Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath and turned to look at Su Li: "Get ready, we're going to... blow up their lair!"
No one dared to delay and they quickly made preparations.
After all, nobody wants to live in a hellish place where "perfect infected" roam everywhere.
When Lu Zhaoming led his team to the perimeter of the abandoned nuclear power plant, the night was already as thick and indistinct as spilled ink.
Looking up, a few stars could be faintly seen clinging to life behind the clouds, much like survivors struggling to survive in a wasteland.
"Tsk, it seems they're one step ahead of us." Lu Zhaoming lowered his voice, his gaze sweeping over the shadowy figures at the entrance of the nuclear power plant.
Those were Red Wolf's troops, each one heavily armed, patrolling vigilantly.
Su Li licked her lips, her eyes alluring: "How about we take advantage of the night and give them a good beating? I guarantee they'll be left with broken hearts and wounds all over the ground."
“Just what I wanted.” A dangerous smile curved Lu Zhaoming’s lips. “Qinglian, it’s up to you now.”
Qinglian nodded, closed her eyes, and slightly opened her hands.
An energy fluctuation, barely perceptible to the naked eye, emanated from her and spread outwards.
Soon, the scenery around the nuclear power plant began to blur, and some phantoms appeared and disappeared in the darkness.
"It's just an illusion, it won't last long, let's finish this quickly." Qinglian's face was a little pale, clearly this kind of large-scale support ability was also a considerable burden for her.
Lu Zhaoming waved his hand and said, "Liu Yan, take a few men and come with me to draw their fire. Su Li, you take the doctor and Xiao Cao, and follow Qing Lian. We'll sneak in through the side paths."
"Understood!" everyone responded in unison, and each began to act according to the plan.
Lu Zhaoming, along with Liu Yan and others, deliberately made some noise to attract the attention of the Red Wolf Squad.
Gunshots suddenly rang out in the silent night sky, shattering the tranquility of the wasteland.
Bullets whistled through the air, leaving shocking bullet holes in the abandoned buildings.
Taking advantage of the moment when the Red Wolf troops were distracted, Su Li, along with the doctor, Xiao Cao, and Qing Lian, carefully made their way into the nuclear power plant along a hidden path.
The interior of the nuclear power plant is even more dilapidated than the exterior, with rusty pipes and broken equipment everywhere.
A pungent metallic smell filled the air, making people feel nauseous.
"Be careful, there might be radiation here." Doctor Li walked along, checking the radiation levels in the surrounding area with his instruments, his expression grave.
"What are you afraid of? With me here, I guarantee you'll be fine." Su Li snorted, pulled out a uniquely shaped dagger from her waist, and walked at the front of the group, cautiously observing the surrounding movements.
As they approached the core area, the system suddenly emitted a piercing warning: "Warning! Abnormal energy fluctuations detected. Immediate evacuation recommended! Warning! Detected..."
"What's going on?" Lu Zhaoming's voice came through the communication channel, tinged with anxiety.
"The system said there was danger and told us to evacuate immediately," Su Li explained succinctly.
"No, we've come this far, we can't give up halfway." Lu Zhaoming said firmly, "Be careful, keep going."
The group had no choice but to grit their teeth and continue forward.
Soon, they arrived at a huge metal door.
The door was entirely black, its surface covered with intricate patterns, and it exuded an unsettling aura.
"Behind this door lies the core area," Qinglian said, pointing to the metal door, her voice trembling slightly.
Su Li stepped forward and carefully examined the patterns on the metal door. Suddenly, her expression changed: "Oh no, there's a trap here! It's Mad Dog's doing!"
"Mad Dog?" Lu Zhaoming frowned; the name was familiar to him.
Mad Dog is one of the core members of the White Robe Organization, known for his cunning and cruelty.
"It seems we underestimated them." Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath.
"What do we do now? Should we retreat?" Liu Yan's voice was hesitant.
“Withdraw? Impossible.” Lu Zhaoming shook his head, his tone firm. “Now that we’re here, we have to figure everything out.”
He paused, then continued, "Su Li, you know a lot, see if you can break this trap."
Su Li nodded, took out a bunch of tools from her backpack, and began to study the patterns on the metal door.
Time passed second by second, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
"How's it going? Have you made any progress?" Lu Zhaoming asked anxiously.
"Almost there, just a little bit more..." Su Li gritted her teeth, her fingers flying across the metal door.
Just then, the metal door suddenly made a soft "click" sound, and the patterns on the door began to move slowly.
"It's done!" Su Li exclaimed excitedly.
However, before everyone could even rejoice, the system issued another warning: "Warning! High-risk target detected approaching! Target is... a mad dog!"
"What?" Lu Zhaoming's expression changed drastically. Before he could react, a figure appeared in front of them like a ghost.
It was a tall man wearing a tattered white coat, with a strange smile on his face.
His eyes were empty and crazed, like a wild beast that had lost its mind.
“Welcome to my territory.” Mad Dog’s voice was hoarse and deep, as if it came from the depths of hell. “I have been waiting for a long time.”
A fierce battle is inevitable!
Mad Dog's strength far exceeded Lu Zhaoming's imagination. His attack methods were unpredictable and he seemed to have a great understanding of their abilities, always finding a way to counter them.
