Black Wolf waved his hand, a sinister grin spreading across his rugged face, as if he could already see Lu Zhaoming kneeling and begging for mercy.
"Surround them! No one will leave here alive today!"
At his command, a deafening burst of gunfire erupted at the end of the passage, bullets raining down and sparking as they struck the metal walls.
"Damn, that's some serious firepower!" Lu Zhaoming couldn't help but swear, his adrenaline surging.
At this critical moment, he dared not be negligent in the slightest and immediately activated the time delay function.
In his perception, the world seemed to have slowed down countless times.
The bullet's trajectory was clearly visible, and the dust in the air seemed to have solidified.
He grabbed Su Li and Xiao Die's hands, his figure moving like a ghost through the hail of bullets, carving a bloody path as he rushed toward the abandoned laboratory beside him.
"Xiaodie, follow my signals later," Lu Zhaoming said quickly in a low voice. "I'll create chaos. Can you use your ability to distract them?"
Xiaodie's face was pale; she was clearly terrified by this sudden turn of events.
But she gritted her teeth and nodded firmly, indicating that she would do her best.
After rushing into the laboratory, Lu Zhaoming immediately looked around, his brain working at lightning speed.
This place has clearly been abandoned for a long time, with various experimental equipment piled up haphazardly, and the air filled with a pungent chemical smell.
In the corner, several labeled reagent bottles caught his attention.
"System, scan these reagents for me!" he silently ordered in his mind.
"Received! Scanning... Scan complete! Flammable reagents such as ether, acetone, and nitroglycerin have been identified."
Lu Zhaoming's eyes lit up, and a sly smile appeared on his lips.
"It seems like even the heavens are on my side!"
He quietly walked to the pile of reagent bottles and, with the system's precise guidance, quickly mixed several flammable reagents together.
"Next, let's witness a 'chemical spectacle'!"
Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath, suddenly raised his foot, and kicked over an experimental table.
"Bang!"
The various instruments and reagent bottles piled on the lab bench instantly tipped over, making a piercing shattering sound.
When the mixed flammable reagents come into contact with air, a violent chemical reaction occurs immediately, producing a large amount of heat and gas. Then, with a loud "boom," a dazzling flame instantly rises into the air.
"Holy crap, what's going on?!"
Outside the laboratory, the pursuers were startled by the sudden explosion and stopped in their tracks, staring in horror at the raging flames before them.
Thick smoke instantly filled the entire room, making it impossible for people to open their eyes.
The guards coughed and waved their arms, trying to dispel the smoke in front of them, but to no avail.
"Cough cough... cough cough... Damn it, something's on fire!"
"I can't see... I can't see anything at all..."
Taking advantage of the chaos, Lu Zhaoming pulled Xiaodie aside and gestured for her to unleash her powers.
Xiaodie took a deep breath, closed her eyes, her hands trembling slightly, and began to concentrate.
A faint blue light gradually appeared around her body.
Immediately afterwards, a distorted area of light and shadow began to appear in the air, like a funhouse mirror, stretching and deforming the surrounding scenery.
Through the smoke, the pursuers could only see a blurry scene and could not discern the true location of Lu Zhaoming and his group.
“Over there! They’re over there!” a guard shouted, pointing to the area where the light and shadow were distorted.
The other guards immediately turned their guns and opened fire in that direction.
However, they only hit air; the bullets passed through the distorted light and shadow, striking the wall with muffled "bangs."
"Something's not right! This...this is an illusion!" Black Wolf stood at the front of the group, squinting as he carefully observed the scene before him, and quickly discovered the strangeness of the situation.
"Don't fall for their trap! They must have escaped through the ventilation ducts! Search them!" he said coldly, his voice carrying a chilling murderous intent.
Lu Zhaoming felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing the black wolf's voice.
"This guy isn't so easily fooled after all!"
We must leave here as soon as possible!
He made a quick decision, taking Su Li and Xiao Die with him, and changed their escape route, heading towards the other side of the laboratory.
Just then, the system's voice suddenly rang in Lu Zhaoming's mind.
"Host detected to be facing a deadly threat! New ability unlocked—'Eye of Judgment' primary form!"
Lu Zhaoming only felt a blur before his eyes, and a golden light flashed by in an instant.
Immediately afterwards, his perspective underwent a dramatic change.
He saw that everything around him became clearer and more real.
The dust in the air, the cracks in the walls, and even the expressions on the faces of the guards in the distance were clearly visible.
More importantly, he could see a striking red mark appearing on the black wolf's body.
The mark was on Black Wolf's right shoulder, where there was an old wound that had not yet healed.
"So that's how it is... So this is the 'Eye of Judgment'?" Lu Zhaoming thought to himself, "Being able to see through the enemy's weaknesses, what a powerful ability!"
He slightly raised the corners of his mouth, forming a cold, stern smile.
"Black Wolf, you've chosen the path to hell when there's a way to heaven. Since you're so eager to die, then I'll grant your wish!"
He silently circled behind Black Wolf, drew a dagger from his waist, held his breath, and concentrated all his strength into his right arm.
