Chapter 139 Counterattack from the Trap

Lu Zhaoming stood in the room filled with experimental data, secretly sneering to himself.

The white-robed man's plan, though insidious, also seemed overly simplistic.

He deliberately slowed his pace, making Old Fox's men think he was completely unprepared, but in reality he was secretly analyzing the surrounding environment.

He keenly noticed that the layout of the experimental field was too simple, even somewhat deliberate, as if it were intentionally luring him into a trap.

Sure enough, when Lu Zhaoming entered a narrow passage, the surrounding walls suddenly made a "crackling" sound, and huge rocks rapidly approached from all directions, trapping him inside almost instantly.

He reacted quickly, bracing himself against the wall with both hands, his fingernails almost digging into the cracks in the stone.

The air around them suddenly became heavy, as if time itself had frozen in this unexpected turn of events.

"Heh, White Robe, you old fox finally couldn't hold back anymore." Lu Zhaoming said, each word distinct and chilling.

He quickly activated the "Doomsday Judgment System" in an attempt to find a way to break the mechanism.

The system interface popped up quickly, displaying the structure and weaknesses of the wall. He quickly memorized the key points and began to work.

Just then, a series of hurried footsteps came from afar, and a figure appeared at the end of the passage.

Ah Niu, the leader of the scavengers, walked straight toward Lu Zhaoming with anger and hatred on his face and a homemade spear in his hand.

"The white-robed man killed my family, and I will take revenge with my own hands!" Ah Niu roared, his voice trembling slightly, but his eyes were unwavering.

Lu Zhaoming released his grip, stood for a while, then slowly stood up and dusted himself off.

He squinted, carefully examining Ah Niu, and quickly made a judgment in his mind.

Although the scavenger leader was angry, he was not a mindless brute. The scars on his body and the determination in his eyes indicated that he had a powerful background.

“I understand your anger, A Niu,” Lu Zhaoming said in a deep voice, his tone sincere. “But you alone cannot bring down the White Robe. We need to cooperate.”

Ah Niu nodded, and the two quickly joined forces to destroy several key support points. The huge stones collapsed one after another, finally opening an escape route for them.

After escaping, Lu Zhaoming and A Niu arrived at a safe area.

Xiao Mei, the white fox's apprentice, was hiding in a corner, trembling with fear.

She saw Lu Zhaoming,

"Project White Coats will complete a new round of experiments within three days," Xiaomei finally spoke, her voice tinged with fear. "They're going to release a virus that can control human minds. If this plan succeeds, the entire wasteland will fall!"

Lu Zhaoming's expression instantly turned serious; he realized that time was running out.

He thought for a moment and looked at Ah Niu: "We need more manpower, but with our current strength, it will be difficult to succeed. Do you have any other trustworthy people who can help us?"

Ah Niu nodded: "I will mobilize the scavengers, but I suggest you find Sister Hong for this person. She used to be Bai Pao's subordinate and is dissatisfied with Bai Pao's plans. Perhaps we can use her dissatisfaction to deal with Bai Pao."

Lu Zhaoming nodded and decided to take A Niu's suggestion.

He found Sister Hong and explained his purpose.

Sister Hong, a woman with a cold gaze, remained silent for a moment after hearing this, and finally nodded in agreement: "I can help you, but you must promise me that once things are successful, you will help me completely eradicate the White Robe's forces."

Lu Zhaoming nodded; he knew this was an acceptable condition.

Sister Hong revealed to him the core defensive weakness of the white robe: the experimental field's energy supply relied on a hidden backup power station.

"Understood," Lu Zhaoming said.

He turned to look at Sister Hong and Ah Niu, his eyes burning with the same flame: "The real contest has only just begun." Lu Zhaoming's figure quickly disappeared into the night, leaving behind a thick shadow, as if foreshadowing the coming storm.

Lu Zhaoming's figure darted swiftly through the night, eventually arriving at the hidden backup power station.

He held his breath and cautiously approached the entrance, only to find the white-robed figure already standing there, staring at him with icy eyes.

"Judge, every step you've taken has been exactly what I expected." The white-robed man's tone carried a hint of mockery, as if everything was under his control.

Lu Zhaoming didn't panic; instead, he sneered.

As soon as he finished speaking, he quickly activated the time-delay function of the "Doomsday Judgment System," and the surrounding air seemed to be paused, with time slowing down.

He nimbly bypassed the white-robed figure and ran swiftly towards the power plant's core control room, where he quickly destroyed critical equipment.

However, the man in white did not stop him, but simply said, "This is just the beginning. You can never stop my ideals."

Lu Zhaoming's heart sank, realizing that a larger conspiracy was brewing.

He pushed open the door to the control room, and in a flash, the core equipment of the power plant began to vibrate violently, and the entire building shook and roared.

He turned to look at the white-robed man, his eyes flashing with a cold light, his voice low and firm: "Our story has only just begun."

The man in white robes smiled slightly and left behind a meaningful remark: "Your every move is part of my script."
