lu Zhaoming did not hide his identity.
"Red Owl?" The old scholar's expression changed slightly. "You actually know about Red Owl? It seems you're no ordinary person either."
"My name is Professor Lin, and I was a scientist before the nuclear war. All these years, I have been guarding this place to protect the important data in the ruins," Professor Lin said slowly.
"Important information?" Lu Zhaoming's heart skipped a beat. "What kind of information?"
"It's about... never mind, now's not the time to tell you." Professor Lin shook his head. "However, since you're here to fight against the Crimson Owl, I can trust you this once."
At this moment, a burly young man walked over. He looked honest and simple, and nodded to Lu Zhaoming.
"This is Afu, my assistant. He's an expert in mechanisms and can help you navigate through the traps here," Professor Lin introduced.
"Mechanical arts?" Lu Zhaoming's eyes lit up. This was like a pillow delivered to someone who was sleepy!
"Hello, Mr. Lu, I will do my best to help you," Afu said with a simple smile.
With Afu's help, Lu Zhaoming's progress accelerated significantly.
Ah Fu knows the mechanisms here like the back of his hand, and he can always spot them in advance and cleverly avoid them.
"Be careful, there's a trap ahead," Afu warned.
Lu Zhaoming immediately stopped and scanned ahead with his Eye of Judgment. Sure enough, he found a hidden pit on the ground, which was filled with barbs.
"Amazing!" Lu Zhaoming couldn't help but exclaim.
Just as they were about to pass through the hall, a sudden burst of noisy footsteps came from behind them.
"They're here!" Lu Zhaoming's expression changed.
"There's no time. You guys go first, I'll cover the rear!" Lu Zhaoming said decisively.
"Mr. Lu, this is too dangerous!" Afu said hurriedly.
"Don't worry, I have a way." Lu Zhaoming smiled.
"Qinglian, protect Professor Lin and Afu, and find a place to hide first," Lu Zhaoming said to Qinglian through the communicator.
"Understood!" Qinglian replied crisply.
Professor Lin and Afu knew the situation was urgent, so they didn't say much and quickly left the hall with Qinglian.
Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath, turned around, and faced the Blood Raven troops that were chasing after him.
"You choose the path to heaven but refuse to take it, you barge into the gates of hell but choose to walk through them!" Lu Zhaoming sneered. "Today I'll show you why flowers are so red!"
The Blood Ravens quickly stormed into the hall, led by a voluptuous woman, none other than Green Snake.
