Chapter 135 Red Owl's Crazy Gamble

Lu Zhaoming led his team to carefully infiltrate the core area of the Blood Raven's Lair.

The air was thick with the smell of metal and lingering dust, making every step feel exceptionally heavy.

Suddenly, the sight before them made them stop in their tracks—the place had been completely transformed into a huge experimental field, with a massive central device slowly operating, its eerie blue light flickering in the darkness, as if foreshadowing something ominous.

The core of the "Annihilation Light" device is surrounded by complex machinery and wires, and every mechanical roar is chilling.

Following the guidance of the Eye of Judgment, Lu Zhaoming quickly scanned his surroundings.

He noticed the Black Tower lurking in the shadows, its eyes gleaming with a cold light, ready to deliver a fatal blow at any moment.

"Major!" Xiao Hu's voice rang in my ears, tinged with tension. "What is that?"

Lu Zhaoming did not answer, but merely glanced coldly at the Crimson Owl on the control panel.

Chi Xiao stood in the center, his figure cold and aloof, a mocking smile on his lips, and undisguised hostility in his eyes.

"Judge, do you think you can stop me?" Red Owl's voice was cold and harsh, as if every word was frost-covered.

Lu Zhaoming did not rush to respond. A cold smile appeared on his lips as his gaze moved quickly through his Eye of Judgment, analyzing every detail.

He gestured for Afu and Xiaohu to distract themselves, while he quietly approached the control panel.

However, Red Owl seemed to have been prepared. He chuckled and pressed a button, activating the device's self-destruct program!

"Warning! Warning! Self-destruct program initiated, countdown begins!" The system's cold, mechanical voice sent a chill down the spines of everyone present.

"Everyone, disperse!" Lu Zhaoming's voice was deep and decisive, his gaze as sharp as a hawk's.

He quickly determined that the self-destruct sequence would take some time to complete, and that Red Owl himself was the key.

Black Tower emerged from the shadows with lightning speed, the blade in his hand slicing through the darkness with a cold light.

Lu Zhaoming's eyes sharpened, but he didn't stop walking. The system's time-delay function had been activated, and everything around him seemed to slow down.

He used his Judgment Eye to predict his opponent's movements, and his every dodge was precise, gradually gaining the upper hand.

"This kid is no pushover!" Black Tower thought to himself in shock, but his hands didn't stop moving at all.

Amidst the flashing blades, the two clashed fiercely, their battle so intense that the ground trembled slightly with each impact.

Just then, Chi Xiao leaped off the control panel, holding an energy weapon in his hand. The powerful shockwave instantly forced Lu Zhaoming back several meters.

Lu Zhaoming felt a tremendous force strike his chest, his vision went black, and he almost collapsed to the ground.

He gritted his teeth and persevered.

"System, slow down time!" he whispered. The system's time-slowing function was activated again, and everything around him slowed down once more.

He seized the opportunity and delivered a powerful punch straight to Chi Xiao's chest, knocking him to the ground.

Red Owl coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"You can't win! Even if I die, the wasteland will be buried with me!" Red Owl laughed wildly, his eyes flashing with madness. He leaped up and pounced on Lu Zhaoming again.

Their figures intertwined in the darkness, each collision seemingly destroying the boundaries of time and space.

Just as Lu Zhaoming was about to defeat Chi Xiao, Chi Xiao's eyes suddenly turned cold. He pressed another button without thinking, and the entire device emitted a piercing sound. The powerful energy fluctuations caused the surrounding machinery to vibrate.

"Major, watch out!" Xiao Hu's voice rang in my ears, tinged with panic.

Lu Zhaoming knew that this battle had reached its final stage, and no matter the outcome, he would do everything in his power to protect those around him.

"Today, I'll show you why flowers are so red!" Lu Zhaoming roared, his eyes gleaming with unyielding spirit, as he forced Chi Xiao into a corner.

However, at that moment, Chi Xiao's eyes suddenly turned crazed. He laughed loudly, and an escape device appeared in his hand without him even noticing.

He pressed the button, and the device emitted a piercing roar, instantly enveloping him in a beam of light...

Lu Zhaoming's pupils suddenly contracted; the light was so dazzling it was practically blinding!

With a whoosh, that old bastard Chi Xiao vanished from his spot along with the beam of light, leaving behind only the smell of ozone and Lu Zhaoming's utterly bewildered expression.

"Trying to run? No way!" Just as Lu Zhaoming was about to take a step forward and give him a good whack, Black Tower stood in front of him like a roly-poly toy, his ever-changing poker face so cold it could frost off three layers.

Well, this "gatekeeper" is determined to be a roadblock.

Lu Zhaoming was furious, but he knew that now was not the time to argue with this "idiot." Saving lives was urgent, and defusing the bomb was even more pressing.

He glared fiercely at Black Tower, his eyes seeming to say, "You wait, just you wait, I'll show you what I'm made of later." Then, with a graceful turn, he touched the ground with his toes and shot like an arrow toward the "Annihilation Light" control panel, which was still buzzing and flashing with a deathly blue light.

The acrid smell and the grating sound of metal scraping in the air grew stronger and stronger, it was practically a death knell!

Just then, the cold system notification in my mind rang out at an inopportune moment: "Beep! Warning! If the host forcibly terminates the self-destruct program, there is a risk of severe mental exhaustion. Continue?"

A ruthless glint flashed in Lu Zhaoming's eyes. Without even a second's hesitation, he roared in his mind, "Nonsense! Continue!"

He pressed his thin lips together, staring at the complex control panel that made one's scalp crawl, and murmured softly, as if speaking to himself, or perhaps to this damned apocalypse: "This is... the only way."
