Chapter 171 The Secret Passage Choice

The wall in front of them slowly moved to both sides, revealing a new passage.

"It's a success!" the blacksmith exclaimed excitedly.

However, the moment the barrier opened, a strong energy fluctuation came from deep within, nearly knocking everyone over.

"Watch out!" Lu Zhaoming shouted, quickly supporting Qinglian and Afu beside him.

This energy fluctuation was extremely powerful, as if it contained some kind of terrifying force.

Lu Zhaoming could sense that this power was constantly increasing.

"What...what is this?" Professor Lin asked, his face pale, his voice tinged with fear.

"I don't know, but it's definitely not a good thing," Lu Zhaoming said in a deep voice, a sense of unease creeping into his heart.

He had a vague feeling that the secret passage might lead to some great secret.

Without time to think, the group immediately continued along the newly appeared passage.

The passageway became wider and brighter.

Soon, they arrived at a hidden small laboratory.

The laboratory is filled with all sorts of instruments and equipment, but most of them are damaged or unusable.

The walls were covered with various drawings and data, which recorded research materials from before the nuclear war.

Lu Zhaoming quickly scanned the documents, his expression growing increasingly grave.

He was surprised to find that the documents mentioned a technology called "Life Matrix," which could convert human life energy into weapons.

"Life Matrix?" Lu Zhaoming murmured to himself, his heart filled with shock.

This technology is simply appalling. If it could actually be realized, it would mean that humanity could create an unlimited number of powerful weapons.

“If this technology falls into the hands of the white-robed…” Professor Lin said solemnly, “they will possess devastating power.”

Just then, a violent explosion came from outside the secret passage, and the entire laboratory began to shake violently.

"Oh no, they're going to blow this place up!" Lu Zhaoming's expression changed. He knew that the White Robe Army had discovered their tracks and was preparing to bury them here completely.

We must leave here as soon as possible!

Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath; he knew there was no time to hesitate now.

He must make a decision quickly, or they will all perish here.

His gaze swept over the various pieces of equipment in the laboratory, finally settling on a huge instrument.

It was a core device, connected to countless pipes and wires, radiating powerful energy fluctuations.

"Take it away!" Lu Zhaoming said to the crowd, pointing to the core device.

“But…” Professor Lin hesitated, “This thing is too big; we can’t take it with us.”

"We must take it with us even if we can't!" Lu Zhaoming said firmly. "This thing absolutely cannot fall into the hands of the White Robe!"

Lu Zhaoming had no time to explain; he immediately began disassembling the core device.

His movements were very quick, like those of a skilled engineer.

"Come and help!" Lu Zhaoming said to everyone as he disassembled the parts.

Qinglian, the blacksmith, and Afu immediately joined the dismantling efforts.

They knew time was of the essence and they had to take the core device away as soon as possible.

Another loud bang, and cracks began to appear in the laboratory walls, with large amounts of dust and debris falling from the ceiling.

"Hurry up! Hurry up!" Lu Zhaoming urged, his heart filled with anxiety.

Finally, after much effort, they successfully removed the core device from the instrument.

It was a huge metal box, covered with all sorts of complex lines and interfaces.

"Let's go!" Lu Zhaoming shouldered the metal box and rushed out of the laboratory first.

They ran wildly along the secret passage, with explosions echoing behind them.

The entire secret passage began to collapse, and large amounts of rubble fell from the sky.

"Damn it, these lunatics!" Lu Zhaoming couldn't help but curse. He could sense that the White Robe troops had completely gone mad.

Just as they were about to rush out of the secret passage, a figure suddenly appeared in front of them.

The figure stood at the end of the passage, silently watching them.

It's a green snake!

Instead of leaving, she stood guard at the exit, waiting for them to walk right into her trap.

"Lu Zhaoming, you can't escape," Green Snake said coldly.

Lu Zhaoming stopped in his tracks, his face turning extremely grim.

He knew that he and the Green Snake would eventually have to fight.

"Is that so?" Lu Zhaoming smiled contemptuously, put down the metal box on his shoulder, and stretched his limbs. "I'd like to see what you're capable of doing to stop me."

The green snake didn't speak, but slowly raised her hand, her fingertips shimmering with an eerie green light.

"The game has started again." She smiled mysteriously.

Lu Zhaoming smiled as well, but his eyes were even more profound. "This time, the outcome is still uncertain." He slowly raised his arm and pointed behind the Green Snake. "Sorry, the game is over. I choose to cheat!"

Good heavens, Lu Zhaoming is really bold; he's practically tearing a hole in the sky!

He had just finished exchanging harsh words with Green Snake, and his arrogant "I'm the best in the world" attitude hadn't even dissipated when his attention instantly shifted back to that hot potato—the core device.

His eyes narrowed, and he was too lazy to play any more eye-catching games with the green snake. He reached out and grabbed the heavy, metallic box.

The fingertips had just touched the cold, rough outer shell, before they even had a chance to apply pressure—

"Beep beep—Warning!"
