Chapter 160 Mastery and Control Techniques

During the retreat, Lu Zhaoming suddenly felt a violent turmoil within his body, as if countless tiny needles were darting around in his internal organs.

His brows furrowed even more, his gaze moving from afar to near, finally settling on the bulging veins on the back of his hand.

A string of red text suddenly popped up on the trial system interface, like a chilling warning: "Mental interference module overload may lead to loss of control of abilities."

"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath, shaking his head violently in an attempt to suppress the fluctuations within his body.

But this chaotic energy seemed to have developed its own consciousness, constantly assaulting his mental defenses.

The light of the referee's eye flickered, and he found that he could not accurately lock onto the target, which made him anxious.

Leng Feng and his hunter team approached silently. Leng Feng sneered, "Lu Zhaoming, your ability fluctuations have already revealed your location."

Lu Zhaoming's heart raced instantly. He could almost hear Leng Feng's cold laughter, mixed with the steady footsteps of the hunters approaching, pressing him like drumbeats.

He quickly scanned his surroundings, his right hand swiftly sweeping through the air in an attempt to activate the time-delay function.

However, this time, his superpower malfunctioned. The range expansion failed, and time seemed to be stuck at a certain point, unable to be slowed down any further.

"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath and made a quick decision.

Suddenly, a loud "boom" came from afar. The blacksmith remotely detonated the carefully laid trap, and a cloud of smoke rose from the ground, temporarily slowing down the hunter team's progress.

"Hurry up!" The blacksmith's voice was deep and powerful, carrying an unquestionable authority.

Without hesitation, Lu Zhaoming led Liu Gang and Xiaodao away, and the three of them quickly disappeared into the ruins.

Although the blacksmith's trap bought them valuable time, he knew in his heart that it was only temporary.

The system interface displayed another warning: "Continued use of superpowers will increase the burden; it is recommended to stop immediately."

Back at the base, Lu Zhaoming sat down with lingering fear, the discomfort in his chest still not completely subsided.

He realized that he had to master higher-level control skills as soon as possible, otherwise the trial system might backfire on him.

“Blacksmith,” he said in a deep voice, “I need your help to forge some special weapons to enhance the effects of my powers.”

The blacksmith nodded.

Through Old Joe's intelligence, Lu Zhaoming learned that a supernatural mentor named Eagle was living in seclusion nearby.

He decided to risk going to visit.

Before setting off, he deliberately released false intelligence, misleading Leng Feng's team into following the wrong direction.

Before leaving, Liu Gang volunteered to stay behind at the stronghold, saying with a determined look in his eyes, "You saved me, now it's my turn to protect everyone."

Lu Zhaoming patted Liu Gang on the shoulder, a complex emotion welling up inside him.

Xiao Dao clenched his fist.

"Brothers, take care." Lu Zhaoming's voice carried a hint of weariness, but more so a firm resolve.

He turned and walked towards the door, his steps firm.

Behind him, Liu Gang and Xiao Dao followed closely, as if silently cheering him on.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the wasteland, Leng Feng's cold figure appeared and disappeared, unaware that they had already embarked on the wrong path.

Lu Zhaoming's figure gradually disappeared into the vast wasteland. His goal was clear and firm—to find the eagle and master its control techniques.

But deep down, he had a premonition that this journey would not be smooth sailing.

Goodness, this eagle's hideout is truly "eagle-like"!

After winding and turning like a maze, we finally stopped outside a dilapidated wooden house that looked like it was about to collapse.

Lu Zhaoming had just caught his breath and hadn't even had time to strike a cool pose when the wooden door creaked open, and a figure floated out like a ghost.

That eagle, hey, it truly lives up to its name!

He wore a drab gray robe, his hair was a mess like a bird's nest, but his eyes were as sharp as a hawk's, as if he could see right through a person inside and out.

He looked Lu Zhaoming up and down with an X-ray-like gaze that made Lu Zhaoming's back tingle with goosebumps.

"You want to learn control techniques?" The eagle's voice was hoarse, as if he had swallowed a handful of sand, and so deep it could kill a few flies. "First, prove you're trustworthy."

Lu Zhaoming thought to himself, "Holy crap, what's this old man up to?"

This is the first thing they did?

He was pondering how to respond—whether to make a domineering declaration or perform a brick-breaking demonstration with his bare hands—when a loud "BOOM!" exploded from not far away!

Wow!

The ground trembled from the commotion!

The pungent smell of gunpowder instantly assaulted our senses, making our eardrums buzz.

Lu Zhaoming's expression changed. He knew without even thinking that it must be that kid Leng Feng!

This thing is like a persistent plaster; it caught up so quickly!

He can even see through false information; it seems I underestimated him.

He clenched his fists instinctively, his knuckles cracking.

Damn it, you have a path to heaven but you choose to barge into hell when there's no way out!

Now look what's happened! The Eagles haven't even gotten to know each other yet, and the pursuers have already arrived.

Does the eagle think he led the people here?

Wouldn't this trust value immediately turn negative and get him kicked out?

Lu Zhaoming's mind raced, deciding whether to take down Leng Feng's gang first and show off in front of Eagle, or...

The eagle narrowed his deep eyes, a subtle, enigmatic smile playing on his lips. He slowly uttered a few words: "Kid, you're interesting. If you want to live, come with me." With that, he turned and walked toward an inconspicuous shadow behind the wooden house.
