Before Lu Zhaoming could figure out what "key memories" were, the blood-red warning buzzed in his mind like a death warrant.
"Damn it, are you kidding me? This stupid system can threaten people?" Lu Zhaoming spat, struggled to his feet, and groped around.
The surrounding area was a mess, with steel and concrete twisted into all sorts of bizarre shapes, like hideous faces.
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. What was he panicking for? He had to save himself!
Lu Zhaoming concentrated, trying to recall some useful information.
By the way, this place is Red Wolf's lair, so there must be a backup exit!
"Trial system, scan my surroundings and find a way out!" Lu Zhaoming silently prayed, this was his only hope now.
Just then, countless images flooded his mind like a burst dam, completely out of control.
Fragmented memories flashed by like a revolving lantern...
He appeared to be wearing a white lab coat and standing in a huge laboratory.
Various instruments flashed with a cold light, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of medicine.
"Lu Zhaoming, the data of test subject 37 is abnormal. Make adjustments immediately!" A cold voice rang in his ear.
He saw himself walk expressionlessly to a transparent culture chamber, inside which was a figure struggling in pain.
The figure's face was twisted and distorted, filled with despair.
"No...don't..." the figure groaned weakly.
Lu Zhaoming felt a strange palpitation. He tried to stop himself, but found that he had no control over his body.
The scene shifts, and he appears in a high-tech conference room.
A group of people dressed in suits are having a heated argument.
"The Judges Program must be launched as soon as possible; it's our only hope!"
"However, this technology still has flaws and may cause users to experience crashes!"
"We can't worry about that now, we don't have time!"
"Lu Zhaoming, you have been chosen as the first judge. I hope you will not let us down!"
"Ding! Memory synchronization request detected. Accept?" The system notification sounded again.
Lu Zhaoming hesitated.
He didn't know what these memories meant, but he had a vague feeling that a huge secret was hidden behind them.
"I accept!" He gritted his teeth and made the decision.
In an instant, countless pieces of information flooded into his mind, and he felt as if his head was about to explode.
He understood.
He was no ordinary time traveler, but a chosen "inquisitor" tasked with maintaining order in the wasteland.
His cheat system, the "Doomsday Judgment System," is a technological product from the future, designed to combat forces that attempt to disrupt order.
However, this technology itself has flaws that could cause users to experience crashes!
"Damn it, so I'm just a pawn too." Lu Zhaoming gave a bitter laugh, feeling like he had been cruelly tricked by fate.
Meanwhile, outside the core area.
"Damn it, how can this rock be so hard!" Liu Yan swung his battle sword, slashing at a huge rock, sparks flying everywhere.
"Liu Yan, watch out!" Su Li reacted quickly and pulled him away.
Several ferocious-looking infected creatures lunged out of the darkness, their sharp claws reeking of a foul stench.
"Get out of my way!" Liu Yan roared, slashing an infected person on the head with his sword, knocking him to the ground.
More infected people surged up and surrounded them.
"Sister Su Li, you take Xiao Cao and go first, leave this to me!" Liu Yan shouted while fighting.
"No, we'll go together!" Su Li didn't back down. Her dagger flashed and accurately pierced the eye of an infected person.
Qinglian stood to the side, her face pale. Although her illusion ability could confuse the infected, it was of no use against so many enemies.
"Damn it, my abilities are still too weak!" she gritted her teeth, her heart filled with self-blame.
Just then, a huge rock fell from above, about to hit Liu Yan on the head.
"Liu Yan, watch out!" Su Li exclaimed, trying to rush over to save him, but was entangled by several infected people.
Liu Yan also noticed the danger, but it was too late for him to dodge.
"Bang!"
With a muffled thud, Liu Yan's body was knocked to the ground.
"Liu Yan!" Su Li cried out in anguish, breaking free from the infected person's grasp and rushing to Liu Yan's side.
Liu Yan lay on the ground, spitting blood, his face deathly pale.
"Sister Su Li... don't worry about me... you guys go quickly..." he said with difficulty.
"No, I won't abandon you!" Tears welled up in Su Li's eyes.
Qinglian rushed over and used her auxiliary abilities to stop Liu Yan's bleeding.
"It's no use, his injuries are too severe, he needs treatment as soon as possible!" Dr. Li said calmly.
"We must rescue Lu Zhaoming as soon as possible; he might know where the exit is!"
"But... how can we get out?" Su Li looked at the densely packed infected people around her and felt a wave of despair.
Just then, a scene suddenly flashed into Lu Zhaoming's mind.
It was a backup exit hidden deep within the laboratory, known only to a select few.
"I know where the exit is!" Lu Zhaoming suddenly opened his eyes, his eyes shining with hope.
He struggled to his feet and staggered forward.
"Follow me!"
Following the clues in his memory, Lu Zhaoming made his way through many twists and turns before finally finding the backup exit.
It was an iron door hidden behind the wall, covered in dust.
