Chapter 167 Breakthrough Through the Cracks

Upon hearing this, Lu Zhaoming showed no panic whatsoever. Instead, he slowly stood up, stretched, and his joints cracked in a series of crisp sounds.

His cynical smile deepened, and his eyes gleamed with the excitement of a hunter spotting his prey: "Oh? An experience pack and experimental subjects delivered right to my doorstep? That's great, I was just looking for a place to try out new ideas."

After saying that, he picked up a rusty wrench from the side, weighed it in his palm as if it were some kind of peerless divine weapon.

"Qinglian, keep a close watch on their movements, don't let even a fly slip in." Lu Zhaoming gestured with his chin toward Qinglian, giving her a meaningful look. "Blacksmith, grab your tools, let's go prepare a 'surprise' for these bastards! Oh, and let's take all our precious gems—automatic defense devices!—out for a spin. They haven't seen any blood in ages, they're practically rusted, aren't they?"

Upon hearing this, the blacksmith's already dark face flushed with excitement. He swung his hammer and slammed it down on the abandoned machinery beside him with a loud crash: "Don't worry, Brother Zhaoming! I guarantee those sons of bitches won't leave alive!"

The two of them, one in front of the other, crouched low and slipped out of the hideout.

Lu Zhaoming stood on high ground, squinting as he surveyed the abandoned factory before him.

The crumbling walls, rusty pipes, and dilapidated factory buildings all speak of the cruelty and desolation of the end times.

"Tsk tsk, what a great place to stir up trouble." Lu Zhaoming clicked his tongue.

He quickly constructed a three-dimensional battle map in his mind, knowing exactly where to set traps, where to use as firing positions, and where the best retreat route was.

"Blacksmith, drag those scrapped excavators over here and pile them up at the entrance. Reinforce them with barbed wire and give them an 'Iron Great Wall'!" Lu Zhaoming directed while picking up a few pebbles from the ground and playing with them in his hand. "Oh, and don't forget to bury some 'mines' inside to give them a 'good start'!"

The blacksmith rolled up his sleeves and busied himself with great enthusiasm, occasionally letting out a few rough shouts, as if cheering for the upcoming battle.

At the same time, Qinglian was also nervously monitoring the enemy's movements.

Her usually cool eyes were now filled with focus as her fingers flew across the control panel, streams of data flashing past her eyes.

"Brother Zhaoming, they've entered the factory area! There are a lot of them, at least thirty! And their equipment is very sophisticated; it seems they're even equipped with heavy weapons!" Qinglian's voice, tinged with tension, rang out through the communicator.

"Roger that." Lu Zhaoming's lips curled into a bloodthirsty smile. "Let them in, let's give them a good welcome!"

He took a deep breath, slowly closed his eyes, and began to mobilize the energy within his body.

"Eagle, are you ready? It's time for your lesson," Lu Zhaoming silently recited in his mind.

A moment later, an old and hoarse voice rang in his mind: "Kid, don't push yourself too hard. Your body is nearing its limit. The mental interference module is no joke; it could turn you into an idiot."

"Don't worry, old man, I know what I'm doing," Lu Zhaoming said impatiently. "Just tell me how to stabilize this thing's output. I don't want to die young."

"Hmph, they won't shed tears until they see the coffin." Eagle snorted coldly, and then began to explain in detail the method of stabilizing the mental interference module.

As Lu Zhaoming listened, he carefully adjusted the flow of energy within his body, following the eagle's instructions.

“Very good, that’s it, keep it up! Remember, controlling your mental power is like taming a wild horse. You can’t force it, you can only guide it slowly…” The eagle’s voice was like a wake-up call, making Lu Zhaoming suddenly understand.

Just then, a deafening burst of gunfire shattered the factory's silence.

"The fight has begun!" Lu Zhaoming suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze sharp and intense.

He activated the trial system without hesitation.

"Judgment Storm III!"

In an instant, a powerful spiritual force spread outwards from Lu Zhaoming, sweeping across the entire factory like a storm.

Before the white-robed soldiers who had just rushed into the factory could react, they were scattered and staggered by this powerful mental force.

They clutched their heads in agony, emitting cries of pain as if they were being tortured.

"What...what the hell is this?!" a soldier in white robes cried out in terror.

"Quick...retreat!" Another soldier in white robes, disregarding his mission, turned and tried to escape.

However, it was all too late.

Under Lu Zhaoming's mental attack, their willpower was instantly destroyed, and they completely lost the ability to resist.

The abandoned machinery that the blacksmith had modified also began to play a role.

The excavator swung its massive iron arm, swatting the white-robed soldiers away like flies. The barbed wire was also covered with a dense electric grid; anyone who touched it would be electrocuted, convulsing and foaming at the mouth.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The landmines buried in the ground also exploded at the opportune moment, turning the white-robed soldiers into bloody and gruesome messes.

The entire factory instantly transformed into a living hell.

Lu Zhaoming stood on high ground, coldly watching everything, like a high and mighty Grim Reaper looking down on the ant-like struggle.

However, his face grew paler and paler, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
